২য় করিন্থীয় 8

1 ১ মাকিদনিয়া মণ্ডলীর ভাই এবং বোনদেরকে ঈশ্বরের যে অনুগ্রহ দান দেওয়া হয়েছে তা আমরা তোমাদের জানাতে চাই।

Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God which hath been bestowed in the churches of Macedonia;

2 ২ যদিও বিশ্বাসীরা খুব কষ্টের মধ্যে দিন কাটাছিল, তা সত্বেও তারা খুব আনন্দে ছিল এবং তাদের দারিদ্রতা সত্বেও তারা নিজেদের ক্ষমতার থেকে বেশি দান দিয়েছিল।

that under a great trial of distress the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty increased the riches of their liberality;

3 ৩ আমি সাক্ষী দিচ্ছি তারা তাদের সামর্থ্য অনুযায়ী দান করেছিল এবং তাদের সামর্থ্যের থেকেও বেশি দান দিয়েছিল এবং তাদের নিজের ইচ্ছায়।

for according to their power, I bear witness, and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,

4 ৪ তারা খুব আগ্রহের সঙ্গে আমাদের কাছে মিনতি করেছিল বিশ্বাসীদের পরিষেবায়, সহভাগীতায় এবং অনুগ্রহে বিশেষভাবে যেন অংশগ্রহণ করতে পারে।

begging of us with much entreaty the favor of sharing in the ministration to the saints;

5 ৫ আমাদের আশা অনুযায়ী এটা ঘটেনি, কিন্তু প্রথমে তারা নিজেদেরকে প্রভুকে দিয়েছিল এবং তারপর ঈশ্বরের ইচ্ছা অনুযায়ী আমাদের দিলেন।

and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and to us by the will of God;

6 ৬ সেইজন্য আমরা তীতকে ডাকলাম, তিনি আগে থেকে যেমন তোমার সঙ্গে শুরু করেছিলেন, তেমন তোমাদের মধ্যে অনুগ্রহের কাজ শেষ করেন।

so that we urged Titus, that, as he had already made a beginning, so he would also finish among you this bounty also.

7 ৭ কিন্তু তোমরা সব বিষয়ে ভাল বিশ্বাসে, বক্তৃতায়, জ্ঞানে, অধ্যাবসায়ে এবং আমাদের ওপর তোমাদের ভালবাসা, তুমিও নিশ্চিত ভাবে এই অনুগ্রহের কাজে উপচে পড়।

But as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and all earnestness, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this exercise of liberality also.

8 ৮ আমি এই কথা আদেশ করে বলছি না কিন্তু তোমাদের আন্তরিক ভালবাসার সঙ্গে অন্য লোকদের পরিশ্রমের তুলনা নেই

I speak not by way of command, but by reason of the earnestness of others, and to prove the genuineness of your love.

9 ৯ তোমরা আমাদের প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের অনুগ্রহের কথা জানো, যদিও তিনি ধনী ছিলেন, তোমাদের জন্য গরিব হলেন, সুতরাং তোমরা যেন তাঁর দারিদ্রতাই ধনী হতে পার।

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

10 ১০ এই বিষয়ে আমি তোমাদের উপদেশ দিচ্ছি কিভাবে তোমরা সাহায্য পাবে: এক বছর আগেও তোমরা কিছু করতে শুরু করো নি, কিন্তু তোমরা এটা করার ইচ্ছা করেছিলে।

And I only give an opinion in this matter. For this is expedient for you, who began before others, not only to do, but also to be willing, a year ago.

11 ১১ এখন এই কাজ শেষ কর। সুতরাং যে আগ্রহ এবং ইচ্ছা নিয়ে এই কাজ করেছিলে, তারপর তোমরাও তোমাদের ক্ষমতা অনুযায়ী কাজ শেষ করতে পারবে।

Now therefore perform the doing of it, that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.

12 ১২ যদি আগ্রহের সঙ্গে কাজ করে এই কাজের অস্তিত্ব রাখ, এটি একটি ভালো এবং গ্রহণযোগ্য বিষয়, একজন লোকের কি আছে, যার নেই তার কাছে তিনি কিছু চান না।

For if there be first the willing mind, it is accepted according to what a man hath, not according to what he hath not.

13 ১৩ এই কাজে অন্যদের উপশম এবং তোমরা বোঝা হবে। কিন্তু সেখানে সুবিচার হবে।

For it is not that others may be eased, and you burdened,

14 ১৪ বর্ত্তমান দিনের তোমাদের প্রাচুর্য্য তাদের যা প্রয়োজন তা যোগান দেবে এবং ঐ ভাবে সেখানে সুবিচার হবে,

but to make an equality; at the present season your abundance meeting their deficiency, that their abundance may at another time meet your deficiency; that there may be equality;

15 ১৫ এই ভাবে লেখা আছে, “মরুপ্রান্তে যে অনেক মান্না সংগ্রহ করে ছিল তার কিছুই অবশিষ্ট থাকলো না; কিন্তু যে কম মান্না সংগ্রহ করে ছিল তার অভাব হল না।”

as it is written: “He that gathered much, had nothing over; and he that gathered little, had no lack.”

16 ১৬ কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের ধন্যবাদ দিই, তিনি তীতের হৃদয়ে সেই রকম আন্তরিক যত্ন দিয়েছিলেন যে রকম আমার তোমাদের ওপর আছে।

But thanks be to God, who put the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus;

17 ১৭ তিনি কেবলমাত্র আমাদের আবেদন গ্রহণ করেননি, কিন্তু এটার বাপ্যারে তিনি বেশি আগ্রহী, তিনি নিজের ইচ্ছায় তোমাদের কাছে এলেন।

for he accepted indeed the exhortation; but being very earnest, he went of his own accord to you.

18 ১৮ এবং আমরা তাঁর সঙ্গে সেই ভাইকে পাঠালাম, যিনি সব মণ্ডলীর প্রশংসা সুসমাচার প্রচারের মাধ্যমে করেছিলেন।

And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise in the gospel is throughout all the churches;

19 ১৯ কেবল এই নয়, কিন্তু মণ্ডলীর দ্বারা তিনিও নিয়োগ হয়েছিলেন তাঁর সঙ্গে এই দান বয়ে নিয়ে যাবার ও এই অনুগ্রহ কার্য্য প্রভুর নিজের গৌরবের জন্য এবং আমাদের আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করার জন্যই পরিষেবা সম্পাদিত হচ্ছে।

and not that only, but who was also appointed by the churches as our fellow-traveler in the matter of this bounty, which is administered by us to the honor of the Lord himself, and of our ready mind;

20 ২০ আমরা এই সম্ভবনাকে এড়িয়ে চলছি এই মহৎ দান সংগ্রহের জন্য কেউ যেন আমাদের দোষ না দেয়।

since we are careful of this, that no one should blame us in our management of this abundant liberality;

21 ২১ আমরা যে শুধু প্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে সম্মান নিয়ে চলি তা নয় আমরা লোকেদের সামনে ও সেইভাবে চলি।

for we take forethought for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

22 ২২ এবং এই ভাইদের তোমাদের সঙ্গে পাঠাচ্ছি, তাদের সঙ্গে ওপর ভাইকে পাঠালাম যাকে আমরা সবদিন পরীক্ষা করে এবং দেখে অনেক কাজে উদ্যোগী কিন্তু বেশি পরিশ্রমী সেই ভাইকে পাঠালাম, কারণ তোমাদের মধ্যে তাঁর মহান আশা আছে

And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have often in many things proved to be zealous, but now much more zealous through the great confidence which he hath in you.

23 ২৩ তীতের জন্য, তিনি আমাদের অংশীদার এবং তোমাদের সহ দাস। আমাদের ভাইদের যাঁদের মণ্ডলীগুলি পাঠিয়েছিল খ্রীষ্টের গৌরবের জন্য।

As to Titus, he is my partner and fellow-laborer for you; as to our brethren, they are messengers of the churches, the glory of Christ.

24 ২৪ সুতরাং তাদের তোমার ভালবাসা দেখাও, তাদের দেখাও কেন আমারা তোমাদের নিয়ে অপর মণ্ডলী গুলির মধ্যে গর্ব বোধ করি।

Display to them, therefore, before the churches, the proof of your love, and of what we have boasted on your behalf.
