যোহন 15

1 ১ আমিই সত্য আঙুরলতা এবং আমার পিতা একজন আঙুর উত্পাদক।

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman:

2 ২ তিনি আমার থেকে সেই সব ডাল কেটে ফেলেন যে ডালে ফল ধরে না এবং যে ডালে ফল ধরে সেই ডালগুলি তিনি পরিষ্কার করেন যেন তারা আরো অনেক বেশি ফল দেয়।

every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away, and every one that beareth fruit, He purgeth, that it may bear more fruit.

3 ৩ আমি যে বার্তার কথা তোমাদের আগে বলেছি তার জন্য তোমরা আগে থেকেই শুচি হয়েছ।

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 ৪ আমাতে থাক এবং আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে। যেমন আঙুর গাছের থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে কোনো ডাল নিজের থেকে ফল দিতে পারে না, তেমনই তোমরা যদি আমার মধ্যে না থাক তবে তোমরাও দিতে পার না।

Abide therefore in me, and I will abide in you: for as the branch cannot bear fruit of it self, unless it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 ৫ আমি আঙুরগাছ; তোমরা শাখা প্রশাখা। যে কেউ আমার মধ্যে থাকে এবং আমি তার মধ্যে, সেই লোক অনেক ফলে ফলবান হবে, যে আমার থেকে দূরে থাকে সে কিছুই করতে পারে না।

I am the vine, ye are the branches; he that abideth in me, and I in him, beareth much fruit: but without me ye can do nothing.

6 ৬ যদি কেউ আমাতে না থাকে, তাকে ডালের মত ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দেওয়া হয় এবং সে শুকিয়ে যায়; লোকেরা ডালগুলো জড়ো করে সেগুলোকে আগুনের মধ্যে ফেলে দেয় ও সেগুলো পুড়ে যায়।

If any one abide not in me, he is cast out as a useless branch and withereth: and they gather them up, and throw them into the fire, and they are burnt.

7 ৭ যদি তোমরা আমার মধ্যে থাক এবং আমার কথাগুলো যদি তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকে, তবে তোমাদের যা ইচ্ছা চাও এবং আমি তোমাদের জন্য তাই করব।

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask what ye will, and it shall be granted you.

8 ৮ এতে আমার পিতা মহিমান্বিত হন, যদি তোমরা অনেক ফলে ফলবান হও তবে তোমরা আমার শিষ্য হবে।

Herein is my father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and so shall ye be my disciples.

9 ৯ পিতা যেমন আমাকে ভালবেসেছেন, আমিও তেমন তোমাদের ভালো বেসেছি; আমার ভালবাসার মধ্যে থাক।

As the Father hath loved me, and I have loved you, continue in my love:

10 ১০ তোমরা যদি আমার আদেশগুলি পালন কর, তোমরাও আমার ভালবাসার মধ্যে থাকবে যেমন আমি আমার পিতার আদেশগুলি পালন করেছি এবং তাঁর ভালবাসায় থাকি।

and if ye keep my commandments ye will continue in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and continue in his love.

11 ১১ আমি তোমাদের এই সব বিষয় বলেছি, যেন আমার আনন্দ তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকে এবং তোমাদের আনন্দ পূর্ণ হয়।

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy in you may continue, and that your joy may be full.

12 ১২ আমার আদেশ এই, যেন তোমরা একে অন্যকে ভালবাসবে, যেমন আমি তোমাদের ভালবেসেছি।

This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 ১৩ কারোর এর চেয়ে বেশি ভালবাসা নেই, যে নিজের বন্ধুদের জন্য নিজের জীবন দেবে।

Greater love hath no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends:

14 ১৪ তোমরা আমার বন্ধু যদি তোমরা এই সব জিনিস কর যা আমি তোমাদের আদেশ করি।

and ye are my friends, if ye do what I command you.

15 ১৫ বেশিদিন আর আমি তোমাদের দাস বলব না, কারণ, দাসেরা জানে না তাদের প্রভু কি করছে। আমি তোমাদের বন্ধু বলেছি, কারণ আমার পিতার কাছে যা শুনেছি, সবই তোমাদের প্রচার করছি।

I no longer stile you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth: but I have called you friends; for whatsoever I have heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

16 ১৬ তোমরা আমাকে মনোনীত কর নি, কিন্তু আমিই তোমাদের মনোনীত করেছি এবং তোমাদের যাওয়ার জন্য তোমাদের নিয়োগ করেছি এবং ফল বহন কর এবং তোমাদের ফল যেন থাকে। তোমরা আমার নামে পিতার কাছে যা কিছু চাইবে, তিনি তোমাদের তাই দেবেন।

Ye did not first choose me, but I chose you, and have appointed you to go forth, and bear fruit, and that your fruit should be lasting: that whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name, He may give it you.

17 ১৭ এই আদেশ আমি তোমাদের দিচ্ছি, যে তোমরা একে অন্যকে ভালবাসো।

These commands I give you, that ye should love one another.

18 ১৮ জগত যদি তোমাদের ঘৃণা করে, জেন যে এটা তোমাদের ঘৃণা করার আগে আমাকে ঘৃণা করেছে।

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me first.

19 ১৯ তোমরা যদি এই জগতের হতে, তবে জগত তোমাদের নিজের মত ভালবাসত; কিন্তু কারণ তোমরা জগতের নও এবং কারণ আমি তোমাদের জগতের বাইরে থেকে মনোনীত করেছি, এই জন্য জগত তোমাদের ঘৃণা করে।

If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 ২০ মনে রেখো আমি তোমাদের যা বলেছি, একজন দাস তার নিজের প্রভুর থেকে মহৎ নয়। যদিও তারা আমাকে কষ্ট দিয়েছে, তারা তোমাদেরও কষ্ট দেবে; তারা যদি আমার কথা রাখত, তারা তোমাদের কথাও রাখত।

Remember what I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have observed my word, they will also observe yours.

21 ২১ তারা আমার নামের জন্য তোমাদের উপর এই সব করবে, কারণ তারা জানে না কে আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন।

But all these things will they do unto you, on my account, because they know not Him that sent me.

22 ২২ আমি যদি না আসতাম এবং তাদের কাছে কথা না বলতাম, তবে তাদের পাপ হত না; কিন্তু এখন তাদের পাপ ঢাকবার কোনো উপায় নেই।

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.

23 ২৩ যে আমাকে ঘৃণা করে, সে আমার পিতাকেও ঘৃণা করে।

He that hateth me, hateth my Father also.

24 ২৪ যদি আমি তাদের মধ্যে কাজ না করতাম যা অন্য কেউ করে নি, তবে তারা পাপ করত না। কিন্তু এখন তারা আমাকে এবং আমার পিতা উভয়ের আচার্য্য কাজ দেখেছে এবং ঘৃণা করেছে।

If I had not done among them such works as no other ever did, they had not comparatively had sin: but now they have both seen, and hated, both me and my Father.

25 ২৫ এটা ঘটেছে যে তাদের নিয়মে লেখা এই কথা পূর্ণ হয়েছে: “তারা কোনো কারণ ছাড়া আমাকে ঘৃণা করেছে।”

But thus it is that the word might be fulfilled, which is written in their law, they hated me without a cause.

26 ২৬ যখন সহায়ক এসেছে, যাকে আমি পিতার কাছ থেকে তোমাদের কাছে পাঠিয়েছি, তিনি হলেন সত্যের আত্মা, যিনি পিতার কাছ থেকে এসেছেন, তিনি আমার বিষয়ে সাক্ষ্য দেবেন।

But when the comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, (even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, ) He shall testify of me.

27 ২৭ তোমরাও সাক্ষ্য বহন করবে কারণ তোমরা প্রথম থেকে আমার সঙ্গে আছ।

And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
