যাকোব 1
1 ১ ঈশ্বরও প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের দাস যাকোব, নানা দেশে ছিন্নভিন্ন বারো বংশকে এই চিঠি লিখছি। মঙ্গল হোক।
JAKUB, a servant of Aloha and of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, unto the twelve tribes who are dispersed among the nations: Peace.
All joy shall be to you, my brethren, when you shall have entered into temptations many and various.
For you know that the proving of faith maketh you to possess patience;
4 ৪ আর সেই সহ্য যেন নিজের কাজকে সম্পূর্ণ করে, যেন তোমরা পরিপক্ক ও সম্পূর্ণ হও, কোন বিষয়ে যেন তোমাদের অভাব না থাকে।
but to patience let there be a perfect work, that you may be complete and perfected, and in nothing be deficient.
5 ৫ যদি তোমাদের কারো জ্ঞানের অভাব হয়, তবে সে যেন ঈশ্বরের কাছে চায়; তিনি সবাই কে উদারতার সঙ্গে দিয়ে থাকেন, তিরস্কার করেন না; ঈশ্বর তাকে দেবেন।
If any of you be deficient in wisdom, let him ask of Aloha, who giveth to all expansively, and upbraideth not, and it is given to him.
6 ৬ কিন্তু সে যেন সন্দেহ না করে কিন্তু বিশ্বাসের সঙ্গে চায়; কারণ যে সন্দেহ করে, সে ঝড়ো হাওয়ায় বয়ে আসা সমুদ্রের ঢেউয়ের মতো চঞ্চল।
But let him ask in faith, not wavering. For he who wavereth is like the waves of the sea which the wind disturbeth.
And let not that man expect to receive any thing from the Lord,
who is divided in his mind, and disturbed in all his ways.
But let the humble brother glory in his exaltation,
and the rich in his humility; for as the flower of an herb, so he passeth.
11 ১১ যেমন, সূর্য্য যখন প্রখর তাপের সঙ্গে ওঠে তখন, গাছ শুকিয়ে যায় ও তার ফুল ঝরে পড়ে এবং তার রূপের লাবণ্য নষ্ট হয়ে যায়; তেমনি ধনী ব্যক্তিও তার সমস্ত কাজের মধ্যে দিয়ে ফুলের মতোই ঝরে পড়বে।
For the sun ariseth in his heat, and drieth the herb, and the flower of it falleth, and the beauty of its appearance perisheth; so also the rich withereth in his reverses.
12 ১২ ধন্য সেই ব্যক্তি, যে পরীক্ষা সহ্য করে; কারণ পরীক্ষায় সফল হলে পর সে জীবনমুকুট পাবে, তা প্রভু তাদেরকেই দিতে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছেন, যারা তাকে প্রেম করেন।
Blessed the man who endureth temptations: for when he hath been proved he shall receive the crown of life, which Aloha hath promised unto them who love him.
13 ১৩ প্রলোভনের দিনের কেউ না বলুক, ঈশ্বর আমাকে প্রলোভিত করছেন; কারণ মন্দ বিষয় দিয়ে ঈশ্বরকে প্রলোভিত করা যায় না, আর তিনি কাউকেই প্রলোভিত করেন না;
Let no man say, when he is tempted, From Aloha I am tempted; for Aloha is not tempted with evils, and he no man tempteth.
But each man from his concupiscence tempteth himself, and desireth, and is drawn away.
And this desire conceiveth and beareth sin; and sin, when it is perfected, beareth death.
Do not err, my beloved brethren;
17 ১৭ সমস্ত উত্তম উপহার এবং সমস্ত সিদ্ধ উপহার স্বর্গ থেকে আসে, সেই আলোর পিতার কাছ থেকে নেমে আসে। ছায়া যেমন একস্থান থেকে আর একস্থানে পরিবর্তন হয় তেমনি তাঁর পরিবর্তন হয় না।
every good gift and perfect from above descendeth, from the Father of lights, with whom is no alteration, nor the shadow of vicissitude.
18 ১৮ ঈশ্বর তাঁর নিজের ইচ্ছা অনুযায়ী সত্যের বাক্য দিয়ে আমাদেরকে জীবন দিয়েছেন, যেন আমরা তাঁর সমস্ত সৃষ্টির মধ্যে প্রথম ফলের মতো হই।
He willed, and begat us by the word of truth, that we might be the first-ones of his creatures.
19 ১৯ হে আমার প্রিয় ভাইয়েরা, তোমরা এটা জানো। কিন্তু তোমাদের প্রত্যেকে অবশ্যই কথা শোনার জন্য প্রস্তুত থাক, কম কথা বলো, খুব তাড়াতাড়ি রেগে যেও না,
And you, my beloved brethren, let every one of you be swift to hear, and slow to speak, and slow to be angry;
for the wrath of man the righteousness of Aloha worketh not.
21 ২১ অতএব, তোমরা সমস্ত অপবিত্রতা ও মন্দতা ত্যাগ করে, নম্র ভাবে সেই বাক্য যা তোমাদের মধ্যে রোপণ করা হয়েছে তা গ্রহণ কর, যা তোমাদের প্রাণের উদ্ধার করতে সক্ষম।
Wherefore, remove from you all impurity and the abounding of wickedness, and with meekness receive the word which is engrafted in our nature, which is able to save your souls.
BUT be doers of the word, and not hearers only, neither deceive yourselves.
23 ২৩ কারণ যে শুধু বাক্য শোনে, কিন্তু সেইমতো কাজ না করে, সে এমন ব্যক্তির তুল্য, যে আয়নায় নিজের স্বাভাবিক মুখ দেখে;
For if a man be a hearer of the word and not a doer of it, this (man) is like one who vieweth his face in a mirror;
for he seeth himself and passeth, and hath forgotten what (manner of person) he was.
25 ২৫ কিন্তু যে কেউ মনোযোগের সঙ্গে স্বাধীনতার নিখুঁত ব্যবস্থায় দৃষ্টিপাত করে ও তাতে মনযোগ দেয় এবং ভুলে যাওয়ার জন্য শ্রোতা না হয়ে সেই বাক্য অনুযায়ী কাজ করে, সে নিজের কাজে ধন্য হবে।
But every one who looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he is not a hearer of the hearing of forgetfulness, but a doer of works; and this shall be blessed in his work.
26 ২৬ যে ব্যক্তি নিজেকে ধার্মিক বলে মনে করে, আর নিজের জিভকে বল্গা দিয়ে বশে না রাখে, কিন্তু নিজের হৃদয়কে ঠকায়, তার ধার্মিকতার কোনো মূল্য নেই।
And if a man thinketh that he serveth Aloha, and holdeth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, of this man his service is vain.
27 ২৭ দুঃখের দিনের অনাথদের ও বিধবাদের দেখাশোনা করা এবং জগত থেকে নিজেকে ত্রূটিহীন ভাবে রক্ষা করাই পিতা ঈশ্বরের কাছে পবিত্র ও শুদ্ধ ধর্ম।
For the service which is pure and true before Aloha the Father, is this, to visit the orphans and widows in their afflictions, and that a man keep himself from the world without blemish.
