দ্বিতীয় রাজাবলি 2
1 ১ পরে যখন সদাপ্রভু ঘুর্ণিঝড়ে এলিয়কে স্বর্গে তুলে নিতে চাইলেন তখন এলিয় ও ইলীশায় গিল্গল থেকে বের হলেন।
So it came about, when Yahweh was going to take up Elijah by a whirlwind into heaven, that Elijah left with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 ২ আর এলিয় ইলীশায়কে বললেন, “অনুরোধ করি, তুমি এখানে থাক; কারণ সদাপ্রভু আমাকে বৈথেল পর্যন্ত পাঠালেন।” ইলীশায় বললেন, “যতদিন সদাপ্রভু আছেন ও আপনি আছেন, আমি আপনাকে ছাড়ব না।” কাজেই তাঁরা বৈথেলে নেমে গেলেন।
Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, please, because Yahweh has sent me to Bethel.” Elisha replied, “As Yahweh lives, and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.
3 ৩ তখন বৈথেলের ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা ইলীশায়ের কাছে গিয়ে বলল, “আপনি কি জানেন যে, সদাপ্রভু আপনার প্রভুকে আজ আপনার কাছ থেকে নিয়ে যাবেন?” উত্তরে ইলীশায় বললেন, “হ্যাঁ, আমি জানি। তোমরা চুপ করো।”
The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from you today?” Elisha replied, “Yes, I know it, but do not talk about it.”
4 ৪ এরপর এলিয় তাঁকে বললেন, “ইলীশায়, অনুরোধ করি, তুমি এখানে থাক; কারণ সদাপ্রভু আমাকে যিরীহোতে পাঠালেন।” ইলীশায় বললেন, “যতদিন সদাপ্রভু আছেন ও আপনি আছেন, আমি আপনাকে ছাড়ব না।” সুতরাং তাঁরা যিরীহোতে গেলেন।
Elijah said to him, “Elisha, wait here, please, for Yahweh has sent me to Jericho.” Then Elisha replied, “As Yahweh lives, and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went to Jericho.
5 ৫ তখন যিরীহোর ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা ইলীশায়ের কাছে গিয়ে বললেন, “আপনি কি জানেন যে, সদাপ্রভু আপনার প্রভুকে আজ আপনার কাছ থেকে নিয়ে যাবেন?” উত্তরে ইলীশায় বললেন, “হ্যাঁ, আমি জানি। তোমরা চুপ করো।”
Then the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from you today?” Elisha answered, “Yes, I know it, but do not talk about it.”
6 ৬ এরপর এলিয় তাঁকে বললেন, “অনুরোধ করি, তুমি এখানে থাক; কারণ সদাপ্রভু আমাকে যর্দ্দন নদীর পারে পাঠালেন।” উত্তরে তিনি বললেন, “যতদিন সদাপ্রভু আছেন ও আপনি আছেন, আমি আপনাকে ছাড়ব না।” সুতরাং তাঁরা দুজন চলতে লাগলেন।
Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here, please, for Yahweh has sent me to the Jordan.” Elisha replied, “As Yahweh lives, and as you live, I will not leave you.” So the two went on.
7 ৭ তখন পঞ্চাশজন ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা এসে তাঁদের সামনে দাঁড়ালো, আর যর্দ্দন নদীর ধারে ঐ দুজন দাঁড়ালেন।
Later, fifty of the sons of the prophets stood opposite them at a distance while the two stood by the Jordan.
8 ৮ পরে এলিয় তাঁর গায়ের চাদরটা গুটিয়ে নিয়ে তা দিয়ে জলের উপর আঘাত করলেন, তাতে জল দুদিকে ভাগ হয়ে গেল আর তাঁরা দুজনে শুকনো মাটির উপর দিয়ে পার হয়ে গেলেন।
Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up, and struck the water with it. The river divided on both sides so that the two of them walked over on dry ground.
9 ৯ পার হয়ে এসে এলিয় ইলীশায়কে বললেন, “আমাকে বল, তোমার কাছ থেকে আমাকে তুলে নেবার আগে আমি তোমার জন্য কি করব?” উত্তরে ইলীশায় বললেন, “অনুরোধ করি, আপনার আত্মার দ্বিগুন শক্তি যেন আমি পাই।”
It came about, after they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask me what I should do for you before I am taken from you.” Elisha replied, “Please let a double portion of your spirit come on me.”
10 ১০ তিনি বললেন, “তুমি একটি কঠিন জিনিস চেয়েছ; তোমার কাছ থেকে আমাকে নিয়ে যাবার দিন যদি তুমি আমাকে দেখতে পাও তবে তুমি তা পাবে; দেখতে না পেলে পাবে না।”
Elijah answered, “You have asked for a difficult thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, this will happen for you, but if not, it will not happen.”
11 ১১ পরে এইরকম ঘটল; তাঁরা যেতে যেতে কথা বলছেন, এমন দিন হঠাৎ একটা আগুনের রথ ও আগুনের কতগুলি ঘোড়া এসে তাঁদের দুজনকে আলাদা করে দিল এবং এলিয় একটা ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে স্বর্গে চলে গেলেন।
As they still went on and talked, behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared, which separated the two men from each other, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 ১২ আর ইলীশায় তা দেখে চিৎকার করে বললেন, “হে আমার পিতা, হে আমার পিতা, হে ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত রথ ও তার ঘোড়াচালকরা।” পরে তিনি আর তাঁকে দেখতে পেলেন না; তখন তিনি নিজের কাপড় ধরে ছিঁড়ে দুভাগ করলেন।
Elisha saw it and cried out, “My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” He saw Elijah no more, and he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.
13 ১৩ আর তিনি এলিয়ের গা থেকে পড়ে যাওয়া চাদরখানা তুলে নিলেন এবং ফিরে যর্দ্দনের ধারে গিয়ে দাঁড়ালেন।
He picked up Elijah's cloak that had fallen off him, and went back to stand by the bank of the Jordan.
14 ১৪ পরে সেই চাদরখানা দিয়ে তিনি জলে আঘাত করে বললেন, “এলিয়ের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু কোথায়?” আর তিনিও জলে আঘাত করলে জল দুদিকে ভাগ হয়ে গেল এবং ইলীশায় পার হয়ে গেলেন।
He struck the water with Elijah's cloak that had fallen and said, “Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?” When he had struck the waters, they divided on both sides and Elisha crossed over.
15 ১৫ তখন যিরীহোর যে ভাববাদীদের সন্তানেরা সেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিল তারা বলল, “এলিয়ের আত্মা ইলীশায়ের উপর এসেছে।” পরে তারা তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করে তাঁর সামনে মাটিতে প্রণাম করল।
When the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him across from them, they said, “The spirit of Elijah does rest on Elisha!” So they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
16 ১৬ আর তাঁকে বলল, “দেখুন, এখানে আপনার পঞ্চাশজন শক্তিশালী দাস আছে; অনুরোধ করি, তারা আপনার প্রভুকে খুঁজতে যাক; কি জানি, সদাপ্রভুর আত্মা তাঁকে তুলে নিয়ে গিয়ে কোন পর্বতে কিংবা কোন উপত্যকায় ফেলে গেছেন।” তিনি বললেন, “পাঠিও না।”
They said to him, “See now, among your servants there are fifty strong men. Let them go, we ask, and look for your master, in case the Spirit of Yahweh has taken him up and thrown him onto some mountain or into some valley.” Elisha answered, “No, do not send them.”
17 ১৭ তবুও তারা তাঁকে পীড়াপীড়ি করলে তিনি লজ্জায় পড়ে বললেন, “পাঠাও।” অতএব তারা পঞ্চাশজন লোক পাঠালো; তারা তিন দিন ধরে খোঁজ করেও তাঁকে পেল না।
But when they urged Elisha until he was ashamed, he said, “Send them.” Then they sent fifty men, and they looked for three days, but did not find him.
18 ১৮ পরে তারা ইলীশায়ের কাছে ফিরে এলো; ইলীশায় তখন যিরীহোতে ছিলেন। তিনি বললেন, “আমি তোমাদেরকে বলেছিলাম যে যেতে হবে না।”
They came back to Elisha, while he stayed at Jericho, and he said to them, “Did I not say to you, 'Do not go'?”
19 ১৯ পরে নগরের লোকেরা ইলীশায়কে বলল, “অনুরোধ করি, দেখুন, এই নগরের জায়গাটা চমৎকার ঠিকই, এটা তো প্রভু দেখছেন; কিন্তু এর জল ভাল নয় আর জমি ফলবান না।”
The men of the city said to Elisha, “See, we beg of you, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my master can see, but the water is bad and the land is not fruitful.”
Elisha replied, “Bring me a new bowl and put salt in it,” so they brought it to him.
21 ২১ তিনি বাইরে বেরিয়ে জলের উনুইর কাছে গিয়ে তার মধ্যে লবণ ফেলে দিয়ে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু বলেন, ‘আমি এই জল ভাল করে দিলাম, আজ থেকে এটা আর মৃত্যু ঘটাবে না এবং ফলও নষ্ট হবে না’।”
Elisha went out to the spring of water and threw salt in it; then he said, “Yahweh says this, 'I have healed these waters. From this time on, there will be no more death or unfruitful land.'”
So the waters were healed to this day, by the word which Elisha spoke.
23 ২৩ পরে তিনি সেখান থেকে বৈথেলে গেলেন; আর তিনি পথে যাওয়ার দিন নগর থেকে অনেকগুলো ছেলে এসে তাঁকে ঠাট্টা করে বলতে লাগল, “ও টাকপড়া, উঠে আয়; ও টাকপড়া, উঠে আয়।”
Then Elisha went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up the road, young boys came out of the city and mocked him; they said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!”
24 ২৪ তখন তিনি পিছনের দিকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে তাদেরকে দেখলেন এবং সদাপ্রভুর নামে তাদেরকে অভিশাপ দিলেন; আর বন থেকে দুটি ভাল্লূকী বেরিয়ে এসে তাদের মধ্য থেকে বিয়াল্লিশজন বালককে আহত করলো।
Elisha looked behind him and saw them; he called on Yahweh to curse them. Then two female bears came out of the woods and injured forty-two of the boys.
Then Elisha went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.
