1 ১ তখন ইয়োব উত্তর করলেন এবং বললেন,

But Job answered and said,

2 ২ “যারা শক্তি নেই তাকে তুমি কেমন করে সাহায্য করলে! যে হাতে শক্তি নেই সেই হাত তুমি কেমন করে রক্ষা করলে!

How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?

3 ৩ যার জ্ঞান নেই তাকে তুমি কেমন পরামর্শ দিলে এবং তাকে কেমন করে যুক্তিযুক্ত জ্ঞান প্রকাশ করলে!

How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou abundantly declared the thing as it is?

4 ৪ কার সাহায্যে তুমি এই সব কথা বলছ? কার আত্মা এটা যা তোমার থেকে বেরিয়ে আসছে?”

To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

5 ৫ বিলদদ উত্তর দিল, জলের ও তার বসবাসকারীদের নিচে মৃত্যু কাঁপে।

Dead things are formed from under the waters, and its inhabitants.

6 ৬ পাতাল ঈশ্বরের সামনে নগ্ন; ধ্বংস নিজেই ঢাকা নয় তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে। (Sheol h7585)

Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering. (Sheol h7585)

7 ৭ তিনি খালি স্থানের উপরে উত্তরভাগকে বাড়িয়েছেন এবং পৃথিবীকে শূন্যের উপরে ঝুলিয়েছেন।

He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.

8 ৮ তিনি ঘন মেঘে জলকে বেঁধেছেন, কিন্তু মেঘরাশি তার ভারে ভেঙে পড়ে না।

He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not torn under them.

9 ৯ তিনি চাঁদের মুখ ঢেকে দেন এবং তার ওপরে তাঁর মেঘ আচ্ছাদন করেন।

He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it.

10 ১০ তিনি জলের ওপরের স্তরে চক্রাকারে সীমারেখা খোদাই করেছেন, যেমন আলো এবং অন্ধকারের মাঝখানে।

He hath surrounded the waters with a border, until the day and night come to an end.

11 ১১ স্বর্গের স্তম্ভ কাঁপে ওঠে এবং তাঁর ধমকে চমকিয়ে ওঠে।

The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.

12 ১২ তিনি সমুদ্রকে তাঁর শক্তিতে শান্ত করতেন; তাঁর বুদ্ধিতে তিনি রাহাবকে ধ্বংস করেন।

He divideth the sea by his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.

13 ১৩ তাঁর নিঃশ্বাসে, তিনি আকাশ পরিষ্কার করেন; আকাশ গুলির বিপর্যয় দূর করেন; তাঁর হাত পালিয়ে যাওয়া সাপকে বিদ্ধ করেছিল।

By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

14 ১৪ দেখ, এগুলি কিন্তু তাঁর আঙ্গুলের পথ; তাঁর কত ছোট ফিসফিসানি আমরা শুনতে পাই! তাঁর শক্তির গর্জ্জন কে বুঝতে পারে?

Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
