শমূয়েলের দ্বিতীয় বই 8

1 ১ তারপরে দায়ূদ পলেষ্টীয়দেরকে আঘাত করে পরাজিত করলেন, আর দায়ূদ পলেষ্টীয়দের হাত থেকে প্রধান নগরের কর্তৃত্ব কেড়ে নিলেন৷

And it cometh to pass afterwards that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and David taketh the bridle of the metropolis out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 ২ আর তিনি মোয়াবীয়দেরকে আঘাত করে দড়ি দিয়ে মাপলেন, মাটিতে শুইয়ে হত্যা করার জন্য দুই দড়ি এবং জীবিত রাখবার জন্য সম্পূর্ণ এক দড়ি দিয়ে মাপলেন; তাতে মোয়াবীয়েরা দায়ূদের দাস হয়ে উপহার আনল৷

And he smiteth Moab, and measureth them with a line, causing them to lie down on the earth, and he measureth two lines to put to death, and the fulness of the line to keep alive, and the Moabites are to David for servants, bearers of a present.

3 ৩ আর যে দিনের সোবার রাজা রহোবের ছেলে হদদেষর ফরাৎ নদীর কাছে নিজের কর্তৃত্ব আবার স্থাপন করতে যান, তখন দায়ূদ তাঁকে আঘাত করেন৷

And David smiteth Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, in his going to bring back his power by the River [Euphrates; ]

4 ৪ দায়ূদ তাঁর কাছ থেকে সতেরশো ঘোড়াচালক ও কুড়ি হাজার পদাতিক সৈন্য নিজের দখলে আনলেন, আর দায়ূদ তাঁর রথের ঘোড়াদের পায়ের শিরা ছিঁড়ে দিলেন, কিন্তু তার মধ্যে একশোটি রথের জন্য ঘোড়া রাখলেন৷

and David captureth from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroyeth utterly the whole of the charioteers, only he leaveth of them a hundred charioteers.

5 ৫ পরে দম্মেশকের অরামীয়েরা সোবার হদদেষের রাজাকে সাহায্য করতে এলে দায়ূদ সেই অরামীয়দের মধ্যে বাইশ হাজার জনকে আঘাত করলেন৷

And Aram of Damascus cometh to give help to Hadadezer king of Zobah, and David smiteth of Aram twenty and two thousand men;

6 ৬ আর দায়ূদ দম্মেশকের অরাম দেশে সৈন্য স্থাপন করলেন, তাতে অরামীয়েরা দায়ূদের দাস হয়ে উপহার আনল৷ এই ভাবে দায়ূদ যে কোন জায়গায় যেতেন, সেই জায়গায় সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে বিজয়ী করতেন৷

and David putteth garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and Aram is to David for a servant, bearing a present; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone;

7 ৭ আর দায়ূদ হদদেষরের আধিকারিকগণ সোনার ঢালগুলো খুলে যিরূশালেমে আনলেন৷

and David taketh the shields of gold which were on the servants of Hadadezer, and bringeth them to Jerusalem;

8 ৮ আর দায়ূদ রাজা হদদেষরের বেটহ ও বেরোথা নগর থেকে অনেক পিতল আনলেন৷

and from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, hath king David taken very much brass.

9 ৯ আর দায়ূদ হদদেষরের সমস্ত সৈন্যদলকে আঘাত করেছেন শুনে হমাতের রাজা তয়ি দায়ূদ রাজা কেমন আছেন জিজ্ঞাসা করবার জন্য

And Toi king of Hamath heareth that David hath smitten all the force of Hadadezer,

10 ১০ এবং তিনি হদদেষরের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করে তাঁকে আঘাত করেছেন বলে তাঁর ধন্যবাদ করবার জন্য নিজের ছেলে যোরামকে তাঁর কাছে পাঠালেন; কারণ হদদেষরের সঙ্গে তয়িরও যুদ্ধ হয়েছিল৷ যোরাম রূপার পাত্র, সোনার পাত্র ও পিতলের পাত্র সঙ্গে নিয়ে আসলেন৷

and Toi sendeth Joram his son unto king David to ask of him of welfare, and to bless him, (because that he hath fought against Hadadezer, and smiteth him, for a man of wars [with] Toi had Hadadezer been), and in his hand have been vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass,

11 ১১ তাতে দায়ূদ রাজা সে সেগুলিও সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে পবিত্র করলেন;

also them did king David sanctify to Jehovah, with the silver and the gold which he sanctified of all the nations which he subdued:

12 ১২ তাই অরাম, মোয়াব, অম্মোনের লোকেরা এবং পলেষ্টীয় ও অমালেক প্রভৃতি যে সমস্ত জাতিকে তিনি বশীভূত করেছিলেন, তাদের থেকে পাওয়া জিনিসের মধ্যে রূপো ও সোনা এবং সোবার রাজা রহোবের ছেলে হদদেষর থেকে পাওয়া লুটিত জিনিস সকল তিনি পবিত্র করেছিলেন৷

of Aram, and of Moab, and of the Bene-Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob king of Zobah.

13 ১৩ আর দায়ূদ অরামকে আঘাত করে ফিরে আসবার দিন লবণ উপত্যকাতে আঠারো হাজার জনকে হত্যা করে খুব সুনাম অর্জন করলেন৷

And David maketh a name in his turning back from his smiting Aram in the valley of Salt — eighteen thousand;

14 ১৪ পরে দায়ূদ ইদোমে সৈন্যশিবির স্থাপন করলেন, সমস্ত ইদোমে সৈন্যশিবির রাখলেন এবং ইদোমীয় সব লোক দায়ূদের দাস হল৷ আর দায়ূদ যে কোনো জায়গায় যেতেন, সেই জায়গায় সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে বিজয়ী করতেন৷

and he putteth in Edom garrisons — in all Edom he hath put garrisons, and all Edom are servants to David; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone.

15 ১৫ দায়ূদ সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলের উপরে রাজত্ব করলেন; দায়ূদ নিজের সমস্ত প্রজা লোকের পক্ষে বিচার ও ন্যায় সম্পন্ন করতেন৷

And David reigneth over all Israel, and David is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

16 ১৬ আর সরূয়ার ছেলে যোয়াব প্রধান সেনাপতি ছিলেন এবং অহীলূদের ছেলে যিহোশাফট যিনি ইতিহাসের লেখক ছিলেন;

and Joab son of Zeruiah [is] over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer,

17 ১৭ আর অহীটূবের ছেলে সাদোক ও অবিয়াথরের ছেলে অহীমেলক যাজক ছিলেন এবং সরায় লেখক ছিলেন;

and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, [are] priests, and Seraiah [is] scribe,

18 ১৮ আর যিহোয়াদার ছেলে বনায় করেথীয় ও পলেথীদের উপরে নিযুক্ত ছিলেন এবং দায়ূদের ছেলেরা যাজক ছিলেন৷

and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is over] both the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the sons of David have been ministers.
