1 ১ বাবিলে আমাদের বন্দিত্বের সময়ে এটা এসেছিল সপ্তম বছরের পঞ্চম মাসে, মাসের দশম দিনের ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনদের মধ্যে কয়েকজন পুরুষ সদাপ্রভুর কাছে খোঁজ করার জন্য এসে আমার সামনে বসল।
And it was doon in the seuenthe yeer, in the fyuethe monethe, in the tenthe dai of the monethe, men of the eldris of Israel camen to axe the Lord; and thei saten bifor me.
And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
3 ৩ “হে মানুষের সন্তান, তুমি ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনদের সঙ্গে ঘোষণা করে তাদেরকে বল, ‘প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: তোমার কি আমার কাছে খোঁজ করতে এসেছ? যেমন আমি জীবন্ত, আমি তোমাদের দ্বারা অন্বেষিত হব না’!” এটা প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
and he seide, Sone of man, speke thou to the eldere men of Israel; and thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, Whether ye camen to axe me? Y lyue, for Y schal not answere to you, seith the Lord God. Sone of man,
4 ৪ হে মানুষের সন্তান, তুমি কি তাদের বিচার করবে? তুমি কি বিচার করবে? তবে তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের জঘন্য কাজ সব তাদেরকে জানাও;
if thou demest hem, if thou demest, schewe thou to hem the abhomynaciouns of her fadris.
5 ৫ তাদেরকে বল, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “আমি যে দিন ইস্রায়েলকে মনোনীত করেছিলাম, যাকোবের কুলজাত বংশের জন্য হাত তুলেছিলাম, মিশর দেশে তাদের কাছে নিজের পরিচয় দিয়েছিলাম, যখন তাদের জন্য আমার হাত তুলেছিলাম। আমি বললাম, ‘আমিই তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু’
And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, In the dai in which Y chees Israel, and reiside myn hond for the generacioun of the hous of Jacob, and Y apperide to hem in the lond of Egipt, and Y reiside myn hond for hem, and Y seide, Y am youre Lord God,
6 ৬ সেই দিন তাদের জন্যে হাত তুলে বলেছিলাম যে, আমি তাদেরকে মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করব এবং তাদের জন্য যে দেশ আমি যত্নসহকারে বেছে রেখেছি, এটা ছিল দুধ ও মধু প্রবাহী; এটা ছিল সব দেশের মধ্যে খুব সুন্দর অলংকার!
in that dai Y reiside myn hond for hem, that Y schulde leede hem out of the lond of Egipt, in to the lond which Y hadde purueiede to hem, the lond flowynge with mylk and hony, which is noble among alle londis.
7 ৭ আর আমি তাদেরকে বলেছিলাম, ‘তোমার প্রত্যেক জন তার চোখের সামনে থেকে ঘৃণ্য বস্তু প্রত্যাখ্যান কর এবং ইস্রায়েলের মূর্তিগুলির দ্বারা নিজেদেরকে অশুচি কর না; আমি তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু’।”
And Y seide to hem, Ech man caste awei the offenciouns of hise iyen, and nyle ye be defoulid in the idols of Egipt; Y am youre Lord God.
8 ৮ কিন্তু তারা আমার বিরুদ্ধাচারী হল, আমার কথা শুনতে নারাজ হল, প্রত্যেক মানুষ তার চোখের সামনে থেকে ঘৃণ্য বিষয়গুলি দূর করে নি ইস্রায়েলের মূর্তিগুলি পরিত্যাগ করে নি, তাতে আমি তাদের ওপরে আমার কোপ ঢালব, মিশর দেশের মধ্যে তাদেরকে আমার ক্রোধ সম্পন্ন করব।
And thei terriden me to wraththe, and nolden here me; ech man castide not awei the abhomynaciouns of hise iyen, nether thei forsoken the idols of Egipt.
9 ৯ আমি নিজের নামের অনুরোধে কাজ করলাম; যেন আমার নাম সেই জাতিদের সামনে অপবিত্রীকৃত না হয়, যাদের মধ্যে তারা বাস করছিল ও যাদের সামনে আমি তাদেরকে মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে আনতে নিজের পরিচয় দিয়েছিলাম।
And Y seide, that Y wold schede out myn indignacioun on hem, and fille my wraththe in hem, in the myddis of the lond of Egipt. And Y dide for my name, that it schulde not be defoulid bifore hethene men, in the myddis of whiche thei weren, and among whiche Y apperide to hem, that Y schulde lede hem out of the lond of Egipt.
Therfor Y castide hem out of the lond of Egipt, and Y ledde hem out in to desert;
11 ১১ তারপর আমি তাদেরকে আমার বিধিকলাপ দিলাম ও আমার শাসনকলাপ জানালাম, যা পালন করলে তার দ্বারা মানুষ বাঁচে।
and Y yaf to hem my comaundementis, and Y schewide to hem my doomes, which a man schal do, and lyue in tho.
12 ১২ আর আমিই যে তাদের পবিত্রকারী সদাপ্রভু, এটা জানাবার জন্য আমার ও তাদের মধ্যে চিহ্নের মতো আমার বিশ্রামদিন সবও তাদেরকে দিলাম।
Ferthermore and Y yaf to hem my sabatis, that it schulde be a sygne bitwixe me and hem, and that thei schulden wite, that Y am the Lord halewynge hem.
13 ১৩ কিন্তু ইস্রায়েল-কুল সেই মরুপ্রান্তে আমার বিরুদ্ধচারী হল; আমার বিধিপথে চলল না পরিবর্তে, তারা আমার শাসনকলাপ অগ্রাহ্য করল, যা পালন করলে তার দ্বারা মানুষ বাঁচে; আর আমার বিশ্রামদিন সব খুব অপবিত্র করল; তাতে আমি বললাম, আমি তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করার জন্য মরুপ্রান্তে তাদের ওপরে আমার কোপ ঢালব।
And the hous of Israel terriden me to wraththe in desert; thei yeden not in my comaundementis, and thei castiden awei my domes, whiche a man that doith, schal lyue in tho; and thei defouliden greetli my sabatis. Therfor Y seide, that Y wolde schede out my strong veniaunce on hem in desert, and waste hem;
14 ১৪ কিন্তু নিজের নামের অনুরোধে কাজ করলাম, যেন সেই জাতিদের সামনে আমার নাম অপবিত্রীকৃত না হয়, যাদের সামনে তাদেরকে বের করে এনেছিলাম।
and Y dide for my name, lest it were defoulid bifor hethene men, fro whiche Y castide hem out in the siyt of tho.
15 ১৫ তাই আমি মরুপ্রান্তে তাদের বিপক্ষে হাত তুললাম, বললাম, আমি সব দেশের সুন্দর অলংকার যে দুধ মধুপ্রবাহী দেশ তাদেরকে দিয়েছি, সেই দেশে তাদেরকে নিয়ে যাব না;
Therfor Y reiside myn hond on hem in the desert, that Y brouyte not hem in to the lond which Y yaf to hem, the lond flowynge with mylk and hony, the beste of alle londis.
16 ১৬ কারণ তারা আমার শাসনকলাপ অগ্রাহ্য করত, আমার বিধিপথে চলত না ও আমার বিশ্রামদিন অপবিত্র করত, কারণ তাদের হৃদয় তাদের মূর্তিদের অনুগামী ছিল।
For thei castiden awei my domes, and yeden not in my comaundementis, and thei defouliden my sabatis; for the herte of hem yede after idols.
17 ১৭ কিন্তু তাদের ধ্বংসের জন্য আমার সমবেদনা হল, এই জন্য আমি সেই মরুপ্রান্তে তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করলাম না।
And myn iye sparide on hem, that Y killide not hem, nether Y wastide hem in the desert.
18 ১৮ আর সেই মরুপ্রান্তে আমি তাদের সন্তানদের বললাম, তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষের বিধিপথে চল না, তাদের শাসনকলাপ মেনো না ও তাদের মূর্তিগুলি দ্বারা নিজেদেরকে অশুচি কর না;
Forsothe Y seide to the sones of hem in wildirnesse, Nyle ye go in the comaundementis of youre fadris, nether kepe ye the domes of hem, nethir be ye defoulid in the idols of hem.
Y am youre Lord God, go ye in my comaundementis, and kepe ye my domes, and do ye tho.
20 ২০ আমার বিশ্রামদিন পবিত্র কর, সেটাই আমার ও তোমাদের মধ্যে চিহ্নের মতো হবে, যেন তোমার জানতে পার যে, আমিই তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু।
And halowe ye my sabatis, that it be a signe bitwixe me and you, and that it be knowun, that Y am youre Lord God.
21 ২১ কিন্তু সেই সন্তানরা আমার বিরুদ্ধাচারী হল; তারা আমার বিধিপথে চলল না এবং আমার শাসনকলাপ পালনের জন্য রক্ষা করল না, যা পালন করলে তার দ্বারা মানুষ বাঁচে; তারা আমার বিশ্রাম দিন ও অপবিত্র করল; আমি তাদের ওপরে নিজের কোপ ঢালব, মরুপ্রান্তে তাতে নিজের ক্রোধ সম্পন্ন করব।
And the sones terriden me to wraththe, and yeden not in my comaundementis, and kepten not my domes, that thei diden tho, whiche whanne a man hath do, he schal lyue in tho, and thei defouliden my sabatis. And Y manaasside to hem, that Y wolde schede out my stronge veniaunce on hem, and fille my wraththe in hem in the desert.
22 ২২ কিন্তু আমি হাত প্রতিসংহত করলাম, নিজের নামের অনুরোধে কাজ করলাম, যেন সেই জাতিদের সামনে আমার নাম অপবিত্রীকৃত না হয়, যাদের সামনে তাদেরকে বের করে এনেছিলাম।
But Y turnede awei myn hond, and Y dide this for my name, that it were not defoulid bifore hethene men, fro whiche Y castide hem out bifore the iyen of tho.
23 ২৩ আমি মরুপ্রান্তে তাদের বিপক্ষে হাত তুললাম, বললাম, তাদেরকে জাতিদের মধ্যে ছিন্নভিন্ন করব, নানা দেশে ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে দেব;
Eft Y reiside myn hond ayens hem in wildirnesse, that Y schulde scatere hem in to naciouns, and wyndewe hem in to londis;
24 ২৪ কারণ তারা আমার শাসনকলাপ পালন করল না, আমার বিধিকলাপ অগ্রাহ্য করল, আমার বিশ্রামদিন অপবিত্র করল ও তাদের বাবাদের মূর্তিতে তাদের চোখ আসক্ত থাকল।
for that that thei hadden not do my domes, and hadden repreuyd my comaundementis, and hadden defoulid my sabatis, and her iyen hadden be after the idols of her fadris.
25 ২৫ তারপর যা ভালো নয়, এমন বিধিকলাপ এবং যার দ্বারা কেউ বাঁচতে পারে না, এমন শাসনকলাপ তাদেরকে দিলাম।
Therfor and Y yaf to hem comaundementis not good, and domes in whiche thei schulen not lyue.
26 ২৬ তারা গর্ভ উন্মোচক সমস্ত সন্তানকে আগুনের মধ্যে দিয়ে নিয়ে যেত, তাই আমি তাদেরকে নিজেদের উপহারে অশুচি হতে দিলাম, যেন আমি তাদেরকে ধ্বংস করি, যেন তারা জানতে পারে যে, আমিই সদাপ্রভু।
And Y defoulide hem in her yiftis, whanne thei offriden to me for her trespassis al thing that openeth the wombe; and thei schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.
27 ২৭ অতএব, হে মানুষের-সন্তান, তুমি ইস্রায়েল কুলের সঙ্গে আলাপ করে তাদেরকে বল, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা আমার বিরুদ্ধে সত্যলঙ্ঘন করেছে, এতেই আমার নিন্দা করেছে। কারণ আমি তাদেরকে যে দেশ দেব বলে তুলেছিলাম,
Wherfor speke thou, sone of man, to the hous of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord God seith these thingis, Yit and in this youre fadris blasfemyden me, whanne thei dispisynge hadden forsake me,
28 ২৮ যখন সেই দেশে আনলাম, তখন তারা যে কোনো জায়গায় কোনো উঁচু পর্বত কিংবা কোনো পাতাযুক্ত গাছ দেখতে পেত, সেই জায়গায় বলিদান করত, সেই জায়গায় আমার অসন্তোষজনক নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ করত, সেই জায়গায় নিজেদের সুগন্ধের জিনিসও রাখত এবং সেই জায়গায় নিজেদের পানীয় নৈবেদ্য ঢালত।
and Y hadde brouyte hem in to the lond on which Y reiside myn hond, that Y schulde yiue to hem, thei siyen ech hiy litil hil, and ech tree ful of boowis, and thei offriden there her sacrifices, and thei yauen there her offryngis, in to terring to wraththe; and thei settiden there the odour of her swetnesse, and thei offriden her moiste sacrifices.
29 ২৯ তাতে আমি তাদেরকে বললাম, তোমার যে উচ্চস্থলীতে উঠে যাও ওটা কি? এই ভাবে আজ পর্যন্ত তার নাম বামা উচ্চস্থলী হয়ে রয়েছে।
And Y seide to hem, What is the hiy thing, to whiche ye entren? And the name therof is clepid Hiy Thing til to this dai.
30 ৩০ অতএব তুমি ইস্রায়েল-কুলকে বল, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, তোমার কেন নিজেদের পূর্বপুরুষদের রীতিতে নিজেদেরকে অশুচি করছ? তাদের ঘৃণ্য জিনিস সবের অনুগমনে ব্যভিচার করছ?
Therfor seie thou to the hous of Israel, The Lord God seith these thingis, Certis ye ben defoulid in the weie of youre fadris, and ye don fornycacioun aftir the offendingis of hem,
31 ৩১ তোমার যখন নিজেদের উপহার দাও, যখন নিজেদের সন্তানদের আগুনের মধ্যে দিয়ে নিয়ে যাও, তখন আজ পর্যন্ত নিজেদের সব মূর্তির দ্বারা কি নিজেদেরকে অশুচি করছ? তবে, হে ইস্রায়েল-কুল, আমি কি তোমাদেরকে আমার কাছে খোঁজ করতে দেব? প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন, যেমন আমি জীবন্ত, আমি তোমাদের দ্বারা অন্বেষিত হব না।
and in the offryng of youre yiftis, whanne ye leden ouer youre sones bi fier, ye ben defoulid in alle youre idols til to dai, and schal Y answere to you, the hous of Israel? Y lyue, seith the Lord God, for Y schal not answere to you;
32 ৩২ আর তোমার যা মনে করে থাক, তা কোন ভাবে হবে না; তোমার তো বলছ, আমরা জাতিদের মতো হব, ভিন্ন ভিন্ন দেশের গোষ্ঠীদের মতো হব, কাঠ ও পাথরের পরিচর্য্যা করব!
nether the thouyte of youre soul schal be don, that seien, We schulen be as hethene men, and as naciouns of erthe, that we worschipe trees and stoonys.
33 ৩৩ প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, যেমন আমি জীবন্ত, আমি বলবান হাত, বিস্তারিত বাহু ও কোপের দ্বারা তোমাদের উপরে রাজত্ব করব।
Y lyue, seith the Lord God, for in strong hond, and in arm stretchid forth, and in strong veniaunce sched out, I schal regne on you.
34 ৩৪ আমি বলবান হাত, বিস্তারিত বাহু ও কোপের দ্বারা জাতিদের মধ্যে থেকে তোমাদেরকে বের করব এবং যে সব দেশে তোমার ছিন্নভিন্ন হয়ে রয়েছ, সেই সব দেশ থেকে তোমাদেরকে জড়ো করব।
And Y schal lede out you fro puplis, and Y schal gadere you fro londis, in whiche ye ben scaterid; in strong hond, and in arm stretchid forth, and in strong veniaunce sched out Y schal regne on you.
And Y schal bringe you in to desert of puplis, and Y schal be demed there with you face to face.
36 ৩৬ আমি মিশর দেশের মরুপ্রান্তে যেমন তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে বিচার করেছিলাম, তোমাদের সঙ্গে তেমনি বিচার করব, এটা প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
As Y stryuede in doom ayens youre fadris in the desert of the lond of Egipt, so Y schal deme you, seith the Lord;
and Y schal make you suget to my septre, and Y schal bringe in you in the boondis of pees.
38 ৩৮ পরে বিদ্রোহী ও আমার বিরুদ্ধে অধর্মাচারী সবাইকে ঝেড়ে তোমাদের মধ্যে থেকে দূর করব; তারা যে দেশে প্রবাস করে, সেখান থেকে তাদেরকে বের করে আনব বটে, কিন্তু তারা ইস্রায়েল-দেশে প্রবেশ করবে না; তাতে তোমার জানবে যে, আমিই সদাপ্রভু।
And Y schal chese of you trespassouris, and wickid men; and Y schal leede hem out of the lond of her dwelling, and thei schulen not entre in to the lond of Israel; and ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord.
39 ৩৯ তাই তোমার জন্য, হে ইস্রায়েল-কুল, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের বিষয়ে এই কথা বলেন, তোমার যাও, প্রত্যেকে নিজেদের মুর্তিদের সেবা কর; কিন্তু উত্তরকালে তোমার আমার কথায় অবধান করবেই করবে; তখন নিজেদের উপহার ও মূর্তিদের দ্বারা আমার পবিত্র নাম আর অপবিত্র করবে না।
And ye, the hous of Israel, the Lord God seith these thingis, Go ye ech man aftir youre idols, and serue ye tho. That and if ye heren not me in this, and defoulen more myn hooli name in youre yiftis,
40 ৪০ কারণ, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, আমার পবিত্র পর্বতে, ইস্রায়েলের উচ্চতার পর্বতে, ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত কুল, তারা সবাই, দেশের মধ্যে আমার সেবা করবে; সেই জায়গায় আমি তাদেরকে গ্রাহ্য করব, সেই জায়গায় তোমাদের সমস্ত পবিত্র বস্তুসহ তোমাদের উপহার ও তোমাদের নৈবেদ্যের প্রথম অংশ চাইব।
and in youre idols, in myn hooli hil, in the hiy hil of Israel, seith the Lord God, ye schulen be punyschid greuousliere. There al the hous of Israel schal serue me, sotheli alle men in the lond, in which thei schulen plese me; and there Y schal seke youre firste fruytis, and the bigynnyng of youre tithis in alle youre halewyngis.
41 ৪১ যখন জাতিদের মধ্যে থেকে তোমাদেরকে আনব এবং যে সব দেশে তোমার ছিন্নভিন্ন হয়ে রয়েছ, সেই সব দেশ থেকে তোমাদেরকে জড়ো করব, তখন আমি সুগন্ধের জিনিসের মতো তোমাদেরকে গ্রাহ্য করব; আর তোমাদের দ্বারা জাতিদের সামনে পবিত্র বলে মান্য হব।
Y schal resseiue you in to odour of swetnesse, whanne Y schal leede you out of puplis, and schal gadere you fro londis, in whiche ye weren scaterid; and Y schal be halewid in you bifor the iyen of naciouns.
42 ৪২ তারপর আমি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে যে দেশ দেব বলে হাত তুলেছিলাম, সেই ইস্রায়েল-দেশে যখন তোমাদেরকে আনব, তখন তোমার জানবে যে, আমিই সদাপ্রভু।
And ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, whanne Y schal bringe you in to the lond of Israel, in to the lond for which Y reiside myn hond, that Y schulde yyue it to youre fadris.
43 ৪৩ আর সেখানে তোমার সেই আচার ব্যবহার ও সমস্ত ক্রিয়াকাণ্ড মনে করবে, যার দ্বারা নিজেদেরকে অশুচি করেছ; আর তোমাদের করা সমস্ত খারাপ কাজের জন্য তোমার নিজেদের দৃষ্টিতে নিজেদেরকে ঘৃণা করবে।
And ye schulen haue mynde there on youre weies, and on alle youre grete trespassis, bi whiche ye ben defoulid in tho; and ye schulen displese you in youre siyt, in alle youre malices whiche ye diden.
44 ৪৪ হে ইস্রায়েল-কুল, প্রভু সদাপ্রভু বলেন, আমি যখন তোমাদের খারাপ ব্যবহার অনুসারে নয় ও তোমাদের দুষ্ট কাজ অনুসারে নয়, কিন্তু নিজের নামের অনুরোধে তোমাদের সঙ্গে ব্যবহার করব, তখন তোমার জানবে যে, আমিই সদাপ্রভু।
And ye schulen wite, that Y am the Lord, whanne Y schal do wel to you for my name; not bi youre yuel weies, nether bi youre worste trespassis, ye hous of Israel, seith the Lord God.
And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
46 ৪৬ হে মানুষের-সন্তান, তুমি দক্ষিণদিকে নিজের মুখ রাখ, দক্ষিণ দেশের দিকে বাক্য বর্ষণ কর ও দক্ষিণ মরুপ্রান্তের বনের বিপরীতে ভাববাণী বল।
and he seide, Thou, sone of man, sette thi face ayens the weie of the south, and droppe thou to the south, and profesie thou to the forest of the myddai feeld.
47 ৪৭ আর দক্ষিণের অরন্যকে বল, তুমি সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শুন; প্রভু সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, দেখ, আমি তোমার মধ্যে আগুন জ্বালাব, তা তোমার মধ্যে সমস্ত সতেজ গাছ ও সব শুকনো গাছ গ্রাস করবে; সেই জ্বলন্ত আগুন নিভবে না; দক্ষিণে থেকে উত্তর পর্যন্ত সমুদয় মুখ তার দ্বারা দগ্ধ হবে।
And thou schalt seie to the myddai forest, Here thou the word of the Lord. The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal kyndle a fier in thee, and Y schal brenne in thee ech green tre, and ech drie tre; the flawme of brennyng schal not be quenchid, and ech face schal be brent ther ynne, fro the south til to the north.
And ech man schal se, that Y the Lord haue kyndlid it, and it schal not be quenchid.
And Y seide, A! A! A! Lord God, thei seien of me, Whethir this man spekith not bi parablis?
