ইফিষীয় 5

1 ১ অতএব প্রিয় শিশুদের মত তোমরা ঈশ্বরের অনুকারী হও।

Therfor be ye foloweris of God, as moost dereworthe sones;

2 ২ আর প্রেমে চল, যেমন খ্রীষ্টও তোমাদেরকে প্রেম করলেন এবং আমাদের জন্য ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে, সৌরভের জন্য, উপহার ও বলিরূপে নিজেকে বলিদান দিলেন।

and walke ye in loue, as Crist louyde vs, and yaf hym silf for vs an offryng and a sacrifice to God, in to the odour of swetnesse.

3 ৩ কিন্তু বেশ্যাগমনের ও সব প্রকার অপবিত্রতা বা লোভের নামও যেন তোমাদের মধ্যে না হয়, যেমন পবিত্রদের উপযুক্ত।

And fornycacioun, and al vnclennesse, or aueryce, be not named among you, as it bicometh holi men;

4 ৪ আর খারাপ ব্যবহার এবং প্রলাপ কিম্বা ঠাট্টা তামাশা, এই সকল অশ্লীলতা ব্যবহার যেন না হয়, বরং যেন ধন্যবাদ দেওয়া হয়।

ethir filthe, or foli speche, or harlatrye, that perteyneth not to profit, but more doyng of thankyngis.

5 ৫ কারণ তোমরা অবশ্যই জানো, বেশ্যাগামী কি অশুচি কি লোভী সে তো প্রতিমা পূজারী কেউই খ্রীষ্টের ও ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে অধিকার পায় না।

For wite ye this, and vndurstonde, that ech letchour, or vnclene man, or coueytouse, that serueth to mawmetis, hath not eritage in the kingdom of Crist and of God.

6 ৬ অযথা কথা দিয়ে কেউ যেন তোমাদেরকে না ভুলায়; কারণ এই সকল দোষের কারণে অবাধ্যতার সন্তানদের উপরে ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধ আসে।

No man disseyue you bi veyn wordis; for whi for these thingis the wraththe of God cam on the sones of vnbileue.

7 ৭ অতএব তাদের সহভাগী হয়ো না;

Therfor nyle ye be maad parteneris of hem.

8 ৮ কারণ তোমরা একদিনের অন্ধকার ছিলে, কিন্তু এখন প্রভুতে আলোকিত হয়েছ; আলোর সন্তানদের মত চল

For ye weren sum tyme derknessis, but now `ye ben liyt in the Lord. Walke ye as the sones of liyt.

9 ৯ কারণ সব রকম মঙ্গলভাবে, ধার্ম্মিকতায় ও সত্যে আলোর ফল হয়

For the fruyt of liyt is in al goodnesse, and riytwisnesse, and treuthe.

10 ১০ প্রভুর সন্তোষজনক কি, তার পরীক্ষা কর।

And preue ye what `thing is wel plesynge to God.

11 ১১ আর অন্ধকারের ফলহীন কাজের ভাগী হয়ো না, বরং সেগুলির দোষ দেখিয়ে দাও।

And nyle ye comyne to vnfruytouse werkis of derknessis; but more repreue ye.

12 ১২ কারণ ওরা গোপনে যে সব কাজ করে, তা উচ্চারণ করাও লজ্জার বিষয়।

For what thingis ben don of hem in priuy, it is foule, yhe, to speke.

13 ১৩ কিন্তু দোষ দেখিয়ে দেওয়া হলে সকলই আলোর দ্বারা প্রকাশ হয়ে পড়ে; সাধারণত যা প্রকাশ হয়ে পড়ে, তা সবই আলোকিত।

And alle thingis that ben repreuyd of the liyt, ben opynli schewid; for al thing that is schewid, is liyt.

14 ১৪ এই জন্য পবিত্র শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে, “হে ঘুমন্ত ব্যক্তি, জেগে ওঠ এবং মৃতদের ভিতর থেকে উঠ, তাতে খ্রীষ্ট তোমার উপরে আলোক উজ্জ্বল করবেন।”

For which thing he seith, Rise thou that slepist, and rise vp fro deth, and Crist schal liytne thee.

15 ১৫ অতএব তোমরা ভালো করে দেখ, কিভাবে চলছ; অজ্ঞানের মতো না চলে জ্ঞানীদের মতো চল।

Therfor, britheren, se ye, hou warli ye schulen go;

16 ১৬ সুযোগ কিনে নাও, কারণ এই দিন খারাপ।

not as vnwise men, but as wise men, ayenbiynge tyme, for the daies ben yuele.

17 ১৭ এই কারণ বোকা হয়ো না, কিন্তু প্রভুর ইচ্ছা কি, তা বোঝো।

Therfor nyle ye be maad vnwise, but vndurstondynge which is the wille of God.

18 ১৮ আর দ্রাক্ষারসে মাতাল হয়ো না, তাতে সর্বনাশ আছে; কিন্তু পবিত্র আত্মাতে পরিপূর্ণ হও;

And nyle ye be drunkun of wyn, in which is letcherie, but be ye fillid with the Hooli Goost; and speke ye to you silf in salmes,

19 ১৯ গীত, স্তোত্র ও আত্মিক সঙ্কীর্ত্তনে একে অপরে কথা বল; নিজ নিজ হৃদয়ে প্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে গান ও বাজনা কর;

and ymnes, and spiritual songis, syngynge and seiynge salm in youre hertis to the Lord;

20 ২০ সবদিন সব বিষয়ের জন্য আমাদের প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের নামে পিতা ঈশ্বরের ধন্যবাদ কর;

euermore doynge thankingis for alle thingis in the name of oure Lord Jhesu Crist to God and to the fadir.

21 ২১ খ্রীষ্টের ভয়ে একজন অন্য জনের বাধ্য হও।

Be ye suget togidere in the drede of Crist.

22 ২২ নারীরা, তোমরা যেমন প্রভুর, তেমনি নিজ নিজ স্বামীর বাধ্য হও।

Wymmen, be thei suget to her hosebondis,

23 ২৩ কারণ স্বামী স্ত্রীর মস্তক, যেমন খ্রীষ্টও মণ্ডলীর মস্তক; তিনি আবার দেহের উদ্ধারকর্তা;

as to the Lord, for the man is heed of the wymman, as Crist is heed of the chirche; he is sauyour of his bodi.

24 ২৪ কিন্তু মণ্ডলী যেমন খ্রীষ্টের বাধ্য, তেমনি নারীরা সব বিষয়ে নিজের নিজের স্বামীর বাধ্য হোক।

But as the chirche is suget to Crist, so wymmen to her hosebondis in alle thingis.

25 ২৫ স্বামীরা, তোমরা নিজের নিজের স্ত্রীকে সেই মত ভালবাসো, যেমন খ্রীষ্টও মণ্ডলীকে ভালবাসলেন, আর তার জন্য নিজেকে দান করলেন;

Men, loue ye youre wyues, as Crist louyde the chirche, and yaf hym silf for it, to make it holi;

26 ২৬ যেন তিনি জল স্নান দ্বারা বাক্যে তাকে শুচি করে পবিত্র করেন,

and clenside it with the waisching of watir, in the word of lijf,

27 ২৭ যেন নিজে নিজের কাছে মণ্ডলীকে মহিমাময় অবস্থায় উপস্থিত করেন, যেন তার কলঙ্ক বা সঙ্কোচ বা এই রকম আর কোন কিছুই না থাকে, বরং সে যেন পবিত্র ও নিন্দা হীন হয়।

to yyue the chirche gloriouse to hym silf, that it hadde no wem, ne ryueling, or ony siche thing, but that it be hooli and vndefoulid.

28 ২৮ এই রকম স্বামীরাও নিজ নিজ স্ত্রীকে নিজ নিজ শরীরের মত ভালবাসতে বাধ্য। নিজের স্ত্রীকে যে ভালবাসে, সে নিজেকেই ভালবাসে।

So and men `schulen loue her wyues, as her owne bodies. He that loueth his wijf, loueth hym silf;

29 ২৯ কেউ ত কখনও নিজ দেহের প্রতি ঘৃণা করে নি, বরং সবাই তার ভরণ পোষণ ও লালন পালন করে; যেমন খ্রীষ্টও মণ্ডলীকে করছেন;

for no man hatide euere his owne fleisch, but nurischith and fostrith it, as Crist doith the chirche.

30 ৩০ কারণ আমরা তাঁর দেহের অঙ্গ।

And we ben membris of his bodi, of his fleisch, and of his boonys.

31 ৩১ “এই জন্য মানুষ নিজ পিতা মাতাকে ত্যাগ করে নিজ স্ত্রীতে আসক্ত হবে এবং সেই দুই জন এক দেহ হবে।”

For this thing a man schal forsake his fadir and modir, and he schal drawe to his wijf; and thei schulen be tweyne in o fleisch.

32 ৩২ এই লুকানো সত্য মহৎ, কিন্তু আমি খ্রীষ্টের ও মণ্ডলীর উদ্দেশ্যে এটা বললাম।

This sacrament is greet; yhe, Y seie in Crist, and in the chirche.

33 ৩৩ তবুও তোমারও প্রত্যেকে নিজ নিজ স্ত্রীকে সেই রকম নিজের মত ভালবেস; কিন্তু স্ত্রীর উচিত যেন সে স্বামীকে ভয় করে।

Netheles ye alle, ech man loue his wijf as hym silf; and the wijf drede hir hosebonde.
