Therefore, since it is by God’s mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart.
2 ২ বরং অন্যেরা যে সব লজ্জার ও গুপ্ত কাজ করে তা আমরা করি না। আমরা ছলনা করি না এবং ঈশ্বরের বাক্যকে ভুল ব্যাখ্যা করি না, কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের সামনে সত্য প্রকাশ করে মানুষের বিবেক নিজেদেরকে যোগ্য করে তোলে।
No, we have renounced the secrecy prompted by shame, refusing to adopt crafty ways, or to tamper with God’s Message, and commending ourselves to every man’s conscience, in the sight of God, by our exhibition of the Truth.
And, even if the Good News that we bring is veiled, it is veiled only in the case of those who are on the path to Ruin —
4 ৪ এই যুগের দেবতা অর্থাৎ জগতের শাসনকর্তারা অবিশ্বাসী লোকদের মনকে অন্ধ করে রেখেছে যেন ঈশ্বরের প্রতিমূর্ত্তি যে খ্রীষ্ট, তাঁর গৌরবের সুসমাচারের আলো তারা দেখতে না পায়। (aiōn g165)
Men whose minds have been blinded by the God of this Age, unbelievers as they are, so that the light from the Good News of the glory of the Christ, who is the very incarnation of God, should not shine for them. (aiōn g165)
5 ৫ কারণ আমরা নিজেদেরকে প্রচার করছি না কিন্তু যীশু খ্রীষ্টকে প্রভু বলে প্রচার করছি এবং নিজেদেরকে যীশু খ্রীষ্টের জন্য তোমাদের দাস বলে প্রচার করছি।
(For it is not ourselves that we proclaim, but Christ Jesus, as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.)
6 ৬ কারণ সেই ঈশ্বর যিনি বললেন, অন্ধকার থেকে আলো প্রকাশ হবে এবং তিনি আমাদের হৃদয়ে আলো জ্বেলেছিলেন যেন তাঁর মহিমা বোঝার জন্য আলো প্রকাশ পায় আর এই মহিমা যীশু খ্রীষ্টের মুখমন্ডলে আছে।
Indeed, the same God who said ‘Out of darkness light shall shine,’ has shone in upon our hearts, so that we should bring out into the light the knowledge of the glory of God, seen in the face of Christ.
7 ৭ কিন্তু এই সম্পদ আমরা মাটির পাত্রে (আমাদের পার্থিব দেহ) রেখেছি, যেন লোকে বুঝতে পারে যে এই মহাশক্তি আমাদের থেকে নয় কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকেই এসেছে।
This treasure we have in these earthen vessels, that its all-prevailing power may be seen to come from God, and not to be our own.
Though hard pressed on every side, we are never hemmed in; through perplexed, never driven to despair;
though pursued, never abandoned; though struck down, never killed!
10 ১০ আমরা সবদিন আমাদের দেহে যীশুর মৃত্যু বয়ে নিয়ে চলেছি, যেন যীশুর জীবনও আমাদের শরীরে প্রকাশিত হয়।
We always bear on our bodies the marks of the death that Jesus died, so that the Life also of Jesus may be exhibited in our bodies.
11 ১১ আমরা জীবিত হলেও যীশুর জন্য সবদিন মৃত্যুমুখে তুলে দেওয়া হচ্ছে যেন আমাদের মানুষ শরীরে যীশুর জীবন প্রকাশিত হয়।
Indeed, we who still live are continually being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the Life also of Jesus may be exhibited in our mortal nature.
And so, while death is at work within us, Life is at work within you.
13 ১৩ আর আমাদের কাছে বিশ্বাসের সেই আত্মা আছে, যেরূপ পবিত্র শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে, “আমি বিশ্বাস করলাম, তাই কথা বললাম;” ঠিক সেই রকম আমরাও বিশ্বাস করছি তাই কথাও বলছি;
But, in the same spirit of faith as that expressed in the words — ‘I believed, and therefore I spoke,’ we, also believe, and therefore speak.
14 ১৪ কারণ আমরা জানি যিনি প্রভু যীশুকে জীবিত করে তুলেছেন, তিনি যীশুর সঙ্গে আমাদের জীবিত করে তুলবেন এবং তোমাদের সামনে হাজির করবেন।
For we know that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with him, and will bring us, with you, into his presence.
15 ১৫ কারণ সব কিছুই তোমাদের জন্য হয়েছে, যেন ঈশ্বরের যে অনুগ্রহ অনেক লোককে দেওয়া হয়েছে সেই অনুগ্রহ পাওয়ার জন্য এবং ঈশ্বরের প্রচুর গৌরবার্থে আরও বেশি করে ধন্যবাদ দেওয়া হয়।
For all this is for your sakes, that the loving-kindness of God, spreading from heart to heart, may cause yet more hearts to overflow with thanksgiving, to his glory.
16 ১৬ সুতরাং আমরা কখনো হতাশ হয়ে পড়ি না, যদিও আমাদের বাহ্যিক দেহটি নষ্ট হচ্ছে কিন্তু আমাদের অভ্যন্তরীক মানুষটি দিনের দিনের নতুন হচ্ছে।
Therefore, as I said, we do not lose heart. No, even though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
17 ১৭ ফলে আমরা এই অল্প দিনের র জন্য যে সামান্য কষ্টভোগ করছি তার জন্য আমরা চিরকাল ধরে ঈশ্বরের মহিমা পাব যেটা কখনো মাপা যায় না। (aiōnios g166)
The light burden of our momentary trouble is preparing for us, in measure transcending thought, a weight of imperishable glory; (aiōnios g166)
18 ১৮ কারণ আমরা যা দেখা যায় তা দেখছি না বরং তার দিকেই দেখছি যা দেখা যায় না। কারণ যা যা দেখা যায় তা অল্প দিনের র জন্য, কিন্তু যা দেখা যায় না তা চিরকালের জন্য স্থায়ী। (aiōnios g166)
