গীতসংহিতা 23

1 ১ দায়ূদের একটি গীত। সদাপ্রভুু আমার পালক; আমার অভাব হবে না।

Yahweh, you [care for] me [like] a shepherd [cares for his sheep]. [So] I have everything that I need.

2 ২ তিনি আমাকে সবুজ চারণভূমিতে শোয়ান; তিনি শান্ত জলের পাশে আমাকে পরিচালনা করেন।

You [encourage] me [and give me peace]; [you are like a shepherd] who leads [his sheep] to places where there is plenty of green grass [for them to eat], and lets them rest beside streams where the water [is flowing] slowly.

3 ৩ তিনি আমার প্রাণ ফিরিয়ে আনেন, তিনি তাঁর নামের জন্য আমাকে সঠিক পথে পরিচালনা করেন।

You renew my strength. You guide me along the roads that are the right ones [for me] in order that I can honor you.

4 ৪ যদি আমি মৃত্যু ছায়ার উপত্যকার মধ্যে দিয়ে যাই, আমি অমঙ্গলের ভয় করব না কারণ তুমি আমার সঙ্গে আছ; তোমার লাঠি এবং ছড়ি আমাকে সান্ত্বনা করে।

Even when I am walking through very dangerous dark ravines where I might be killed, I will not be afraid of anything because you are with me. You protect me [like a shepherd protects his sheep]. [He uses] his club and his walking stick [to protect them from being attacked by wild animals].

5 ৫ তুমি আমার শত্রুদের সাক্ষাৎে আমার সামনে একটি টেবিল প্রস্তুত করে থাক; তুমি আমার মাথা তেল দিয়ে অভিষিক্ত করেছ; আমার পানপাত্র উথলিয়ে পড়ছে।

You prepare a [great] feast for me, in a place where my enemies can see me. You [joyfully receive me], [as people joyfully receive the guests they have invited] [by] pouring [olive] oil over their heads. You have given me very many blessings!

6 ৬ নিশ্চয়ই ধার্ম্মিকতা ও ব্যবস্থার বিশ্বস্ততা আমার জীবনের সমস্ত দিন আমাকে অনুসরণ করবে এবং আমি চিরকাল সদাপ্রভুুর গৃহে বাস করব!

I am certain that you will be good to me and act mercifully toward me as long as I live; and [then, O] Yahweh, I will live in your home [in heaven] forever.
