গীতসংহিতা 83

1 ১ একটি গান। আসফের সঙ্গীত। হে ঈশ্বর, নীরব থেকো না; হে ঈশ্বর, নীরব ও নিস্তব্ধ হয়ো না।

God, do not continue to be silent! Do not be quiet and say nothing,

2 ২ কারণ দেখ, তোমার শত্রুরা গর্জন করছে, তোমার ঘৃণাকারীরা মাথা তুলেছে।

because your enemies are rioting against you; those who hate you are rebelling against you!

3 ৩ তারা তোমার প্রজাদের বিরুদ্ধে চক্রান্ত করছে, তোমার সুরক্ষিত লোকদের বিরুদ্ধে একসঙ্গে পরামর্শ করছে।

They are secretly planning to do things to harm [us], your people; they are (conspiring together against/planning how to defeat) the people whom you protect.

4 ৪ তারা বলেছে, “এস, আমরা ওদেরকে ধ্বংস করি, জাতি হিসাবে আর থাকতে না দিই, যেন ইস্রায়েলের নাম আর মনে না থাকে।”

They say, “Come, we must destroy their nation, with the result that no one will remember that Israel ever existed!”

5 ৫ কারণ তারা একমনে পরিকল্পনা করেছে; তারা তোমার বিরুদ্ধে নিয়ম স্থাপন করে।

They have agreed on [what they want to do to destroy Israel], and they have formed an alliance against you.

6 ৬ ইদোমের তাঁবু ও সকল ইশ্মায়েলীয়রা, মোয়াব ও হাগারীয়রা,

[The people who have done that are] the people of Edom [region], the descendants of Ishmael [who live on the east side of the Jordan River], the Moab [people-group], the descendants of Hagar [who also live on the east side of the Jordan River],

7 ৭ গবাল, অম্মোন ও অমালেক, সোরের লোকেদের সঙ্গে পলেষ্টিয়া;

Gebal [people-group], the Ammon [people-group], the Amalek [people-group], the Philistia [people-group], and the people of Tyre [city].

8 ৮ অশূরীয়রাও তাদের সঙ্গে যোগ দিয়েছে, তারা লোটের বংশধরদের সাহায্য করছে।

[The people of] have joined them; they are strong allies of the [Moab and Ammon people-groups, who are] descendants of [Abraham’s nephew] Lot.

9 ৯ এদের প্রতি সেরকম কর, যেরকম মিদিয়নের প্রতি করেছিলে, কীশন নদীতে যেমন সীষরার ও যাবীনের প্রতি করেছিলে;

[God], do to those people things like you did to the Midian [people-group], like [you did] to Sisera and Jabin at Kishon River.

10 ১০ তারা ঐনদোরে ধবংস হল, ভূমির উপরে সারের মত হল।

You destroyed them at Endor [town], and their corpses [lay on] the ground and decayed.

11 ১১ তুমি ওদের প্রধানদেরকে অরেব ও সেবের সমান কর, এদের অধিপতিদের সেবহ ও সলমুন্নের সমান কর।

Do to them things like you did to [Kings] Oreb and Zeeb; defeat their leaders like you defeated Zebah and Zalmunna,

12 ১২ এরা বলেছে, “এস আমরা নিজেদের জন্য ঈশ্বরের সমস্ত চারণভূমি অধিকার করে নিই।”

who said, “We will take for ourselves the land that [the Israelis say] belongs to God!”

13 ১৩ হে আমার ঈশ্বর, তুমি ওদেরকে ঘূর্ণায়মান ধূলোর মত কর, বায়ুর সামনে অবস্থিত খড়ের মত কর।

My God, cause them [to disappear quickly] like whirling dust, like chaff that the wind blows away!

14 ১৪ যেমন দাবানল বন পুড়িয়ে দেয়, যেমন আগুনের শিখা পাহাড়-পর্বত জ্বালিয়ে দেয়;

Like a fire completely burns a forest and like flames burn in the mountains,

15 ১৫ সেরকম তুমি এদেরকে তোমার শক্তিশালী বায়ুতে তাড়া কর, তোমার প্রচণ্ড ঝড়ে ভয়গ্রস্ত কর।

expel them by sending storms; cause them to be terrified by your big storms/hurricanes!

16 ১৬ তুমি ওদের মুখ লজ্জায় পরিপূর্ণ কর, হে সদাপ্রভুু, যেন, এরা তোমার নামের খোঁজ করে।

Cause them [SYN] to be very ashamed in order that they will admit that you are very powerful.

17 ১৭ এরা চিরতরে লজ্জিত ও ভীত হোক; এরা হতাশ ও বিনষ্ট হোক;

Cause them to be forever disgraced [because of being defeated], and cause them to die while they are still disgraced.

18 ১৮ আর জানুক যে তুমিই, যার নাম সদাপ্রভুু, একা তুমিই সমস্ত পৃথিবীর উপরে সর্বশক্তিমান মহান ঈশ্বর।

Cause them to know that you, whose name is Yahweh, are the supreme ruler over everything on the earth.
