আদিপুস্তক 35

1 ১ পরে ঈশ্বর যাকোবকে বললেন, “তুমি উঠ, বৈথেলে গিয়ে সে জায়গায় বাস কর এবং তোমার ভাই এষৌর সামনে থেকে তোমার পালানোর দিনের যে ঈশ্বর তোমাকে দেখা দিয়েছিলেন, তার উদ্দেশ্যে সেই জায়গায় যজ্ঞবেদি তৈরী কর।”

and to say God to(wards) Jacob to arise: rise to ascend: rise Bethel Bethel and to dwell there and to make there altar to/for God [the] to see: see to(wards) you in/on/with to flee you from face: before Esau brother: male-sibling your

2 ২ তখন যাকোব নিজের আত্মীয় ও সঙ্গী লোক সবাইকে বললেন, “তোমাদের কাছে যে সব ইতর দেবতা আছে, তাদেরকে দূর কর এবং শুদ্ধ হও ও অন্য বস্ত্র পর।

and to say Jacob to(wards) house: household his and to(wards) all which with him to turn aside: remove [obj] God [the] foreign which in/on/with midst your and be pure and to pass mantle your

3 ৩ আর এস, আমরা উঠে বৈথেলে যাই; যে ঈশ্বর আমার সঙ্কটের দিনের আমাকে প্রার্থনার উত্তর দিয়েছিলেন এবং আমার যাত্রাপথে সঙ্গে ছিলেন, তাঁর উদ্দেশ্যে আমি সেই জায়গায় এক যজ্ঞবেদি নির্মাণ করব।”

and to arise: rise and to ascend: rise Bethel Bethel and to make there altar to/for God [the] to answer [obj] me in/on/with day distress my and to be with me me in/on/with way: journey which to go: went

4 ৪ তাতে তারা নিজেদের দেবমূর্তি ও কানের দুল সব যাকোবকে দিল এবং তিনি ঐ সব শিখিমের কাছাকাছি এলা গাছের তলায় পুঁতে রাখলেন।

5 ৫ পরে তাঁরা সেখান থেকে যাত্রা করলেন। তখন চারদিকের নগরসমূহে ঈশ্বর থেকে ভয় উপস্থিত হল, তাই সেখানকার লোকেরা যাকোবের ছেলেদের পিছনে গেল না।

6 ৬ পরে যাকোব ও তাঁর সঙ্গীরা সবাই কনান দেশের লূসে অর্থাৎ বৈথেলে উপস্থিত হলেন।

7 ৭ সেখানে তিনি এক যজ্ঞবেদি নির্মাণ করে সেই জায়গার নাম এল-বৈথেল [বৈথেলের ঈশ্বর] রাখলেন; কারণ ভাইয়ের সামনে থেকে তার পালাবার দিন ঈশ্বর সেই জায়গায় তাকে দর্শন দিয়েছিলেন

8 ৮ আর রিবিকার দবোরা নামের ধাত্রীর মৃত্যু হল এবং বৈথেলের নীচে অবস্থিত অলোন গাছের তলায় তার কবর হল এবং সেই জায়গার নাম অলোন-বাখুৎ [ক্রন্দন গাছ] হল।

9 ৯ পদ্দন-অরাম থেকে যাকোব ফিরে আসলে ঈশ্বর তাঁকে আবার দর্শন দিয়ে আশীর্বাদ করলেন।

10 ১০ ফলে ঈশ্বর তাঁকে বললেন, “তোমার নাম যাকোব; লোকে তোমাকে আর যাকোব বলবে না, তোমার নাম ইস্রায়েল হবে;” আর তিনি তাঁর নাম ইস্রায়েল রাখলেন।

11 ১১ ঈশ্বর তাঁকে আরো বললেন, “আমিই সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বর, তুমি প্রজাবান ও বহুবংশ হও; তোমার থেকে এক জাতি, এমন কি, জাতিসমাজ সৃষ্টি হবে, আর তোমার থেকে রাজারা সৃষ্টি হবে।

and to say to/for him God I God Almighty be fruitful and to multiply nation and assembly nation to be from you and king from loin your to come out: produce

12 ১২ আর আমি অব্রাহামকে ও ইসহাককে যে দেশ দান করেছি, সেই দেশ তোমাকে ও তোমার ভাবী বংশকে দেব।”

13 ১৩ সেই জায়গায় তাঁর সঙ্গে কথাবার্তা বলে ঈশ্বর তাঁর কাছ থেকে চলে গেলেন।

14 ১৪ আর যাকোব সেই কথাবার্তার জায়গায় এক স্তম্ভ, পাথরের স্তম্ভ, স্থাপন করে তার উপরে পানীয় নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ করলেন ও তেল ঢেলে দিলেন।

15 ১৫ এবং যে জায়গায় ঈশ্বর তাঁর সঙ্গে কথা বললেন, যাকোব সেই জায়গার নাম বৈথেল রাখলেন।

16 ১৬ পরে তাঁরা বৈথেল থেকে চলে গেলেন, আর ইফ্রাথে উপস্থিত হবার অল্প পথ বাকি থাকতে রাহেলের প্রসব বেদনা হল এবং তাঁর প্রসব করতে বড় কষ্ট হল।

17 ১৭ আর প্রসব ব্যথা কঠিন হলে ধাত্রী তাকে বলল, “ভয় কর না, কারণ এবারও তোমার ছেলে হবে।”

18 ১৮ পরে তার মৃত্যু হল, আর প্রাণ চলে যাবার দিনের তিনি ছেলের নাম বিনোনী [আমার কষ্টের ছেলে] রাখলেন, কিন্তু তার বাবা তার নাম বিন্যামীন [ডান হাতের ছেলে] রাখলেন

19 ১৯ এই ভাবে রাহেলের মৃত্যু হল এবং ইফ্রাথ অর্থাৎ বৈৎলেহমের পথের পাশে তার কবর হল।

20 ২০ পরে যাকোব তার কবরের ওপরে এক স্তম্ভ স্থাপন করলেন, রাহেলের সেই কবর স্তম্ভ আজও আছে।

21 ২১ পরে ইস্রায়েল সেখান থেকে যাত্রা করলেন এবং মিগদল-এদরের ওপাশে তাঁবু স্থাপন করলেন।

22 ২২ সেই দেশে ইস্রায়েলের বসবাসের দিনের রুবেন গিয়ে নিজের বাবার বিলহা নামে উপপত্নীর সঙ্গে শয়ন করল এবং ইস্রায়েল তা শুনতে পেলেন।

23 ২৩ লেয়ার ছেলে; যাকোবের বড় ছেলে রুবেন এবং শিমিয়োন, লেবি, যিহূদা, ইষাখর ও সবূলূন।

24 ২৪ রাহেলের ছেলে; যোষেফ ও বিন্যামীন।

25 ২৫ রাহেলের দাসী বিলহার ছেলে; দান ও নপ্তালি।

and son: child Bilhah maidservant Rachel Dan and Naphtali

26 ২৬ লেয়ার দাসী সিল্পার ছেলে; গাদ ও আশের। এরা যাকোবের ছেলে, পদ্দন-অরামে জন্মায়।

27 ২৭ পরে কিরিয়থর্ব্বের অর্থাৎ হিব্রোণের কাছাকাছি মম্রি নামক যে জায়গায় অব্রাহাম ও ইসহাক বাস করেছিলেন, সেই জায়গায় যাকোব নিজের বাবা ইসহাকের কাছে উপস্থিত হলেন।

28 ২৮ ইসহাকের বয়স একশো আশী বছর হয়েছিল।

29 ২৯ পরে ইসহাক বৃদ্ধ ও পূর্ণায়ু হয়ে প্রাণত্যাগ করে নিজের পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে একত্রিত হলেন এবং তাঁর ছেলে এষৌ ও যাকোব তাঁর কবর দিলেন।
