যিশাইয় ভাববাদীর বই 64

1 ১ আহা, তুমি যদি আকাশ চিরে নিচে নেমে আসতে! তবে পাহাড় পর্বত তোমার উপস্থিতিতে কেঁপে উঠত,

If thou wouldest open the heaven, trembling will take hold upon the mountains from thee, and they shall melt,

2 ২ আগুন যেমন ঝোপের ডালপালা জ্বালায়, অথবা আগুন জলকে ফোঁটায়৷ তোমার শত্রুদের কাছে তোমার নাম প্রকাশ হোক, যেন জাতিগুলো তোমার উপস্থিতিতে ভয়ে কাঁপে!

as wax melts before the fire; and fire shall burn up the enemies, and thy name shall be manifest among the adversaries: at thy presence the nations shall be troubled,

3 ৩ আগে, আমরা যা আশা করিনি তুমি সেই সমস্ত আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করেছিলে, তুমি নেমে এসেছিলে আর পাহাড় পর্বত তোমার উপস্থিতিতে কেঁপে উঠেছিল।

whenever thou shalt work gloriously; trembling from thee shall take hold upon the mountains.

4 ৪ সেই প্রাচীনকাল থেকে তোমাকে ছাড়া আর কোন ঈশ্বরের কথা কেউ শোনে নি, চোখেও দেখে নি, যিনি তাঁর জন্য কাজ করে থাকেন যে তাঁর অপেক্ষা করে।

From of old we have not heard, neither have our eyes seen a God beside thee, and thy works which thou wilt perform to them that wait for mercy.

5 ৫ যারা ভালো কাজ করতে আনন্দ পায়, যারা তোমার পথে স্মরণ করে এবং সেগুলো পালন করে, তুমি তাদের সাহায্য কর৷ যখন আমরা পাপ করেছিলাম তখন তুমি রেগে গিয়েছিলে। তোমার পথে আমরা সব দিন উদ্ধার পাব৷

For [these blessings] shall happen to them that work righteousness, and they shall remember thy ways: behold, thou wast angry and we have sinned; therefore we have erred,

6 ৬ আমরা প্রত্যেকে অশুচি ব্যক্তির মত হয়েছি আর আমাদের সমস্ত ভালো কাজ নোংরা কাপড়ের মত। আমরা সবাই পাতার মত শুকিয়ে গিয়েছি; আমাদের পাপ বাতাসের মত করে আমাদের উড়িয়ে নিয়ে গেছে।

and we are all become as unclean, and all our righteousness as a filthy rag: and we have fallen as leaves because of our iniquities; thus the wind shall carry us [away].

7 ৭ কেউ আর তোমার নামে ডাকে না, তোমাকে ধরতে কেউ চেষ্টা করে না; কারণ তুমি আমাদের থেকে তোমার মুখ লুকিয়ে রেখেছ এবং আমাদের পাপের কাছে সমর্পণ করেছ।

And there is none that calls upon thy name, or that remembers to take hold on thee: for thou hast turned thy face away from us, and hast delivered us up because of our sins.

8 ৮ তবুও, হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমিই আমাদের পিতা; আমরা মাটি। তুমি কুমার এবং আমরা সবাই তোমার হাতের কাজ।

And now, O Lord, thou art our Father, and we are clay, all [of us] the work of thine hands.

9 ৯ হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি এত রাগ কোরো না; আমাদের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের পাপ সব দিন স্মরণ কর না। অনুগ্রহ করে, তুমি আমাদের সবার দিকে, তোমার লোকদের দিকে তাকাও।

Be not very wroth with us, and remember not our sins for ever; but now look on [us], for we are all thy people.

10 ১০ তোমার পবিত্র শহরগুলো মরুপ্রান্তে পরিণত হয়েছে; সিয়োনও মরুপ্রান্তে পরিণত হয়েছে, যিরূশালেম জনশূন্য হয়েছে।

The city of thy holiness has become desolate, Sion has become as a wilderness, Jerusalem a curse.

11 ১১ আমাদের সেই পবিত্র ও সুন্দর মন্দির, যেখানে আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা তোমার প্রশংসা করতেন, আগুনে ধ্বংস হয়েছে এবং যা কিছু খুবই সুন্দর ছিল সেগুলোও ধ্বংস হয়েছে।

The house, our sanctuary, and the glory which our fathers blessed, has been burnt with fire: and all our glorious things have gone to ruin.

12 ১২ হে সদাপ্রভু, তুমি কি করে এখনও ক্ষান্ত হয়ে আছ? তুমি কি চুপ করে থাকবে ও অবিরত আমাদের লজ্জিত করবে?

And for all these things thou, O Lord, has withholden, thyself, and been silent, and hast brought us very low.
