1 ১ তখন শূহীয় বিলদদ উত্তর করলেন এবং বললেন,

Then Bildad [also] replied,

2 ২ “কর্তৃত্ব এবং ভয়ানকতা তাঁর; তিনি তাঁর স্বর্গের উঁচু জায়গায় শাস্তি বিধান করেন।

“God is very powerful; everyone should have an awesome respect for him; he causes everything to be peaceful high up in heaven.

3 ৩ তাঁর সৈন্য সংখ্যার কোন শেষ আছে? কার ওপর তাঁর আলো ওঠে না?

(Can anyone count the angels who are in his army [in heaven]?/No one can count the angels who are in his army [in heaven].) [RHQ] (Is there any place where his light does not shine?/There is no place where his light does not shine.) [RHQ]

4 ৪ তাহলে মানুষ কীভাবে ঈশ্বরের কাছে ধার্মিক হবে? যে একজন স্ত্রী থেকে জন্মেছে সে কীভাবে শুচি হবে, কীভাবে তাঁর কাছে গ্রহণ যোগ্য হবে?

So, (how can God consider anyone to be righteous?/God certainly cannot consider anyone to be righteous.) [RHQ] (How can any human being be truly pure?/No human being can be truly pure.) [RHQ]

5 ৫ দেখ, এমনকি চাঁদেরও কোন উজ্জ্বলতা নেই তাঁর কাছে; তারারা তাঁর চোখে শুদ্ধ নয়।

Consider this: God does not even consider the full moon to be bright, and he does not consider the stars to be spotless.

6 ৬ কত কম মানুষ, যারা কীটের মত একটি মানুষ, যে একটি কৃমির মত!”

So, (what about humans?/he does not consider humans [to be important].) [RHQ] They are [as insignificant as] [MET] maggots. [God does not think more highly of] people [than he thinks of] worms.”
