1 ১ তখন ইয়োব সদাপ্রভুকে উত্তর দিলেন এবং বললেন

Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 ২ “আমি জানি যে আপনি সমস্ত কিছু করতে পারেন, আপনার কোন সঙ্কল্পই থামতে পারে না।

I know that thou canst do every [thing], and [that] no thought can be withheld from thee.

3 ৩ আপনি আমাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করেছেন, ‘এ কে যে জ্ঞানহীন ভাবে আমার পরিকল্পনায় অন্ধকার নিয়ে আসে?’ এই জন্য, আমি কিছু কথা বলেছি যা আমি বুঝি না, আমার বোঝার জন্য জিনিস গুলো খুব কঠিন, যা আমি জানি না।

Who [is] he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that which I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

4 ৪ আপনি আমায় বললেন, ‘এখন শোন এবং আমি কথা বলি; আমি তোমাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করি এবং তুমি আমায় বলবে।’

Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will ask of thee, and declare thou to me.

5 ৫ আমি আমার কানে আপনার বিষয়ে শুনেছি, কিন্তু এখন আমার চোখ আপনাকে দেখল।

I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now my eye seeth thee.

6 ৬ তাই আমি নিজেকে ঘৃণা করি; আমি ধূলোয় এবং ছাইয়ে বসে অনুতাপ করি।”

Wherefore I abhor [myself], and repent in dust and ashes.

7 ৭ এই সমস্ত কথা ইয়োবকে বলার পর, সদাপ্রভু তৈমনীয় ইলীফসকে বললেন, “আমার প্রচন্ড ক্রোধ তোমার বিরুদ্ধে এবং তোমার বন্ধুদের বিরুদ্ধে জ্বলে উঠেছে, কারণ তোমরা আমার বিষয়ে সঠিক কথা বলনি যেমন আমার দাস ইয়োব বলেছে।

And it was [so], that after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me [the thing that is] right, as my servant Job [hath].

8 ৮ এখন এই জন্য, তোমাদের জন্য সাতটা ষাঁড় এবং সাতটা মেষ নাও, আমার দাস ইয়োবের কাছে যাও এবং তোমাদের জন্য হোমবলি উত্সর্গ কর। আমার দাস ইয়োব তোমাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করবে এবং আমি তার প্রার্থনা গ্রহণ করব, যাতে আমি তোমাদের মূর্খতার জন্য তোমাদের শাস্তি না দিই। তোমরা আমার বিষয়ে সঠিক কথা বলনি, যেমন আমার দাস ইয়োব বলেছে।”

Therefore take to you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you [after your] folly, in that ye have not spoken of me [the thing which is] right, like my servant Job.

9 ৯ তখন তৈমনীয় ইলীফস, শূহীয় বিলদদ ও নামাথীয় সোফার গেল এবং যেমন সদাপ্রভু আদেশ করেছিলেন তারা তেমনি করলেন এবং সদাপ্রভু ইয়োবকে গ্রহণ করলেন।

So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite [and] Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.

10 ১০ যখন ইয়োব তার বন্ধুদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করছিলেন, সদাপ্রভু তার ভাগ্য পুনঃস্থাপন করছিলেন। যা তার আগে ছিল সদাপ্রভু তার দ্বিগুন সম্পত্তি তাকে দিলেন।

And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 ১১ তারপর ইয়োবের সমস্ত ভায়েরা এবং বোনেরা এবং তারা সকলে যারা তার পূর্ব্ব পরিচিত তারা তার কাছে এল এবং তার বাড়িতে তার সঙ্গে খাবার খেল। তারা তার সঙ্গে দুঃখ করল এবং সমস্ত বিপদের জন্য তাকে সান্ত্বনা দিল যা সদাপ্রভু তার জীবনে এনেছিল। প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি ইয়োবকে এক এক টুকরো রূপা এবং সোনার কুণ্ডল দিয়েছিল।

Then came there to him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house: and they condoled with him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an ear-ring of gold.

12 ১২ সদাপ্রভু ইয়োবের প্রথম জীবনের থেকে শেষ জীবনকে বেশি আর্শীবাদ করলেন; তার চোদ্দ হাজার মেষ, ছয় হাজার উঠ, এক হাজার জোড়া বলদ এবং এক হাজার গর্দ্দভী হল।

So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

13 ১৩ তার আবার সাত ছেলে এবং তিন মেয়ে জন্মাল।

He had also seven sons, and three daughters.

14 ১৪ তিনি তার প্রথম মেয়ের নাম দিলেন যিমীমা, দ্বিতীয়ের নাম দিলেন কৎসীয়া এবং তৃতীয় মেয়ের নাম দিলেন কেরনহপ্পূক।

And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.

15 ১৫ সমস্ত দেশে ইয়োবের মেয়েদের মত সুন্দরী মেয়ে ছিল না। তাদের বাবা তাদের ভাইদের সঙ্গে তাদের উত্তরাধিকার দিলেন।

And in all the land were no women found [so] fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

16 ১৬ এসবের পর, ইয়োব আরও একশ চল্লিশ বছর বাঁচলেন, তিনি তার সন্তানদের দেখলেন এবং তার সন্তানদের সন্তান দেখলেন, চার পুরুষ পর্যন্ত।

After this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, [even] four generations.

17 ১৭ তারপর ইয়োব বৃদ্ধ এবং পূর্ণ আয়ু হয়ে মারা গেলেন।

So Job died, [being] old and full of days.
