গীতসংহিতা 44

1 ১ প্রধান সঙ্গীতজ্ঞ জন্য। করোহ-সন্তানদের একটি মস্কীল। ঈশ্বর আমরা আমাদের কানে শুনেছি, আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষেরা আমাদের বলেছিল যে তুমি তাদের পুরোনো দিন গুলোতে কি করেছ।

For the Chief Musician; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah. Maschil. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the days of old.

2 ২ তুমি তোমার হাত দিয়ে জাতিদেরকে বের করেছ, কিন্তু তুমি আমাদের লোকেদের রোপণ করেছিলে, তুমি লোকদের কষ্ট দিলে, কিন্তু তুমি আমাদের লোকেদের এই দেশের বিস্তার।

Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand, and plantedst them in; thou didst afflict the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.

3 ৩ কারণ তারা নিজেদের তরোয়াল দ্বারা দেশ অধিকার করে নি, তাদের নিজের বাহু তাদের রক্ষা করে নি, কিন্তু তোমার ডান হাত, তোমার বাহু এবং তোমার মুখের আলো, কারণ তুমি তাদের প্রতি উপযোগী ছিলেন।

For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

4 ৪ ঈশ্বর, তুমিই আমার রাজা এবং ঈশ্বর; যাকোবের জন্য পরিত্রান বিজয়ী করতে আদেশ দিন।

Thou art my King, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.

5 ৫ তোমার দ্বারা আমরা আমাদের শত্রুদের ঠেলে নিচে ফেলে দেব; যারা আমার বিরুদ্ধে উঠে, তাদের তোমার নামের মাধ্যমে আমরা তাদের অধীনে চালাই।

Through thee will we push down our adversaries: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

6 ৬ কারণ আমি নিজের ধনুকের উপর নির্ভর করব না, আমার তরোয়াল আমাকে রক্ষা করবে না।

For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

7 ৭ কিন্তু তুমিই আমাদের শত্রুদের থেকে আমাদের রক্ষা করেছ এবং যারা আমাদের ঘৃণা তাদের লজ্জায় ফেলে দাও।

But thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.

8 ৮ আমরা সমস্ত দিন ধরে ঈশ্বরেতে গর্ব করলাম এবং চিরকাল জন্য তোমার নামের ধন্যবাদ করব। (সেলা)

In God have we made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks unto thy name for ever. (Selah)

9 ৯ কিন্তু এখন তুমি আমাকে ত্যাগ করেছ এবং আমাদের অপমানের মধ্যে নিয়ে এসেছ এবং আমাদের সৈন্যবাহিনীর সঙ্গে যাত্রা কর না।

But now thou hast cast [us] off, and brought us to dishonour; and goest not forth with our hosts.

10 ১০ তুমি বিপক্ষদের থেকে আমাদেরকে ফিরিয়েছ এবং আমাদের যারা ঘৃণা করে তারা নিজেদের জন্য লুটপাট করে।

Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

11 ১১ তুমি আমাদের খাবার জন্য ভেড়ার মত করে তৈরী করেছ এবং জাতিদের মধ্যে আমাদের ছিন্নভিন্ন করেছ।

Thou hast given us like sheep [appointed] for meat; and hast scattered us among the nations.

12 ১২ তুমি আপন লোকেদের বিনামূল্যে বিক্রি করেছ, তাদের মূল্যর দ্বারা ধন বৃদ্ধি কর নাই।

Thou sellest thy people for nought, and hast not increased [thy wealth] by their price.

13 ১৩ তুমি আমাদের প্রতিবেশীদের কাছে আমাদের তিরস্কার করেছ, আমাদের চারপাশে লোকদের উপহাস ও বিদ্রূপের পাত্র করেছ।

Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

14 ১৪ তুমি জাতিদের মধ্যে আমাদের অপমান করেছ, লোকেদের মধ্যে মাথাকে কম্পন করেছ।

Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

15 ১৫ সমস্ত দিন আমার অপমান আমার সামনে থাকে এবং আমার মুখের লজ্জা আমাকে ঢেকে দিয়েছে।

All the day long is my dishonour before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

16 ১৬ কারণ অপমান ও নিন্দাকারীর কন্ঠস্বর সহ্য করে, কারণ শত্রু ও প্রতিহিংসাকারীর উপস্থিতির জন্য।

For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.

17 ১৭ এইসব আমাদের উপর এসেছে; কিন্তু আমরা তোমাকে ভুলে যাই নি, বা তোমার নিয়ম বিষয়ে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করিনি।

All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

18 ১৮ আমাদের হৃদয়ে ফিরে যায় নি; আমাদের পদক্ষেপ তোমার পথে থেকে চলে যাই নি।

Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

19 ১৯ তবুও তুমি আমাদেরকে শিয়ালের জায়গায় তীব্রভাবে আমাদের ছিঁড়ে ফেলেছ এবং মৃত্যুরছায়ার সঙ্গে আমাদেরকে আচ্ছন্ন করেছ।

That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.

20 ২০ আমরা যদি নিজের ঈশ্বরের নাম ভুলে যাই বা যদি অন্য দেবের প্রতি অঞ্জলি দিয়ে থাকি।

If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;

21 ২১ তবে ঈশ্বর কি এই বিষয় অনুসন্ধান করবেন না? কারণ তিনি হৃদয়ের গুপ্ত বিষয় সব জানেন।

Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

22 ২২ প্রকৃত পক্ষে, তোমার জন্য আমরা সমস্ত দিন মারা যাচ্ছি; আমাদের বধের ভেড়া বলে মনে করা হয়।

Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

23 ২৩ জেগে উঠ, প্রভু কেন নিদ্রা যাও? উঠ, আমাদের স্হায়ীভাবে ত্যাগ করেন না।

Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.

24 ২৪ তুমি কেন তোমার মুখ লুকাচ্ছ এবং আমাদের দুঃখ ও অত্যাচার কেন ভুলে যাচ্ছ।

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

25 ২৫ কারণ আমার প্রাণ ধূলোতে অবনত হয়েছে, আমাদের শরীর ভূমিতে আটকে আছে।

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

26 ২৬ আমাদের সাহায্যের জন্য উঠ এবং নিজের চুক্তির নিয়মে আমাদেরকে মুক্ত কর।

Rise up for our help, and redeem us for thy lovingkindness’ sake.
