When hee had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entred into Capernaum.
And a certaine Ceturions seruant was sicke and readie to die, which was deare vnto him.
3 ৩ তিনি যীশুর সংবাদ শুনে ইহূদিদের কয়েক জন প্রাচীনকে তাঁর কাছে অনুরোধ করার জন্য পাঠালেন, যেন তিনি এসে তাঁর দাসকে মরার থেকে রক্ষা করুন।
And when he heard of Iesus, hee sent vnto him the Elders of the Iewes, beseeching him that he would come, and heale his seruant.
4 ৪ তাঁরা যীশুর কাছে গিয়ে বিশেষভাবে অনুরোধ করে বলতে লাগলেন, “আপনি যেন তাঁর জন্য এই কাজ করেন, তিনি এর যোগ্য,”
So they came to Iesus, and besought him instantly, saying that hee was worthy that hee should doe this for him:
For he loueth, said they, our nation, and he hath built vs a Synagogue.
6 ৬ যীশু তাঁদের সঙ্গে গেলেন, আর তিনি বাড়ির কাছাকাছি আসতেই শতপতি কয়েক জন বন্ধুদের দিয়ে তাঁকে বলে পাঠালেন, প্রভু, নিজেকে কষ্ট দেবেন না; কারণ আমি এমন যোগ্য নই যে, আপনি আমার ছাদের নীচে আসেন;
Then Iesus went with them: but when he was now not farre from the house, the Centurion sent friendes to him, saying vnto him, Lord, trouble not thy selfe: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter vnder my roofe:
7 ৭ সেজন্য আমাকেও আপনার কাছে আসার যোগ্য বলে মনে হলো না; আপনি শুধু মুখে বলুন, তাতেই আমার দাস সুস্থ হবে।
Wherefore I thought not my selfe worthy to come vnto thee: but say the word, and my seruant shalbe whole:
8 ৮ কারণ আমিও অন্যের ক্ষমতার অধীনে নিযুক্ত লোক, আবার সেনাগণ আমার অধীনে; আর আমি তাদের এক জনকে, যাও বললে সে যায় এবং অন্যকে এস বললে সে আসে, আর আমার দাসকে এই কাজ কর বললে সে তা করে।
For I likewise am a man set vnder authoritie, and haue vnder mee souldiers, and I say vnto one, Goe, and he goeth: and to another, Come, and hee commeth: and to my seruant, Doe this, and he doeth it.
9 ৯ এই কথা শুনে যীশু তাঁর বিষয়ে আশ্চর্য্য হলেন এবং যে লোকেরা তাঁর পিছনে আসছিল, তিনি তাদের দিকে ফিরে বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের বলছি, ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে এত বড় বিশ্বাস কখনো দেখতে পাইনি।”
When Iesus heard these things, he marueiled at him, and turned him, and said to the people, that followed him, I say vnto you, I haue not found so great faith, no not in Israel.
And when they that were sent, turned backe to the house, they founde the seruant that was sicke, whole.
And it came to passe the day after, that he went into a citie called Nain, and many of his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.
12 ১২ যখন তিনি সেই শহরের ফটকের কাছে এলেন, তখন দেখতে পেলেন, লোকেরা একটি মৃত মানুষকে বয়ে বাইরে নিয়ে যাচ্ছিল; সে তার মায়ের একমাত্র ছেলে এবং সেই মা বিধবা ছিলেন; আর শহরের অনেক লোক তার সঙ্গে ছিল।
Nowe when hee came neere to the gate of the citie, behold, there was a dead man caried out, who was the onely begotten sonne of his mother, which was a widowe, and much people of the citie was with her.
And when the Lord sawe her, he had compassion on her, and said vnto her, Weepe not.
14 ১৪ পরে তিনি কাছে গিয়ে খাট স্পর্শ করলেন; আর যারা বয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছিল তারা দাঁড়াল। তিনি বললেন, “হে যুবক, তোমাকে বলছি ওঠো।”
And he went and touched the coffin (and they that bare him, stoode still) and he said, Yong man, I say vnto thee, Arise.
And he that was dead, sate vp, and began to speake, and he deliuered him to his mother.
16 ১৬ তখন সবাই ভয় পেল এবং ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করে বলতে লাগল, আমাদের মধ্যে একজন মহান ভাববাদী এসেছেন, আর ঈশ্বর নিজের প্রজাদের সাহায্য করেছেন।
Then there came a feare on them all, and they glorified God, saying, A great Prophet is risen among vs, and God hath visited his people.
And this rumour of him went foorth throughout all Iudea, and throughout all the region round about.
And the disciples of Iohn shewed him of all these things.
19 ১৯ তাতে যোহন নিজের দুজন শিষ্যকে ডাকলেন ও তাদের প্রভুর কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে পাঠালেন, যাঁর আগমন হবে, সেই ব্যক্তি কি আপনি? না, আমরা অন্য কারও অপেক্ষায় থাকব?
So Iohn called vnto him two certaine men of his disciples, and sent them to Iesus, saying, Art thou hee that should come, or shall we waite for another?
20 ২০ পরে সেই দুই ব্যক্তি তাঁর কাছে এসে বলল, “বাপ্তিষ্মদাতা যোহন আমাদের আপনার কাছে এই কথা বলে পাঠিয়েছেন, যাঁর আগমন হবে, সেই ব্যক্তি কি আপনি? না, আমরা অন্য কারও অপেক্ষায় থাকব?”
And when the men were come vnto him, they said, Iohn Baptist hath sent vs vnto thee, saying, Art thou hee that should come, or shall we waite for another?
21 ২১ সে দিন তিনি অনেক লোককে রোগ, ব্যাধি ও মন্দ আত্মা থেকে সুস্থ করলেন এবং অনেক অন্ধের চোখ ভাল করে দিলেন।
And at that time, he cured many of their sickenesses, and plagues, and of euill spirites, and vnto many blinde men he gaue sight freely.
22 ২২ পরে তিনি সেই দুই জন দূতকে এই উত্তর দিলেন, “তোমরা যাও এবং যা শুনেছ ও দেখেছ, সেই খবর যোহনকে দাও; অন্ধরা দেখতে পাচ্ছে, খোঁড়ারা হাঁটছে, কুষ্ঠ রুগীরা শুদ্ধ হচ্ছে ও বধিরেরা শুনতে পাচ্ছে, মৃতেরা জীবিত হচ্ছে, গরিবদের কাছে সুসমাচার প্রচার করা হচ্ছে।
And Iesus answered, and saide vnto them, Goe your wayes and shewe Iohn, what things ye haue seene and heard: that the blinde see, the halt goe, the lepers are cleansed, the deafe heare, the dead are raised, and the poore receiue the Gospel.
And blessed is hee, that shall not be offended in me.
24 ২৪ যোহনের দূতেরা চলে যাওয়ার পর যীশু জনতাকে যোহনের বিষয়ে বলতে লাগলেন, “তোমরা মরূপ্রান্তে কি দেখতে গিয়েছিলে? কি বাতাসে দুলছে এমন একটি নল?
And when the messengers of Iohn were departed, hee began to speake vnto the people, of Iohn, What went ye out into the wildernes to see? A reede shaken with the winde?
25 ২৫ তবে কি দেখতে গিয়েছিলে? কি সুন্দর পোষাক পরা কোনও লোককে? দেখ, যারা দামী পোষাক পরে এবং ভোগবিলাসে এবং সম্মানের সহিত জীবন যাপন করে, তারা রাজবাড়িতে থাকে।
But what went ye out to see? A man clothed in soft rayment? beholde, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and liue delicately, are in Kings courtes.
26 ২৬ তবে কি দেখতে গিয়েছিলে? কি একজন ভাববাদীকে দেখবার জন্য? হ্যাঁ, আমি তোমাদের বলছি ভাববাদী থেকেও শ্রেষ্ঠ ব্যক্তিকে।
But what went ye foorth to see? A Prophet? yea, I say to you, and greater then a Prophet.
27 ২৭ ইনি সেই ব্যক্তি,” যাঁর বিষয়ে লেখা আছে, “দেখ আমি আমার দূতকে তোমার আগে পাঠাব, সে তোমার আগে তোমার রাস্তা তৈরী করবে।
This is he of whom it is written, Beholde, I sende my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 ২৮ আমি তোমাদের বলছি, স্ত্রীলোকের গর্ভে যারা জন্ম গ্রহণ করেছে তাদের মধ্যে যোহন থেকে মহান কেউই নেই; তবুও ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে সবথেকে ছোট যে ব্যক্তি, সে তাঁর থেকে মহান।”
For I say vnto you, there is no greater Prophet then Iohn, among them that are begotten of women: neuerthelesse, hee that is the least in the kingdome of God, is greater then he.
29 ২৯ আর সমস্ত লোক ও কর আদায়কারীরা যারা যোহনের বাপ্তিষ্মের বাপ্তাইজিত হয়েছে এই কথা শুনে তারা ঈশ্বরকে ধার্মিক বলে স্বীকার করল;
Then all the people that heard, and the Publicanes iustified God, being baptized with the baptisme of Iohn.
30 ৩০ কিন্তু ফরীশী ও ব্যবস্থার গুরুরা যারা যোহনের কাছে বাপ্তিষ্ম নেয়নি তারা নিজেদের বিষয়ে ঈশ্বরের পরিকল্পনাকে ব্যর্থ করল।
But the Pharises and the expounders of the Law despised the counsell of God against themselues, and were not baptized of him.
And the Lord saide, Whereunto shall I liken the men of this generation? and what thing are they like vnto?
32 ৩২ তারা এমন ছোট বালকের মতো, যারা বাজারে বসে একজন অন্য এক জনকে ডেকে বলল, আমরা তোমাদের কাছে বাঁশী বাজালাম, তোমরা নাচলে না; এবং আমরা দুঃখ প্রকাশ করলাম, তোমরা কাঁদলে না;
They are like vnto litle children sitting in the market place, and crying one to another, and saying, We haue piped vnto you, and ye haue not daunced: we haue mourned to you, and ye haue not wept.
For Iohn Baptist came, neither eating bread, nor drinking wine: and ye say, He hath the deuil.
34 ৩৪ মনুষ্যপুত্র এসে ভোজন পান করেন, আর তোমরা বল, ঐ দেখ, একজন পেটুক ও মাতাল, কর আদায়কারীদের ও পাপীদের বন্ধু।
The Sonne of man is come, and eateth and drinketh: and ye say, Beholde, a man which is a glutton, and a drinker of wine, a friend of Publicanes and sinners:
But wisdome is iustified of all her children.
36 ৩৬ আর ফরীশীদের মধ্যে একজন যীশুকে তার সঙ্গে ভোজন করতে নিমন্ত্রণ করল। তাতে তিনি সেই ফরীশীর বাড়িতে গিয়ে ভোজনে বসলেন।
And one of the Pharises desired him that hee would eate with him: and hee went into the Pharises house, and sate downe at table.
37 ৩৭ আর দেখ, সেই শহরে এক পাপী স্ত্রীলোক ছিল; সে যখন জানতে পারল, তিনি সেই ফরীশীর বাড়িতে খেতে বসেছেন, তখন একটি শ্বেত পাথরের পাত্রে সুগন্ধি তেল নিয়ে আসল
And beholde, a woman in the citie, which was a sinner, when she knewe that Iesus sate at table in the Pharises house, shee brought a boxe of oyntment.
38 ৩৮ এবং পিছন দিকে তাঁর পায়ের কাছে দাঁড়িয়ে কেঁদে কেঁদে সে চোখের জলে তাঁর পা ভেজাতে লাগল এবং তার মাথার চুল দিয়ে পা মুছিয়ে দিল, আর তাঁর পায়ে চুমু দিয়ে সেই সুগন্ধি তেলে অভিষেক করতে লাগল।
And shee stoode at his feete behinde him weeping, and began to wash his feete with teares, and did wipe them with the heares of her head, and kissed his feete, and anoynted them with the oyntment.
39 ৩৯ এই দেখে, যে ফরীশী তাঁকে নিমন্ত্রণ করেছিল, সে মনে মনে বলল, এ যদি ভাববাদী হত, তবে নিশ্চয় জানতে পারত, একে যে স্পর্শ করছে, সে কে এবং কি ধরনের স্ত্রীলোক, কারণ সে পাপী।
Nowe when the Pharise which bade him, saw it, he spake within himselfe, saying, If this man were a Prophet, hee woulde surely haue knowen who, and what maner of woman this is which toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
And Iesus answered, and saide vnto him, Simon, I haue somewhat to say vnto thee. And he said, Master, say on.
There was a certaine lender which had two detters: the one ought fiue hundreth pence, and the other fiftie:
42 ৪২ তাদের শোধ করার ক্ষমতা না থাকার জন্য তিনি দুজনকেই ক্ষমা করলেন। তাদের মধ্যে কে তাঁকে বেশি ভালবাসবে?
When they had nothing to pay, he forgaue them both: Which of them therefore, tell mee, will loue him most?
Simon answered, and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgaue most. And he said vnto him, Thou hast truely iudged.
44 ৪৪ আর তিনি সেই স্ত্রীলোকটীর দিকে ফিরে শিমোনকে বললেন, “এই স্ত্রীলোকটীকে দেখছ? আমি তোমার বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করলাম, তুমি আমার পা ধোয়ার জল দিলে না, কিন্তু এই স্ত্রীলোকটী চোখের জলে আমার পা ভিজিয়েছে ও নিজের চুল দিয়ে পা মুছিয়ে দিয়েছে।
Then he turned to the woman, and said vnto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entred into thine house, and thou gauest mee no water to my feete: but she hath washed my feete with teares, and wiped them with the heares of her head.
45 ৪৫ তুমি আমাকে চুমু দিলে না, কিন্তু আমি ভিতরে আসার পর থেকে, এ আমার পায়ে চুমু দিয়েই চলেছে, থামেনি।
Thou gauest me no kisse: but she, since the time I came in, hath not ceased to kisse my feete.
Mine head with oyle thou didest not anoint: but she hath anoynted my feete with oyntment.
47 ৪৭ তাই, তোমাকে বলছি, এর বেশি পাপ থাকলেও, তার ক্ষমা হয়েছে; কারণ সে বেশি ভালবেসেছে; কিন্তু যাকে অল্প ক্ষমা করা হয়, সে অল্প ভালবাসে।
Wherefore I say vnto thee, many sinnes are forgiuen her: for she loued much. To whom a litle is forgiuen, he doeth loue a litle.
And he saide vnto her, Thy sinnes are forgiuen thee.
And they that sate at table with him, began to say within themselues, Who is this that euen forgiueth sinnes?
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saued thee: goe in peace.
