At that time came the disciples to Jesus, saying, Who is to be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
And Jesus calling to Him a little child, set it in the midst of them,
3 ৩ এবং বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, তোমরা যদি মন না ফেরাও ও শিশুদের মতো না হয়ে ওঠ, তবে কোন ভাবেই স্বর্গরাজ্যে প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না।”
and said, Verily I declare unto you, unless ye be converted, and become like little children, ye shall never enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he shall be greatest in the kingdom of heaven:
and whoever shall receive one such little child for my sake, receiveth me:
6 ৬ কিন্তু যেসব শিশুরা আমাকে বিশ্বাস করে এবং যদি কেউ তাদের বিশ্বাসে বাধা দেয়, তার গলায় ভারী ভারি পাথর বেঁধে তাকে সমুদ্রের গভীর জলে ডুবিয়ে দেওয়া বরং তার পক্ষে ভাল।
but whosoever shall lay a stumbling-block in the way of one of these little ones, who believe in me, it were better for him that a milstone were hung on his neck, and that he were thrown into the sea.
7 ৭ লোককে বাধার কারণ এবং মানুষের পাপের কারণ হওয়ার জন্য জগতকে ধিক! কারণ বাধার দিন অবশ্যই আসবে, কিন্তু ধিক সেই ব্যক্তিকে, যার মাধ্যমে তা আসে।
Wo will be to the world from such offenses; for it is of necessity that offenses come: but wo to that man by whom the offense cometh.
8 ৮ আর তোমার হাত কি পা যদি তোমায় পাপের পথে নিয়ে যায়, তবে তা কেটে ফেলে দাও, দুই হাত কিম্বা দুই পা নিয়ে নরকের অনন্ত আগুনে প্রবেশ করার থেকে বরং খোঁড়া কিম্বা পঙ্গু হয়ে ভালোভাবে জীবনে প্রবেশ করা তোমার ভাল। (aiōnios g166)
If then thy hand or thy foot cause thee to offend, cut them off and cast them from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire: (aiōnios g166)
9 ৯ আর তোমার চোখ যদি তোমায় পাপের পথে নিয়ে যায়, তবে তা উপড়িয়ে ফেলে দাও, দুই চোখ নিয়ে অগ্নিময় নরকে যাওয়ার থেকে বরং একচোখ নিয়ে জীবনে প্রবেশ করা তোমার ভাল। (Geenna g1067)
and if thine eye cause thee to offend, pluck it out and cast it from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life with but one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell-fire. (Geenna g1067)
10 ১০ এই ছোট শিশুদের একজনকেও তুচ্ছ কোর না, কারণ আমি তোমাদের বলছি, তাদের দূতগণ স্বর্গে সবদিন আমার স্বর্গস্থ পিতার মুখ দর্শন করেন।
See that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I tell you, that their angels in heaven do continually appear in the presence of my father, who is in heaven:
11 ১১
for the Son of man came from thence to save that which was lost.
12 ১২ তোমাদের কি মনে হয়? কোন ব্যক্তির যদি একশটি ভেড়া থাকে, আর তাদের মধ্যে একটি হারিয়ে যায়, তবে সে কি অন্য নিরানব্বইটাকে ছেড়ে, পাহাড়ে গিয়ে ঐ হারানো ভেড়াটির খোঁজ করে না?
What think ye? if any man had an hundred sheep, and one of them should go astray, would he not leave the ninety and nine, and go upon the hills, and seek that which is gone astray?
13 ১৩ আর যদি সে কোন ভাবে সেটি পায়, তবে আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, যে নিরানব্বইটা হারিয়ে যায় নি, তাদের থেকে সে বেশি আনন্দ করে যেটা সে হারিয়ে ফেলেছিল সেটিকে খুঁজে পেয়ে।
And if he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more on account of that, than of the ninety nine which went not astray.
Even so it is not the will of your heavenly Father, that any one of these little ones should be lost.
15 ১৫ আর যদি তোমার ভাই তোমার বিরুদ্ধে কোন অপরাধ করে, তবে তাঁর কাছে যাও এবং গোপনে তাঁর সেই দোষ তাঁকে বুঝিয়ে দাও। সে যদি তোমার কথা শোনে, তবে তুমি আবার তোমার ভাইকে ফিরে পেলে।
And if thy brother trespass against thee, go and expostulate with him alone; if he hearken to thee, thou hast gained thy brother:
16 ১৬ কিন্তু যদি সে না শোনে, তবে আরও দুই একজন ব্যক্তিকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে যাও, যেন “দুই কিম্বা তিনজন সাক্ষীর মুখে সমস্ত কথা সঠিক প্রমাণিত করা হয়।”
but if he regard thee not, take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 ১৭ আর যদি সে তাদের কথা অমান্য করে, তখন মণ্ডলীকে বল, আর যদি মণ্ডলীর কথাও অমান্য করে তবে সে তোমার কাছে অযিহুদী লোকের ও কর আদায়কারীদের মতো হোক।
And if he disregard them, tell it to the church: but if he disregard the church too, let him be unto thee as an heathen and a publican.
18 ১৮ আমি তোমাদেরকে সত্য বলছি, তোমরা পৃথিবীতে যা কিছু বাঁধবে, তা স্বর্গে বাঁধা হবে এবং পৃথিবীতে যা কিছু খুলবে তা স্বর্গে খোলা হবে।
Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.
19 ১৯ আমি তোমাদের কে সত্য বলছি, পৃথিবীতে তোমাদের মধ্যে দুই জন যদি একমত হয়ে কোন বিষয় নিয়ে প্রার্থনা কর, তবে আমার স্বর্গের পিতা তোমাদের জন্য তা পূরণ করবেন।
And I tell you moreover, that if but two of you shall agree on earth concerning any thing which they would ask for, it shall be granted them by my Father who is in heaven:
for where two or three are assembled together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
21 ২১ তখন পিতর তাঁর কাছে এসে বললেন, “প্রভু, আমার ভাই আমার কাছে কত বার অপরাধ করলে আমি তাকে ক্ষমা করব? সাতবার পর্যন্ত কি?”
Then Peter came to Him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother offend against me, and I forgive him? to seven times?
Jesus answereth him, I tell thee not, to seven times, but to seventy times seven.
And therefore the gospel-kingdom is like unto a king, who had a mind to settle accounts with his servants:
24 ২৪ তিনি হিসাব আরম্ভ করলে তখন এক জনকে তাঁর কাছে নিয়ে আসা হল, যে তাঁর কাছে দশ হাজার তালন্ত (এক তালন্ত সমান পনেরো বত্সরের পারিশ্রমিকের সমানের থেকেও বেশী টাকা) ঋণ নিয়েছিল।
and when he began to reckon, there was brought to him one, who was debtor in ten thousand talents:
25 ২৫ কিন্তু তার শোধ করার সামর্থ না থাকায় তার প্রভু তাকে ও তার স্ত্রী, সন্তানদের এবং সব কিছু বিক্রি করে আদায় করতে আদেশ দিলেন।
and not having it to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife and children and all that he had; and payment to be made.
26 ২৬ তাতে সেই দাস তাঁর পায়ে পড়ে প্রণাম করে বলল, হে প্রভু, আমার প্রতি ধৈর্য্য ধরুন, আমি আপনার সব কিছু শোধ করব।
The servant therefore fell prostrate before him, saying, Lord, bear with me a while, and I will pay thee all:
and his lord had compassion on him, and discharged him, and forgave him the debt.
28 ২৮ কিন্তু সেই দাস বাইরে গিয়ে তার সহদাসদের মধ্য এক জনকে দেখতে পেল, যে তার একশ সিকি ধার নিয়েছিল, সে তার গলাটিপে ধরে বলল, “তুই যা ধার নিয়েছিস, তা শোধ কর।”
But that same servant, as he was going out, met with one of his fellow-servants, who owed him but an hundred pence; and he laid hold on him and seized him by the throat, saying, Pay me what thou owest me:
and his fellow-servant fell down at his feet, and intreated him, saying, Bear with me a while, and I will pay thee all.
And he would not: but went away and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt.
31 ৩১ এই ব্যাপার দেখে তার অন্য দাসেরা খুবই দুঃখিত হল, আর তাদের রাজার কাছে গিয়ে সমস্ত বিষয়ে জানিয়ে দিল।
Now when his fellow-servants saw what was done, they were very much grieved, and came and acquainted their lord with all that had passed.
32 ৩২ তখন তার রাজা তাকে কাছে ডেকে বললেন, “দুষ্ট দাস! তুমি আমার কাছে অনুরোধ করেছিলে বলে আমি তোমার ঐ সমস্ত ঋণ ক্ষমা করেছিলাম,
Then his lord called for him again, and said to him, Thou wicked slave, I forgave thee all that vast debt at thy request,
and oughtest not thou to have had compassion on thy fellow-servant, even as I had on thee?
34 ৩৪ আর তার রাজা রেগে গিয়ে তাকে শাস্তি দেওয়ার জন্য জেলখানার রক্ষীদের কাছে তাকে সমর্পণ করলেন, যতক্ষণ না সে সমস্ত ঋণ শোধ করে।
And his lord being highly provoked delivered him to the officers, till he should pay all that was owing to him.
35 ৩৫ আমার স্বর্গীয় পিতাও তোমাদের প্রতি এমন করবেন, যদি তোমরা সবাই হৃদয় থেকে নিজের নিজের ভাইকে ক্ষমা না কর।
Thus will my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts their trespasses.
