1 ১ পরে ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের সমস্ত মণ্ডলী সীন মরুভূমি থেকে যাত্রা শুরু করে সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ অনুসারে নির্ধারিত সমস্ত স্থান দিয়ে যাত্রা করে রফীদীমে গিয়ে শিবির স্থাপন করল; আর সেখানে লোকেদের পান করার জন্য জল ছিল না।
And all the congregation of the sons of Israel journey from the wilderness of Sin, on their journeys, by the command of YHWH, and encamp in Rephidim, and there is no water for the people to drink;
2 ২ এই জন্য লোকেরা মোশিকে দোষ দিয়ে বলল, “আমাদেরকে জল দাও, আমরা পান করব।” মোশি তাদেরকে বললেন, “কেন আমার সঙ্গে ঝগড়া করছ? কেন সদাপ্রভুর পরীক্ষা করছ?”
and the people strive with Moses, and say, “Give us water, and we drink.” And Moses says to them, “Why do you strive with me? Why do you try YHWH?”
3 ৩ তখন লোকেরা সেখানে জল পিপাসায় ব্যাকুল হল, আর মোশির বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ করে বলল, “তুমি আমাদেরকে এবং আমাদের সন্তানদের ও পশুদেরকে পিপাসিত করে হত্যা করতে মিশর থেকে কেন আনলে?”
And the people thirst for water there, and the people murmur against Moses, and say, “Why [is] this [that] you have brought us up out of Egypt to put us to death, also our sons and our livestock, with thirst?”
4 ৪ আর মোশি সদাপ্রভুর কাছে কেঁদে বললেন, “আমি এই লোকদের জন্য কি করব? কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে এরা আমাকে পাথরের আঘাতে হত্যা করবে।”
And Moses cries to YHWH, saying, “What do I do to this people? Yet a little, and they have stoned me.”
5 ৫ তখন সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, “তুমি লোকদের আগে যাও, ইস্রায়েলের কয়েক জন প্রাচীনকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে, আর যেটা দিয়ে নদীতে আঘাত করেছিলে, সেই লাঠি হাতে নিয়ে যাও।
And YHWH says to Moses, “Pass over before the people, and take with you from [the] elderly of Israel, and take your rod in your hand, with which you have struck the River, and you have gone.
6 ৬ দেখ, আমি হোরেবে সেই শিলার উপরে তোমার সামনে দাঁড়াবো; তুমি শিলাতে আঘাত করবে, তাতে সেটা থেকে জল বের হবে, আর লোকেরা পান করবে।” তখন মোশি ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনদের চোখের সামনে সেই রকম করলেন।
Behold, I am standing before you there on the rock in Horeb, and you have struck on the rock, and waters have come out from it, and the people have drunk.” And Moses does so before the eyes of [the] elderly of Israel,
7 ৭ তিনি সেই স্থানের নাম মঃসা ও মরীবা [পরীক্ষা ও বিবাদ] রাখলেন, কারণ ইস্রায়েল সন্তানরা অভিযোগ করেছিল এবং সদাপ্রভুর পরীক্ষা করে বলেছিল, সদাপ্রভু আমাদের মধ্যে আছেন কি না?
and he calls the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the strife of the sons of Israel, and because of their trying YHWH, saying, “Is YHWH in our midst or not?”
And Amalek comes, and fights with Israel in Rephidim,
9 ৯ তাতে মোশি যিহোশূয়কে বললেন, “তুমি আমাদের জন্য লোক বেছে নাও, যাও, অমালেকের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করো; কাল আমি ঈশ্বরের লাঠি হাতে নিয়ে পর্বতে চূড়ায় দাঁড়াব।”
and Moses says to Joshua, “Choose men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I am standing on the top of the hill, and the rod of God in my hand.”
10 ১০ পরে যিহোশূয় মোশির আদেশ অনুসারে কাজ করলেন; অমালেকের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করলেন এবং মোশি, হারোণ ও হূর পর্বতের শৃঙ্গে উঠলেন।
And Joshua does as Moses has said to him, to fight with Amalek, and Moses, Aaron, and Hur have gone up [to] the top of the height;
11 ১১ আর এইরকম হল, মোশি যখন তাঁর হাত তুলে ধরেন, তখন ইস্রায়েল জয়ী হয়, কিন্তু মোশি তাঁর হাত নামালে অমালেক জয়ী হয়।
and it has come to pass, when Moses lifts up his hand, that Israel has been mighty, and when he lets his hands rest, that Amalek has been mighty.
12 ১২ আর মোশির হাত ভারী হতে লাগল, তখন তাঁরা একটি পাথর এনে তাঁর নিচে রাখলেন, আর তিনি তাঁর উপরে বসলেন এবং হারোণ ও হূর একজন একদিকে ও অন্যজন অন্য দিকে তাঁর হাত ধরে রাখলেন, তাতে সূর্য্য না ডোবা পর্যন্ত তাঁর হাত স্থির থাকল।
And the hands of Moses [are] heavy, and they take a stone and set [it] under him, and he sits on it, and Aaron and Hur have taken hold on his hands, one on this [side] and one on that [side]; and his hands are steadfast until the going in of the sun;
and Joshua weakens Amalek and his people by the mouth of the sword.
14 ১৪ পরে সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, “এই কথা স্মরণে রাখার জন্য বইয়ে লেখ এবং যিহোশূয়ের কানের কাছে পড়ে শুনাও; কারণ আমি আকাশের নীচে থেকে অমালেকের স্মৃতি পুরোপুরি লোপ করব।”
And YHWH says to Moses, “Write this, a memorial in a Scroll, and set [it] in the ears of Joshua, that I utterly wipe away the remembrance of Amalek from under the heavens”;
and Moses builds an altar, and calls its name YHWH-Nissi,
16 ১৬ আর তিনি বললেন, “সদাপ্রভুর সিংহাসনের উপরে হাত উত্তোলিত হয়েছে; অমালোকির হস্ত সদাপ্রভুর উত্থানের বিরুদ্ধে উত্থিত হয়েছে।”
and says, “Because a hand [is] on the throne of YAH, war [is] to YHWH with Amalek from generation [to] generation.”
