গালাতীয় 3
1 ১ হে নির্বোধ গালাতীয়েরা, কে তোমাদেরকে মুগ্ধ করল? তোমাদেরই চোখের সামনে যীশু খ্রীষ্ট ক্রুশারোপিত বলে বর্ণিত হয়নি?
O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you? before whose eyes Jesus Christ was plainly set forth among you crucified.
2 ২ আমি শুধু এই কথা তোমাদের কাছে জানতে চাই, তোমরা কি ব্যবস্থার কাজের জন্য পবিত্র আত্মাকে পেয়েছ? না বিশ্বাসের সুসমাচার শ্রবণের জন্য?
This only I desire to learn from you: Was it from the works of the Law that ye received the Spirit, or by the preaching of faith?
Are ye so foolish? Having begun with the Spirit, do ye now end with the flesh?
Have ye suffered so much in vain? if indeed it be really in vain.
5 ৫ অতএব, যিনি তোমাকে পবিত্র আত্মা জুগিয়ে দেন ও তোমাদের মধ্যে আশ্চর্য্য কাজ সম্পন্ন করেন, তিনি কি ব্যবস্থার কাজের জন্য তা করেন? না বিশ্বাসের সুসমাচার শ্রবণের জন্য?
Doth he then who is supplying to you the Spirit, and working miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by the preaching of faith?
Even as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness.”
Know then that they who have faith, these are the sons of Abraham.
8 ৮ আর বিশ্বাসের জন্য ঈশ্বর অইহূদিদেরকে ধার্মিক বলে চিহ্নিত করেন, শাস্ত্র এটা আগে দেখে অব্রাহামের কাছে আগেই সুসমাচার প্রচার করেছিল, যথা, “তোমার থেকে সমস্ত জাতি আশীর্বাদ পাবে।”
Moreover the Scripture, foreseeing that God was to accept the gentiles as righteous by faith, proclaimed beforehand the glad tidings to Abraham, saying, “In thee shall all nations be blessed.”
So then they who have faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
10 ১০ বাস্তবিক যারা নিয়মের ক্রিয়া অনুযায়ী চলে, তারা সবাই অভিশাপের অধীন, কারণ লেখা আছে, “যে কেউ নিয়মগ্রন্থে লেখা সব কথা পালন করবার জন্য তাতে স্থির না থাকে, সে শাপগ্রস্ত।”
For as many as rely on the works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the Law, to do them.”
11 ১১ কিন্তু মশির নিয়ম পালনের মাধ্যমে কেউই ঈশ্বরের সামনে ধার্মিক বলে চিহ্নিত হয় না, এটা সুস্পষ্ট, পবিত্র শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে “কারণ ধার্মিক ব্যক্তি বিশ্বাসের জন্য বেঁচে থাকবে।”
But further, that through the observance of the Law no one is accepted as righteous with God is evident; for “the righteous shall live by faith.”
And the Law hath nothing to do with faith; but [[its language is]], “He that hath done them shall live in them.”
13 ১৩ খ্রীষ্টই মূল্য দিয়ে আমাদেরকে নিয়মের অভিশাপ থেকে মুক্ত করেছেন, কারণ তিনি আমাদের জন্যে শাপস্বরূপ হলেন; যেমন পবিত্র শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে, “যাকে ক্রুশে টাঙ্গান যায়, সে শাপগ্রস্ত।”
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, “Cursed is every one that is hanged on a beam of wood,”—
14 ১৪ যেন অব্রাহামের পাওয়া আশীর্বাদ খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে অইহূদিদের প্রতি আসে, আমরা যেন বিশ্বাসের মাধ্যমে প্রতিজ্ঞার আত্মাকে পাই।
to the end that in Christ Jesus the blessing promised to Abraham might come to the gentiles, that we through faith might receive the Spirit which was promised.
15 ১৫ হে ভাইয়েরা, আমি মানুষের মত বলছি। মানুষের নিয়মপত্র হলেও তা যখন প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়, তখন কেউ তা বিফল করে না, কিংবা তাতে নতুন কথা যোগ করে না।
Brethren, I speak according to what is practised among men; no one sets aside even a human covenant, or makes additions to it, after it has been ratified.
16 ১৬ ভাল, অব্রাহামের প্রতি ও তাঁর বংশের প্রতি প্রতিজ্ঞা সকল বলা হয়েছিল। তিনি বহুবচনে আর বংশ সবের প্রতি না বলে, একবচনে বলেন, “আর তোমার বংশের প্রতি,” সেই বংশ খ্রীষ্ট।
But the promises were made to Abraham and “to his offspring.” He doth not say, “and to offsprings,” as speaking of many, but, as speaking of one, “and to thy offspring,” which is Christ.
17 ১৭ এখন আমি এই বলি, যে চুক্তি ঈশ্বরের থেকে আগেই প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল, চারশো ত্রিশ বছর পরে আসা নিয়ম সেই প্রতিজ্ঞাকে উঠিয়ে দিতে পারে না, যা প্রতিজ্ঞাকে বিফল করবে।
And what I mean is this; that a covenant that was before ratified by God, the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years after, cannot annul, so as to make void the promise;
18 ১৮ কারণ উত্তরাধিকার যদি নিয়মমূলক হয়, তবে আর প্রতিজ্ঞামূলক হতে পারে না; কিন্তু অব্রাহামকে ঈশ্বর প্রতিজ্ঞার মাধ্যমেই অনুগ্রহ করেছেন।
for if the inheritance cometh from the Law, it ceaseth to be the consequence of the promise; but to Abraham God gave it by promise.
19 ১৯ তবে নিয়ম কি? অপরাধের কারণ তা যোগ করা হয়েছিল, যে পর্যন্ত না সেই বংশ আসে, যাঁর কাছে প্রতিজ্ঞা করা হয়েছিল এবং সেই আদেশ দূতদের মাধ্যমে একজন মধ্যস্থের হাতে বিধিবদ্ধ হল।
To what end then was the Law? It was added because of transgressions, till the offspring should come to whom the promise belongeth, having been ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator.
Now no mediator is a mediator of one; but God is one.
21 ২১ তবে নিয়ম কি ঈশ্বরের প্রতিজ্ঞা কলাপের বিরুদ্ধে? একেবারেই না! ফলে যদি এমন নিয়ম দেওয়া হত, যা জীবন দান করতে পারে, তবে ধার্ম্মিকতা অবশ্য নিয়মমূলক হত।
Is then the Law against the promises of God? Far be it! For if a law had been given which was able to give life, righteousness would indeed have been by the Law;
22 ২২ কিন্তু পরিবর্তে, শাস্ত্রে সবই পাপের অধীনে আটক করেছে, যেন নতুন নিয়ম ফল, যীশু খ্রীষ্টে বিশ্বাসের জন্য, বিশ্বাসীদেরকে রক্ষা করা যায়।
but the Scripture shut up all under sin, that the blessing promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23 ২৩ কিন্তু খ্রীষ্টে বিশ্বাস আসবার আগে আমরা নিয়মের অধীনে বন্দী ছিলাম, যতক্ষণ না পর্যন্ত বিশ্বাস প্রকাশিত হয়।
But before faith came, we were kept in ward under the Law, shut up unto the faith which was to be revealed.
24 ২৪ সুতরাং তখন নিয়ম খ্রীষ্টের কাছে আনবার জন্য আমাদের পরিচালক হয়ে উঠল, যেন আমরা বিশ্বাসের জন্য ধার্মিক বলে চিহ্নিত হই।
So then the Law hath been our schoolmaster, to lead us to Christ, that we might be accepted as righteous through faith;
but faith having come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
For ye are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus;
for as many of you as were baptized into Christ, did put on Christ.
28 ২৮ ইহূদি কি গ্রীক আর হতে পারে না, দাস কি স্বাধীন আর হতে পারে না, পুরুষ কি মহিলা আর হতে পারে না, কারণ খ্রীষ্ট যীশুতে তোমরা সবাই এক।
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is no male and female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus;
and if ye belong to Christ, then are ye Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise.
