And it comes to pass, when Jeremiah finishes speaking to all the people all the words of their God YHWH, with which their God YHWH has sent him to them—all these words—

that Azariah son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and all the proud men, speak to Jeremiah, saying, “You are speaking falsehood; our God YHWH has not sent you to say, Do not enter Egypt to sojourn there;
3 ৩ কারণ নেরিয়ের ছেলে বারূক আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে তোমাকে উত্তেজিত করে তুলছে, যাতে কলদীয়দের হাতে আমাদের তুলে দিতে পারো। কারণ যাতে তারা আমাদের মেরে ফেলে এবং আমাদের বন্দী করে বাবিলে নিয়ে যায়।”
for Baruch son of Neriah is moving you against us, in order to give us up into the hand of the Chaldeans, to put us to death, and to remove us to Babylon.”
4 ৪ এই ভাবে কারেহের ছেলে যোহানন, সমস্ত সেনাপতিরা ও সমস্ত লোকেরা যিহূদা দেশে থাকার বিষয়ে সদাপ্রভুর কথা শুনতে অস্বীকার করল।
And Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces, and all the people, have not listened to the voice of YHWH, to dwell in the land of Judah;
5 ৫ কারেহের ছেলে যোহানন ও সৈন্যদের সমস্ত সেনাপতি যিহূদার অবশিষ্ট সবাই যারা বিভিন্ন দেশে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছিল তারা সেখান থেকে যিহূদা দেশে বসবাস করবার জন্য ফিরে এসেছিল।
and Johanan son of Kareah, and all the heads of the forces, take all the remnant of Judah who have turned from all the nations to where they were driven to sojourn in the land of Judah,
6 ৬ তারা সেই সকল পুরুষ, স্ত্রীলোক, ছেলেমেয়ে, রাজকুমারীদের এবং প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তিকে সঙ্গে নিল, যাদের রাজার দেহরক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি নবূষরদন শাফনের নাতি অহীকামের ছেলে গদলিয়ের কাছে রেখে গিয়েছিলেন। তারা ভাববাদী যিরমিয় ও নেরিয়ের ছেলে বারূককেও নিয়ে গেল।
the men, and the women, and the infant, and the daughters of the king, and every person that Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch son of Neriah,
and they enter the land of Egypt, for they have not listened to the voice of YHWH, and they come as far as Tahpanhes.
And there is a word of YHWH to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,
9 ৯ “তোমার হাতে কতকগুলি বড় বড় পাথর নাও এবং তফনহেষে ফরৌণের বাড়ির প্রবেশপথে ইটের গাঁথনি আছে, তার মধ্যে ইহুদীদের চোখের সামনে সেগুলি লুকিয়ে রাখ।
“Take great stones in your hand, and you have hidden them in the clay in the brick-kiln, that [is] at the opening of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, before the eyes of the men of Judah,
10 ১০ তারপর তাদের বল যে, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, ‘দেখ, আমি দূতকে পাঠিয়ে আমার দাস বাবিলের রাজা নবূখদনিৎসরকে নিয়ে আসব। এই যে পাথরগুলি যিরমিয়, তুমি পুঁতে রেখেছ তার উপরে আমি তার সিংহাসন স্থাপন করব; নবূখদনিৎসর তার উপরে তার রাজকীয় চাঁদোয়া খাটাবে।
and you have said to them, Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Behold, I am sending, and I have taken Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and I have set his throne above these stones that I have hid, and he has stretched out his pavilion over them,
11 ১১ সে আসবে এবং মিশর দেশ আক্রমণ করবে। যে মৃত্যুর জন্য ঠিক হয়েছে, তার মৃত্যু হবে; যে বন্দী হবার জন্য ঠিক হয়েছে, তাকে বন্দী করা হবে; যে তরোয়ালের জন্য ঠিক হয়েছে, সে তরোয়ালে পতিত হবে।
and he has come, and struck the land of Egypt—those who [are] for death to death, and those who [are] for captivity to captivity, and those who [are] for the sword to the sword.
12 ১২ তখন আমি মিশরের দেবতার মন্দিরগুলিতে আগুন ধরিয়ে দেব। নবূখদনিৎসর তাদের পুড়িয়ে দেবে বা বন্দী করবে। সে মিশর দেশকে পরিধান করবে, যেমন মেষপালক তার পোশাকের উকুন পরিষ্কার করে। সে বিজয়ী হয়ে সেখান থেকে চলে যাবে।
And I have kindled a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and it has burned them, and he has taken them captive, and covered himself with the land of Egypt, as the shepherd covers himself with his garment, and he has gone forth there in peace;
13 ১৩ সে মিশর দেশের সূর্যপুরীর স্তম্ভগুলি ভেঙে ফেলবে। সে মিশরের দেবতাদের মন্দিরগুলি পুড়িয়ে ফেলবে’।”
and he has broken the standing pillars of the house of the sun, that [is] in the land of Egypt, and he burns the houses of the gods of Egypt with fire.”
