ইয়োবের বিবরণ 23

1 ১ তখন ইয়োব উত্তর দিলেন এবং বললেন,

Then Job answered and said,

2 ২ “এমনকি আজও আমার অভিযোগ তিক্ত; আমার আর্তনাদের চেয়ে আমার যন্ত্রণা অনেক বেশি।

Yes, I know that pleading is out of my reach; and his hand has been made heavy upon my groaning.

3 ৩ আহা, যদি আমি জানতাম কোথায় আমি তাঁকে পেতে পারি! আহা, আমি যদি তাঁর গৃহে যেতে পারি!

Who would then know that I might find him, and come to an end [of the matter]?

4 ৪ আমি আমার অভিযোগ তাঁর সামনে সাজিয়ে রাখব এবং তর্কবিতর্কে আমার মুখ পূর্ণ রাখব।

And I would plead my own cause, and he would fill my mouth with arguments.

5 ৫ তিনি আমায় যা উত্তর দেবেন তা আমি জানব এবং যা তিনি আমায় বলবেন বুঝতে পারব।

And I would know the remedies which he would speak to me, and I would perceive what he would tell me.

6 ৬ তাঁর মহা শক্তিতে কি তিনি আমার বিরুদ্ধে তর্ক বিতর্ক করবেন? না, তিনি আমার প্রতি মনোযোগ দেবেন।

Though he should come on me in [his] great strength, then he would not threaten me;

7 ৭ সেখানে সরল লোক হয়ত তাঁর সঙ্গে বিচার করতে পারে। এই ভাবে আমি হয়ত আমার বিচারকের থেকে চিরকালের মত মুক্তি পেতে পারি।

for truth and reproof are from him; and he would bring forth my judgement to an end.

8 ৮ দেখ, আমি সামনে যাই, কিন্তু তিনি সেখানে নেই এবং পিছনে যাই, কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে দেখতে পাই না

For if I shall go first, and exist no longer, still what do I know [concerning] the latter end?

9 ৯ বামদিকে, যেখানে তিনি কাজ করেন, কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে দেখতে পাই না এবং ডানদিকে, যেখানে তিনি নিজেকে লুকিয়েছেন যাতে আমি তাঁকে দেখতে না পাই।

When he wrought on the left hand, then I observed [it] not: his right hand shall encompass me but I shall not see [it].

10 ১০ কিন্তু তিনি জানেন আমি কোন পথ নিয়েছি; যখন তিনি আমায় পরীক্ষা করবেন, আমি সোনার মত বার হয়ে আসব।

For he knows already my way; and he has tried me as gold.

11 ১১ আমার পা তাঁর পায়ের চিহ্ন ধরে চলে; আমি তাঁর পথ ধরে রেখেছি এবং তার থেকে অন্য কোনদিকে ফিরি না।

And I will go forth according to his commandments, for I have kept his ways; and I shall not turn aside from his commandments,

12 ১২ তাঁর ঠোঁটের আদেশ থেকে আমি ফিরে যাই নি; তাঁর মুখের কথা আমি আমার হৃদয়ে সঞ্চয় করে রেখেছি, আমার প্রয়োজনীয় বিষয়েরও অধিক।

neither shall I transgress; but I have hid his words in my bosom.

13 ১৩ কিন্তু তিনি অপরিবর্তনীয়; কে তাঁকে পরিবর্তন করতে পারে? তাঁর প্রাণ যা চায়, তিনি তাই করেন।

And if too he has thus judged, who is he that has contradicted, for he has both willed [a thing] and done it.

14 ১৪ কারণ তিনি তা সফল করবেন যা আমার জন্য নিরূপিত করেছেন; এবং এরকম অনেক কিছু তাঁর মনে আছে।

15 ১৫ এই জন্য, আমি তাঁর উপস্থিতিতে আতঙ্কিত হই; যখন আমি তাঁর বিষয়ে ভাবি, আমি তাঁকে ভয় করি।

Therefore am I troubled at him; and when I was reproved, I thought of him. Therefore let me take good heed before him: I will consider, and be afraid of him.

16 ১৬ কারণ ঈশ্বর আমার হৃদয় দুর্বল করে বানিয়েছে; সর্বশক্তিমান আমায় আতঙ্কিত করেছেন।

But the Lord has softened my heart, and the Almighty has troubled me.

17 ১৭ এমন নয় যে আমি অন্ধকারের দ্বারা নীরব হয়ে আছি, না ঘন অন্ধকার আমার মুখ ঢেকে দিয়েছে।

For I knew not that darkness would come upon me, and thick darkness has covered [me] before my face.
