দ্বিতীয় বিবরণ 12
1 ১ তোমার পূর্বপুরুষদের (পিতা) ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে যে দেশ অধিকারের জন্যে দিয়েছেন, সেই দেশে এই সব বিধি ও শাসন, যত দিন পৃথিবীতে জীবিত থাকবে, যত্নসহকারে পালন করতে হবে।
And these [are] the ordinances and the judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the Lord God of your fathers gives you for an inheritance, all the days which ye live upon the land.
2 ২ তোমরা যে যে জাতিকে তাড়িয়ে দেবে, তারা উঁচু পর্বতের উপরে, পাহাড়ের উপরে ও সবুজ প্রত্যেক গাছের তলায় যে যে জায়গায় নিজেদের দেবতাদের সেবা করেছে, সেই সব জায়গা তোমরা একেবারে ধ্বংস করবে।
Ye shall utterly destroy all the places in which they served their gods, whose [land] ye inherit, on the high mountains and on the hills, and under the thick tree.
3 ৩ তোমরা তাদের যজ্ঞবেদি সব ভেঙে ফেলবে, তাদের থাম সব ভাঙ্গবে, তাদের আশেরা মূর্ত্তি সব আগুনে পুড়িয়ে দেবে, তাদের খোদাই করা দেবপ্রতিমা সব কেটে ফেলবে এবং সেই জায়গা থেকে তাদের নাম ধ্বংস করবে।
And ye shall destroy their altars, and break in pieces their pillars, and ye shall cut down their groves, and ye shall burn with fire the graven images of their gods, and ye shall abolish their name out of that place.
Ye shall not do so to the Lord your God.
5 ৫ কিন্তু তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু নিজের নাম স্থাপন করার জন্যে তোমাদের সমস্ত বংশের মধ্যে যে জায়গা বেছে নেবেন, তাঁর সেই বসবাসের জায়গা তোমরা খোঁজ করবে ও সেই জায়গায় উপস্থিত হবে।
But in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose in one of your cities to name his name there, and to be called upon, ye shall even seek [him] out and go thither.
6 ৬ আর নিজেদের হোম, বলি, দশমাংশ, হাতে তোলা উপহার, মানতের জিনিস, নিজের ইচ্ছায় দেওয়া নৈবেদ্য ও গরু মেষ পালের প্রথমজাতদেরকে সেই জায়গায় আনবে;
And ye shall carry thither your whole-burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your first-fruits, and your vowed-offerings, and your freewill-offerings, and your offerings of thanksgiving, the first-born of your herds, and of your flocks.
7 ৭ আর সেই জায়গায় তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সামনে খাবে এবং তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু থেকে পাওয়া আশীর্বাদ অনুসারে যে কিছুতে হাত দেবে, তাতেই সপরিবারে আনন্দ করবে।
And ye shall eat there before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice in all the things on which ye shall lay your hand, ye and your houses, as the Lord your God has blessed you.
Ye shall not do altogether as we do here to-day, every man that which is pleasing in his own sight.
9 ৯ কারণ তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে যে বিশ্রামের জায়গা ও অধিকার দিচ্ছেন, সেখানে তোমরা এখনও উপস্থিত হওনি।
For hitherto ye have not arrived at the rest and the inheritance, which the Lord our God gives you.
10 ১০ কিন্তু যখন তোমরা যর্দ্দন (নদী) পার হয়ে নিজের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর দেওয়া অধিকার দেশে বাস করবে এবং চারিদিকের সমস্ত শত্রু থেকে তিনি বিশ্রাম দিলে যখন তোমরা নির্ভয়ে বাস করবে;
And ye shall go over Jordan, and shall dwell in the land, which the Lord our God takes as an inheritance for you; and he shall give you rest from all your enemies round about, and ye shall dwell safely.
11 ১১ সেইদিনের তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু নিজের নামে বাস করার জন্য যে জায়গা বেছে নেবেন, সেই জায়গায় তোমরা আমার আদেশ করা সমস্ত জিনিস, নিজেদের হোম, বলি, দশমাংশ, হাতে তোলা উপহার ও সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে শপথ করা মানতের ভালো জিনিস সব আনবে।
And there shall be a place which the Lord thy God shall choose for his name to be called there, thither shall ye bring all things that I order you to-day; your whole-burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the first-fruits of your hands, and every choice gift of yours, whatsoever ye shall vow to the Lord your God.
12 ১২ আর তোমরা, তোমাদের ছেলেমেয়েরা ও তোমাদের দাসদাসীরা, আর তোমাদের শহরের দরজার মাঝে লেবীয়, কারণ যেমন তার অংশ ও অধিকার তোমাদের মধ্যে নেই, তোমরা সবাই নিজেদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সামনে আনন্দ করবে।
And ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God, ye and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants and your maid-servants, and the Levite that is at your gates; because he has no portion or inheritance with you.
Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy whole-burnt-offerings in any place which thou shalt see;
14 ১৪ কিন্তু তোমার কোনো এক বংশের মধ্যে যে জায়গা সদাপ্রভু বেছে নেবেন, সেই জায়গাতেই তোমার হোমবলি উৎসর্গ করবে ও সেই জায়গায় আমার আদেশ করা সব কাজ করবে।
save in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose, in one of thy tribes, there shall ye offer your whole-burnt-offerings, and there shalt thou do all things whatsoever I charge thee this day.
15 ১৫ তাছাড়া যখন তোমার প্রাণের ইচ্ছা হবে, তখন তুমি নিজের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর দেওয়া আশীর্বাদ অনুসারে নিজের সব শহরের দরজার ভিতরে পশু হত্যা করে মাংস খেতে পারবে; অশুচি কি শুচি লোক সবাই কৃষ্ণসারের ও হরিণের মাংসের মত তা খেতে পারবে।
But thou shalt kill according to all thy desire, and shalt eat flesh according to the blessing of the Lord thy God, which he has given thee in every city; the unclean that is within thee and the clean shall eat it on equal terms, as the doe or the stag.
Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it out on the ground as water.
17 ১৭ তোমরা শস্যের, আঙ্গুর রসের ও তেলের দশমাংশ, গরু মেষের প্রথমজাত এবং যা মানত করবে, সেই মানতের জিনিস, নিজের ইচ্ছায় দেওয়া নৈবেদ্য ও হাতে তোলা উপহার, এই সব তুমি নিজের শহরের দরজার মধ্যে খেতে পারবে না।
Thou shalt not be able to eat in thy cities the tithe of thy corn, and of thy wine, and of thine oil, the first-born of thine herd and of thy flock, and all [your] vows as many as ye shall have vowed, and your thank-offerings, and the first-fruits of thine hands.
18 ১৮ কিন্তু তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু যে জায়গা বেছে নেবেন, সেই জায়গায় তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তুমি, তোমার ছেলেমেয়ে, তোমার দাসদাসী ও তোমার শহরের দরজার মাঝে লেবীয়, সবাই তা খাবে এবং তুমি যে কিছুতে হাত দেবে, তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তাতেই আনন্দ করবে।
But before the Lord thy God thou shalt eat it, in the place which the Lord thy God shall choose for himself, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the stranger that is within thy gates; and thou shalt rejoice before the Lord thy God, on whatsoever thou shalt lay thine hand.
Take heed to thyself that thou do not desert the Levite all the time that thou livest upon the earth.
20 ২০ তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু যেমন শপথ করেছেন, সেই অনুসারে যখন তোমার সীমা বিস্তার করবেন এবং মাংস খাওয়ায় তোমার প্রাণের ইচ্ছা হলে তুমি বলবে, মাংস খাব, তখন তুমি প্রাণের ইচ্ছা অনুসারে মাংস খাবে।
And if the Lord thy God shall enlarge thy borders, as he said to thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh; if thy soul should desire to eat flesh, thou shalt eat flesh according to all the desire of thy soul.
21 ২১ আর তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু নিজের নাম স্থাপনের জন্যে যে জায়গা বেছে নেবেন, তা যদি তোমার থেকে অনেক দূর হয়, তবে আমি যেমন বলেছি, সেই অনুসারে তুমি সদাপ্রভুর দেওয়া গরু মেষের পাল থেকে পশু নিয়ে হত্যা করবে ও নিজের প্রাণের ইচ্ছা অনুসারে শহরের দরজার ভিতরে খেতে পারবে।
And if the place be far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose for himself, that his name be called upon it, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock which God shall have given thee, even as I commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy cities according to the desire of thy soul.
As the doe and the stag are eaten, so shalt thou eat it; the unclean in thee and the clean shall eat it in like manner.
Take diligent heed that thou eat no blood, for blood [is] the life of it; the life shall not be eaten with the flesh.
Ye shall not eat [it]; ye shall pour it out on the ground as water.
25 ২৫ তুমি তা খাবে না; যাতে সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা সঠিক, তা করলে তোমার ভালো ও তোমার পরবর্তী ছেলে মেয়েদের ভালো হয়।
Thou shalt not eat it, that it may be well with thee and with thy sons after thee, if thou shalt do that which is good and pleasing before the Lord thy God.
26 ২৬ শুধু তোমার যত পবিত্র জিনিস থাকে এবং তোমার যত মানতের জিনিস থাকে, সেই সব নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর বেছে দেওয়া জায়গায় যাবে;
But thou shalt take thy holy things, if thou hast any, and thy vowed-offerings, and come to the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to have his name named upon it.
27 ২৭ আর তোমরা ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর যজ্ঞবেদির উপরে তোমার হোমবলি, মাংস ও রক্ত উৎসর্গ করবে, আর তোমার বলিসমূহের রক্ত তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর যজ্ঞবেদির উপরে ঢেলে দেবে, পরে তার মাংস খেতে পারবে।
And thou shalt sacrifice thy whole-burnt-offerings, thou shalt offer the flesh upon the altar of the Lord thy God; but the blood of thy sacrifices thou shalt pour out at the foot of the altar of the Lord thy God, but the flesh thou shalt eat.
28 ২৮ সাবধান হয়ে আমার আদেশ দেওয়া এই সমস্ত বাক্য মেনে চল, যেন তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা ভালো ও সঠিক, তা করলে তোমার ও চিরকাল তোমার পরবর্তী ছেলে মেয়েদের ভালো হয়।
Beware and hearken, and thou shalt do all the commands which I charge thee, that it may be well with thee and with thy sons for ever, if thou shalt do that which is pleasing and good before the Lord thy God.
29 ২৯ তুমি যে জাতিদেরকে তাড়িয়ে দিতে যাচ্ছ, তাদেরকে যখন তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমার সামনে থেকে উচ্ছেদ করবেন ও তুমি তাদেরকে তাড়িয়ে দেবে তাদের দেশে বাস করবে;
And if the Lord thy God shall utterly destroy the nations, to whom thou goest in thither to inherit their land, from before thee, and thou shalt inherit it, and dwell in their land;
30 ৩০ তখন নিজেরা সাবধান থেকো যে, তোমার সামনে থেকে তাদের ধ্বংস হলে পর তুমি তাদের অনুগামী হয়ে ফাঁদে পড় এবং পাছে তাদের দেবতাদের খোঁজ করে বল, “এই জাতিরা নিজেদের দেবতাদের সেবা কিভাবে করে? আমিও সেই ভাবে করব।”
take heed to thyself that thou seek not to follow them after they are destroyed before thee, saying, How do these nations act towards their gods? I will do likewise.
31 ৩১ তুমি নিজের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর প্রতি সেরকম করবে না; কারণ তারা নিজেদের দেবতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে সদাপ্রভুর ঘৃণিত যাবতীয় খারাপ কাজ করেছে; এমন কি, তারা সেই দেবতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে নিজেদের ছেলেমেয়েদেরকেও আগুনে পোড়ায়।
Thou shalt not do so to thy God; for they have sacrificed to their gods the abominations of the Lord which he hates, for they burn their sons and their daughters in fire to their gods.
32 ৩২ আমি যে কোনো বিষয় তোমাদেরকে আজ্ঞা করলাম তোমরা সেটাই যত্নসহকারে পালন করবে; তোমরা তাতে কোনো কিছু যোগ করবে না এবং তা থেকে কিছু বাদ দেবে না।
Every word that I command you this day, it shalt thou observe to do: thou shalt not add to it, nor diminish from it.
