গীতসংহিতা 140

1 ১ প্রধান বাদ্যকরের জন্য। দায়ূদের সঙ্গীত। সদাপ্রভুু, দুষ্টদের থেকে আমাকে উদ্ধার কর, হিংস্র মানুষ থেকে আমাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখ।

“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” Deliver me, O Lord, from an evil man; from a man of violence do thou keep me;

2 ২ তারা হৃদয়ে খারাপ পরিকল্পনা করে, তারা প্রতিদিন বিবাদকে নাড়িয়ে দেয়।

Who think over evil [resolves] in their heart, [who] every day are gathered together for war.

3 ৩ তাদের জিভের ক্ষত বিষধর সাপের মত; তাদের ঠোঁটে সাপের বিষ।

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent: the poison of the adder is under their lips. (Selah)

4 ৪ সদাপ্রভুু, দুষ্টের হাত থেকে আমাকে দূরে রাখ, হিংস্র মানুষ থেকে আমাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখ যারা আমাকে ধাক্কা দেবার পরিকল্পনা করেছে।

Preserve me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked, from the man of violence do thou keep me, who think of overthrowing my steps.

5 ৫ অহঙ্কারীরা আমার জন্য ফাঁদ পেতেছে; তারা জাল পেতে রেখেছে, তারা আমার জন্য ফাঁদ পেতেছে।

The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the side of [my] track; traps have they set for me. (Selah)

6 ৬ আমি সদাপ্রভুুকে বললাম, “তুমি আমার ঈশ্বর; ক্ষমা করার জন্য আমার প্রার্থনা শোনো।”

I have said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: give ear, O Lord, to the voice of my supplications.

7 ৭ সদাপ্রভুু, আমার প্রভু, তুমি পরিত্রানের শক্তি, তুমি যুদ্ধের দিনের আমাকে রক্ষা করেছ।

O thou Eternal Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head on the day of battle.

8 ৮ সদাপ্রভুু, দুষ্টের ইচ্ছা পূর্ণ কোরো না; তাদের চক্রান্ত সফল হতে দিও না।

Grant not, O Lord, the longings of the wicked; suffer not his wicked device to succeed: lest they exalt themselves. (Selah)

9 ৯ যারা আমাকে ঘেরে তাদের মাথা উঁচু করে; তাদের হুমকিকে তাদের ওপর এনে দেওয়া হোক;

[As for] the heads of those that encompass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 ১০ তাদের ওপরে জ্বলন্ত কয়লা পড়ুক, তাদের আগুনে, গভীর খাতে ছুঁড়ে দাও, কখনো যেন উঠতে না পারে।

Let burning coals be cast upon them: let them be thrown into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 ১১ মন্দ বক্তা পৃথিবীতে নিরাপদে থাকতে পারবে না; হিংস্র মানুষ মন্দকে শিকার করে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দেবে।

Let not the man of an [evil] tongue be established on the earth: may evil hunt down the violent man to his downfall.

12 ১২ আমি জানি যে সদাপ্রভুু বিবাদের কারণ বজায় রাখবে এবং দরিদ্রদের বিচার নিস্পন্ন করবেন।

I know that the Lord will procure right for the afflicted, [and] justice for the needy.

13 ১৩ অবশ্যই ধার্মিক লোকেরা তোমার নামে ধন্যবাদ দেবে; সরল লোকেরা তোমার সামনে বাস করবে।

Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell before thy presence.
