২য় করিন্থীয় 10

1 ১ আমি পৌল নিজে খ্রীষ্টের নম্রতা ও ভদ্রতার জন্য তোমাদের অনুরোধ করছি আমি নাকি তোমাদের উপস্থিতিতে নম্র ও ভদ্র থাকি, কিন্তু তোমাদের অনুপস্থিতিতে তোমাদের প্রতি কঠোর হই।

But I myself, Paul, entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of the Christ, who, as to appearance, [when present] [am] mean among you, but absent am bold towards you;

2 ২ আমি তোমাদের কাছে বিনতি করি যে, যখন আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত থাকি, তখন আত্মবিশ্বাসের সঙ্গে কঠোর হওয়ার আমার প্রয়োজন নেই, যেমন আমি মনে করেছিলাম যে আমাকে কঠোর হতে হবে, তখন আমি তাদের প্রতিরোধ করেছিলাম যারা মনে করে যে আমরা মাংসের বশে চলি।

but I beseech that present I may not be bold with the confidence with which I think to be daring towards some who think of us as walking according to flesh.

3 ৩ যদিও আমরা মাংসে চলি, আমরা শরীর অনুযায়ী যুদ্ধ করি না।

For walking in flesh, we do not war according to flesh.

4 ৪ আমরা যে সব অস্ত্রশস্ত্র দিয়ে যুদ্ধ করি সেটা মাংসিক নয়। তার পরিবর্তে তাদের যে ঐশ্বরিক ক্ষমতা আছে তার মাধ্যমে দুর্গসমূহ ধ্বংস করার জন্য ঈশ্বরের কাছে পরাক্রমী। আমরা সমস্ত বিতর্ক এবং,

For the arms of our warfare [are] not fleshly, but powerful according to God to [the] overthrow of strongholds;

5 ৫ ঈশ্বর-জ্ঞানের বিরুদ্ধে যে সব জিনিস মহিমান্বিত হয়ে মাথা তোলে তাদেরও আমরা ধ্বংস করি এবং আমরা সব মনের ভাবনাকে বন্দী করে খ্রীষ্টের প্রতি বাধ্য হয়েছি।

overthrowing reasonings and every high thing that lifts itself up against the knowledge of God, and leading captive every thought into the obedience of the Christ;

6 ৬ আর তোমাদের সম্পূর্ণ বাধ্য হওয়ার পর আমরা সমস্ত অবাধ্যতাকে উচিত শাস্তি দিতে প্রস্তুত আছি।

and having in readiness to avenge all disobedience when your obedience shall have been fulfilled.

7 ৭ সামনে যা আছে তোমরা তাই দেখছ। যদি কেউ যদি নিজের উপরে বিশ্বাস রেখে বলে যে সে খ্রীষ্টের লোক, তবে সে আবার নিজেই নিজের বিচার করে বুঝুক, সে যেমন, আমরাও তেমনি খ্রীষ্টের লোক,

Do ye look at what concerns appearance? If any one has confidence in himself that he is of Christ, let him think this again in himself, that even as he [is] of Christ, so also [are] we.

8 ৮ যদি আমি আমাদের ক্ষমতার সামান্য একটু বেশি অহঙ্কার দেখালেও আমি লজ্জা পাব না, প্রভু তোমাদের ধ্বংস করার জন্য নয় কিন্তু তোমাদের গঠন করার জন্য সেই ক্ষমতা দিয়েছেন।

For and if I should boast even somewhat more abundantly of our authority, which the Lord has given [to us] for building up and not for your overthrowing, I shall not be put to shame;

9 ৯ আমি তোমাদের এটা বোঝাতে চাইছি না যে আমি তোমাদের আমার চিঠির মাধ্যমে ভয় দেখাচ্ছি।

that I may not seem as if I was frightening you by letters:

10 ১০ কিছু লোক বলে, “পৌলের চিঠিগুলো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এবং শক্তিশালী, কিন্তু শরীরের দিক থেকে তিনি দুর্বল এবং তাঁর কথা শোনার উপযুক্ত নয়।”

because his letters, he says, [are] weighty and strong, but his presence in the body weak, and his speech naught.

11 ১১ এই রকম লোকেরা বুঝুক যে আমাদের অনুপস্থিতিতে চিঠি দিয়ে যা বলেছি, সেখানে গিয়েও একই কথা বলব।

Let such a one think this, that such as we are in word by letters [when] absent, such also present in deed.

12 ১২ এই ধরনের লোকদের সঙ্গে শ্রেণীভুক্ত বা তুলনা করার সাহস করি না, যারা তাদের প্রশংসা তারা নিজেরাই করে, কিন্তু তারা যখন নিজেদের সঙ্গে অন্যদের পরিমাপ করবে এবং নিজেদের প্রত্যেকের সঙ্গে তুলনা করবে।

For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves; but these, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are not intelligent.

13 ১৩ আমরা পরিমাণের অতিরিক্ত গর্ব করব না, কেবল ঈশ্বর আমাদের যে কাজ করতে দিয়েছেন এবং আমরা কেবল কাজ করব যেরকম তিনি আমাদের কাজ করতে বলেছেন; আমাদের কাজের পরিমাণের মধ্যে তোমরাও আছ।

Now we will not boast out of measure, but according to the measure of the rule which the God of measure has apportioned to us, to reach to you also.

14 ১৪ তা তোমাদের কাছে পৌঁছায় না, আমরা যে সীমা অতিক্রম করছি, এমন নয়, আমরা প্রথমে খ্রীষ্টের সুসমাচার নিয়ে তোমাদের কাছে গিয়েছিলাম।

For we do not, as not reaching to you, overstretch ourselves, (for we have come to you also in the glad tidings of the Christ; )

15 ১৫ ঈশ্বর অন্যদের যে কাজ দিয়েছেন তা নিয়ে আমরা অহঙ্কার করি না, যদি আমরা ঐ কাজ করি, তা সত্বেও, আমরা আশাকরি যে তোমরা ঈশ্বরকে বেশি বিশ্বাস করবে এবং এই ভাবে ঈশ্বর আমাদের কাজ করার জন্য আরো বড় জায়গা ভাগ করে দেবেন।

not boasting out of measure in other people's labours, but having hope, your faith increasing, to be enlarged amongst you, according to our rule, yet more abundantly

16 ১৬ আমরা এই আশাকরি, তোমরা যেখানে বাস কর তার থেকে দূরের লোকেদের কাছে সুসমাচার পৌঁছে দিতে পারব, আমরা আমাদের নিজেদের কাজের প্রশংসা করব না যেমন ঈশ্বরের অন্য দাসেরা করে, তাদের নিজের জায়গার মধ্যে তারা তাঁর প্রচার করে।

to announce the glad tidings to that [which is] beyond you, not to be boasting in another's rule of things made ready to hand.

17 ১৭ কিন্তু পবিত্র শাস্ত্রের কথায়, “যে অহঙ্কার করে, সে প্রভুকে নিয়েই অহঙ্কার করুক।”

But he that boasts, let him boast in the Lord.

18 ১৮ যখন একজন নিজের কাজের প্রশংসা করে, ঈশ্বর তার কাজের পুরষ্কার দেন না, তার পরিবর্তে, সে পুরষ্কার পায় ঈশ্বর যার প্রশংসা করেন।

For not he that commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.
