মথি 21
1 ১ পরে যখন তাঁরা যিরূশালেমের কাছে জৈতুন পাহাড়ে, বৈৎফগী গ্রামে এলেন, তখন যীশু দুই জন শিষ্যকে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন,
When they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethsphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples ahead,
2 ২ তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমরা সামনের ঐ গ্রামে যাও, আর সেখানে গিয়ে দেখতে পাবে, একটি গর্দ্দভী বাঁধা আছে, আর তার সঙ্গে একটি বাচ্চা তাদের খুলে আমার কাছে আন।
telling them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with it. Untie them and bring them to me.
3 ৩ আর যদি কেউ, তোমাদের কিছু বলে, তবে বলবে, এদেরকে প্রভুর প্রয়োজন আছে, তাতে সে তখনই তাদের পাঠিয়ে দেবে।”
If anyone says anything to you, say, ‘The Lord has need of them.’ And immediately he will send them.”
Now all this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:
5 ৫ “তোমরা সিয়োন-কন্যাকে বল, দেখ, তোমার রাজা তোমার কাছে আসছেন, তিনি নম্র, ও গর্দ্দভ-শাবকের উপরে বসে আসছেন।”
“Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, yoʋr king is coming to yoʋ, humble and mounted on a donkey, and a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”
So the disciples went and did just as Jesus had directed them.
They brought the donkey and the colt and laid on them their garments, and Jesus sat on them.
8 ৮ আর ভিড়ের মধ্য অধিকাংশ লোক নিজের নিজের কাপড় রাস্তায় পেতে দিল এবং অন্য অন্য লোকেরা গাছের ডাল কেটে রাস্তায় ছড়িয়ে দিল।
A very large crowd spread their garments on the road, and others cut down branches from the trees and also spread them on the road.
9 ৯ আর যে সমস্ত লোক তাঁর আগে ও পিছনে যাচ্ছিল, তারা চিত্কার করে বলতে লাগল, হোশান্না দায়ূদ-সন্তান, ধন্য, যিনি প্রভুর নামে আসছেন, স্বর্গেও হোশান্না।
The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed were crying out, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
As he came into Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?”
So the crowds were saying, “This is Jesus the prophet, who is from Nazareth of Galilee.”
12 ১২ পরে যীশু ঈশ্বরের উপাসনা গৃহে প্রবেশ করলেন এবং যত লোক মন্দিরে কেনা বেচা করছিল, সেই সবাইকে বের করে দিলেন এবং যারা টাকা বদল করার জন্য টেবিল সাজিয়ে বসেছিল ও যারা পায়রা বিক্রি করছিল, তাদের সব কিছু উল্টিয়ে ফেললেন,
Then Jesus entered the courts of God's temple and drove out all who were selling and buying there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves.
13 ১৩ আর তাদের বললেন, “লেখা আছে, আমার ঘরকে প্রার্থনার ঘর বলা হবে,” কিন্তু তোমরা এটাকে “ডাকাতদের গুহায় পরিণত করেছো।”
And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”
Then the lame and the blind came to him in the temple courts, and he healed them.
15 ১৫ কিন্তু প্রধান যাজকগণ ও ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকেরা তাঁর সমস্ত আশ্চর্য্য কাজ দেখে এবং যে ছেলেমেয়েরা হোশান্না দায়ূদ-সন্তান, বলে মন্দিরে চিত্কার করছিল তাদের দেখে রেগে গেল,
But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did and the children crying out in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant
16 ১৬ এবং তাঁকে বলল, “শুনছ, এরা কি বলছে?” যীশু তাদের বললেন, “হ্যাঁ, তোমরা কি কখনও পড়নি যে, তুমি ছোট শিশু ও দুধ খাওয়া বাচ্চার মুখ থেকে প্রশংসার ব্যবস্থা করেছ?”
and said to him, “Do yoʋ hear what these children are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes, have you never read, ‘Out of the mouths of babies and nursing infants yoʋ have prepared praise’?”
And leaving them, he went out of the city to Bethany and spent the night there.
Early in the morning, as Jesus was returning to the city, he was hungry.
19 ১৯ রাস্তার পাশে একটি ডুমুরগাছ দেখে তিনি তার কাছে গেলেন এবং পাতা ছাড়া আর কিছুই দেখতে পেলেন না। তখন তিনি গাছটিকে বললেন, “আর কখনও তোমাতে ফল না ধরুক,” আর হঠাৎ সেই ডুমুরগাছটা শুকিয়ে গেল। (aiōn g165)
Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, he came to it and found nothing on it but leaves. Then he said to it, “May there never be any fruit from yoʋ again.” And at once the fig tree withered. (aiōn g165)
When the disciples saw it, they were amazed, saying, “How did the fig tree wither all at once?”
21 ২১ যীশু এর উত্তরে তাঁদের বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, যদি তোমাদের বিশ্বাস থাকে, আর সন্দেহ না কর, তবে তোমরা খালি ডুমুরগাছের প্রতি এমন করতে পারবে, তা নয়, কিন্তু এই পাহাড়কেও যদি বল, উপড়িয়ে যাও, আর সমুদ্রে গিয়ে পড়, তাই হবে।”
Jesus answered them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
And if you have faith, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
23 ২৩ পরে যীশু মন্দিরে এলেন এবং যখন তিনি উপদেশ দিচ্ছিলেন, সে দিনের প্রধান যাজকেরা ও লোকদের প্রাচীনেরা তাঁর কাছে এসে বলল, “তুমি কোন ক্ষমতায় এই সব করছ? আর কেই বা তোমাকে এই ক্ষমতা দিয়েছে?”
When he entered the temple courts, the chief priests and the elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching and said, “By what authority are yoʋ doing these things? And who gave yoʋ this authority?”
24 ২৪ যীশু উত্তরে তাদের বললেন, “আমিও তোমাদের একটি কথা জিজ্ঞাসা করব, যদি তোমরা আমাকে উত্তর দাও, তা হলে আমি তোমাদের বলবো, কোন ক্ষমতায় এসব করছি।”
Jesus answered them, “I will also ask you one question. If you tell me the answer, I will also tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
25 ২৫ যোহনের বাপ্তিষ্ম কোথা থেকে হয়েছিল? স্বর্গরাজ্য থেকে না মানুষের থেকে? তখন তারা নিজেদের মধ্যে আলোচনা করে বলল, “যদি বলি স্বর্গ থেকে, তাহলে এ আমাদেরকে বলবে, তবে তোমরা তাঁকে বিশ্বাস কর নি কেন?”
Where did John's authority to baptize come from? From heaven or from men?” So they discussed it among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
But we are afraid of what the crowd might do if we say, ‘From men,’ for everyone regards John as a prophet.”
27 ২৭ তখন তারা যীশুকে বলল, “আমরা জানি না।” তিনিও তাদের বললেন, “তবে আমিও কি ক্ষমতায় এসব করছি, তা তোমাদের বলব না।”
So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” Then he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
28 ২৮ কিন্তু তোমরা কি মনে কর? এক ব্যক্তির দুটি ছেলে ছিল, তিনি প্রথম জনের কাছে গিয়ে বললেন, “পুত্র, যাও, আজ আঙ্গুর ক্ষেতে কাজ কর।”
“But what do you think? A man had two sons. He went to his first son and said, ‘Son, go work today in my vineyard.’
His son answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind and went.
Then the man went to his second son and said the same thing. His second son answered, ‘I will go, sir,’ but he did not go.
31 ৩১ সেই দুইজনের মধ্যে কে বাবার ইচ্ছা পালন করল? তারা বলল, “প্রথম জন।” যীশু তাদের বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, কর আদায়কারীরা ও বেশ্যারা তোমাদের আগে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করছে।”
Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
32 ৩২ কারণ যোহন ধার্মিকতার পথ দিয়ে তোমাদের কাছে এলেন, আর তোমরা তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করলে না, কিন্তু কর আদায়কারীরাও বেশ্যারা তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করল, আর তোমরা তা দেখেও এই রকম মন পরিবর্তন করলে না যে, তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করবে।
For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but tax collectors and prostitutes believed him. Yet even after you saw it, you did not change your minds and believe him.
33 ৩৩ অন্য আর একটি গল্প শোন, একজন আঙুর ক্ষেতের মালিক ছিলেন, তিনি আঙুর ক্ষেত করে তার চারিদিকে বেড়া দিলেন, ও তার মধ্যে আঙুর রস বার করার জন্য একটা আঙুর মাড়াবার জন্য গর্ত খুঁড়লেন এবং দেখাশোনা করার জন্য উঁচু ঘর তৈরী করলেন, পরে কৃষকদের হাতে তা জমা দিয়ে অন্য দেশে চলে গেলেন।
“Listen to another parable: There was a master of a house who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a winepress in it, built a tower, leased it to farmers, and left the country.
When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers to receive his fruit.
But the farmers took his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned yet another.
Again he sent other servants, more than the first. But the farmers treated them in the same way.
Last of all, he sent them his son, saying, ‘They will have respect for my son.’
38 ৩৮ কিন্তু কৃষকেরা মালিকের ছেলেকে দেখে বলল, “এই ব্যক্তিই উত্তরাধিকারী, এসো, আমরা একে মেরে ফেলে এর উত্তরাধিকার কেড়ে নিই।”
But when the farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and take possession of his inheritance.’
So they took him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?”
41 ৪১ তারা তাঁকে বলল, “মালিক সেই মন্দ লোকেদেরও একেবারে ধ্বংস করবেন এবং সেই ক্ষেত এমন অন্য কৃষকদেরকে জমা দেবেন, যারা ফলের দিনের তাঁকে ফল দেবে।”
They said to him, “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end and lease the vineyard to other farmers who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”
42 ৪২ যীশু তাদের বললেন, “তোমরা কি কখনও শাস্ত্রে পড়নি, যে পাথরটাকে মিস্ত্রীরা অগ্রাহ্য করেছিল, সেই পাথরটাই কোণের প্রধান পাথর হয়ে উঠল, প্রভু ঈশ্বর এই কাজ করেছেন, আর এটা আমাদের চোখে সত্যিই খুব আশ্চর্য্য কাজ?”
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord's doing, and it is amazing in our eyes’?
43 ৪৩ এই জন্য আমি তোমাদের বলছি, “তোমাদের কাছ থেকে ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য কেড়ে নাওয়া যাবে এবং এমন এক জাতিকে দেওয়া হবে, যে জাতি তার ফল দেবে।”
Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
44 ৪৪ আর এই পাথরের উপরে যে পড়বে, সে ভগ্ন হবে, কিন্তু এই পাথর যার উপরে পড়বে, তাকে চূরমার করে ফেলবে।
He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus' parables, they knew he was speaking about them.
Although they were looking for a way to arrest him, they were afraid of the crowds, because the people regarded him as a prophet.
