বংশাবলির দ্বিতীয় খণ্ড 29
1 ১ হিষ্কিয় পঁচিশ বছর বয়সে রাজা হয়ে রাজত্ব শুরু করেন এবং যিরূশালেমে ঊনত্রিশ বছর পর্যন্ত রাজত্ব করেছিলেন। তাঁর মায়ের নাম ছিল অবিয়া; তিনি ছিলেন সখরিয়ের মেয়ে।
And so Hezekiah began to reign when he was twenty-five years old. And he reigned for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.
And he did what was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, in accord with all that his father David had done.
In the first year and month of his reign, he opened the double doors of the house of the Lord, and he repaired them.
And he brought together the priests and Levites. And he gathered them in the wide eastern street.
5 ৫ তিনি তাদের বললেন এখন “লেবীয়েরা, আমার কথা শোন; তোমরা নিজেদের এবং তোমাদের নিজেদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর ঘরটি শুচি কর। এই পবিত্র জায়গা থেকে সমস্ত অশুচি জিনিস দূর করে দাও।
And he said to them: “Listen to me, O Levites, and be sanctified. Cleanse the house of the Lord, the God of your fathers, and take away every uncleanness from the sanctuary.
6 ৬ কারণ আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা সত্যকে অস্বীকার করেছেন এবং আমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তাঁরা সেই সব কাজ করেছেন এবং তাঁকে ত্যাগ করেছেন। সদাপ্রভুর বাসজায়গা থেকে তাঁরা মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়েছেন এবং তাঁর দিকে পিছন ফিরিয়েছেন।
Our fathers sinned and did evil in the sight of the Lord our God, abandoning him. They turned their faces away from the tabernacle of the Lord, and they presented their backs.
7 ৭ তাঁরা বারান্দার দরজাগুলোও বন্ধ করে দিয়েছেন এবং বাতিগুলো নিভিয়ে দিয়েছেন। এই পবিত্র জায়গায় তাঁরা ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে ধূপ জ্বালান নি কিম্বা কোনো হোম উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান করেন নি।
They closed up the doors which were in the portico, and they extinguished the lamps. And they did not burn incense, and they did not offer holocausts, in the sanctuary of the God of Israel.
8 ৮ সেই জন্য যিহূদা ও যিরূশালেমের উপর সদাপ্রভুর ক্রোধ নেমে এসেছে। সেই জন্য তোমরা নিজের চোখেই দেখতে পাচ্ছ যে, তিনি তাদের ভীষণ ভয়ের ও ঘৃণার পাত্র করেছেন; তাদের দেখে লোকেরা বিস্মিত হচ্ছে।
And so the fury of the Lord was stirred up against Judah and Jerusalem, and he handed them over to turmoil, and to destruction, and to hissing, just as you discern with your own eyes.
9 ৯ এই জন্য আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা খড়গ দ্বারা মারা পড়েছেন এবং আমাদের স্ত্রী, ছেলেরা ও মেয়েরা বন্দী হয়ে আছে।
Lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword. Our sons, and our daughters and wives have been led away as captives because of this wickedness.
10 ১০ এখন হৃদয় থেকে চাই ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সঙ্গে একটা চুক্তি করতে যাতে তাঁর ভয়ঙ্কর ক্রোধ আমাদের উপর থেকে দূরে চলে যায়।
Now therefore, it is pleasing to me that we should enter into a covenant with the Lord, the God of Israel. And he will turn away the fury of his indignation from us.
11 ১১ হে আমার সন্তানেরা, তোমরা এখন আর অলস হয়ে থেকো না, কারণ সদাপ্রভুর সামনে দাঁড়াতে এবং তাঁর পরিচারক হিসাবে তাঁর কাজ করতে ও ধূপ জ্বালাতে তিনি তোমাদেরই বেছে নিয়েছেন।”
My sons, do not choose to be negligent. The Lord has chosen you so that you would stand before him, and minister to him, and worship him, and burn incense to him.”
12 ১২ তখন সেই সব লেবীয়েরা উঠে কাজে লাগলেন: কহাতীয়দের মধ্য থেকে অমাসয়ের ছেলে মাহৎ ও অসরিয়ের ছেলে যোয়েল; মরারিরদের মধ্য থেকে অব্দির ছেলে কীশ এবং যিহলিলেলের ছেলে অসরিয়; গের্শোনীয়দের মধ্য থেকে সিম্মার ছেলে যোয়াহ ও যোয়াহের ছেলে এদন;
Therefore, the Levites rose up, Mahath, the son of Amasai, and Joel, the son of Azariah, from the sons of Kohath; then, from the sons of Merari, Kish, the son of Abdi, and Azariah, the son of Jehallelel; and from the sons of Gershon, Joah, the son of Zimmah, and Eden, the son of Joah;
and truly, from the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; also, from the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;
14 ১৪ হেমনের বংশধরদের মধ্য থেকে যিহূয়েল ও শিমিয়ি এবং যিদূথূনের বংশধরদের মধ্য থেকে শময়িয় ও উষীয়েল।
indeed also, from the sons of Heman, Jehuel and Shimei; then too, from the sons of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.
15 ১৫ তাঁরা তাঁদের লেবীয় ভাইদের একত্রে জড়ো করলেন, সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে নিজেদের পবিত্র করলেন। তারপর সদাপ্রভুর কথামত রাজার আদেশ অনুযায়ী তাঁরা সদাপ্রভুর ঘর শুচি করবার জন্য ভিতরে গেলেন।
And they gathered together their brothers. And they were sanctified. And they entered in accord with the command of the king and the order of the Lord, so that they might expiate the house of God.
16 ১৬ যাজকেরা সেখানে যে সব অশুচি জিনিস সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে পেলেন সেগুলো সবই সদাপ্রভুর ঘরের উঠানে বের করে নিয়ে আসলেন। পরে লেবীয়রা সেগুলো বয়ে নিয়ে কিদ্রোণ উপত্যকায় গেল।
And the priests, entering the temple of the Lord so that they might sanctify it, took every uncleanness, which they had found inside, out to the vestibule of the house of the Lord; and the Levites took it away and transported it outside, to the torrent Kidron.
17 ১৭ আর তাঁরা প্রথম মাসের প্রথম দিনের সদাপ্রভুর ঘর শুচি করতে শুরু করলেন এবং মাসের আট দিনের র দিন ঘরের বারান্দা পর্যন্ত আসলেন। আর আটদিনের র মধ্যে তাঁরা সদাপ্রভুর ঘরটি শুচি করলেন এবং প্রথম মাসের ষোল দিনের র দিন সেগুলি শেষ করলেন।
Now they began to cleanse on the first day of the first month. And on the eighth day of the same month, they entered the portico of the temple of the Lord. And then they expiated the temple over eight days. And on the sixteenth day of the same month, they finished what they had begun.
18 ১৮ তারপর তাঁরা রাজার বাড়িতে গিয়ে হিষ্কিয়ের কাছে বললেন, “আমরা সদাপ্রভুর সমস্ত ঘর হোম উৎসর্গের বেদী ও তার বাসন পত্র এবং দর্শন রুটি রাখবার টেবিল ও তার সব জিনিসপত্র সুদ্ধ সদাপ্রভুর ঘরটি শুচি করেছি।
Also, they entered to king Hezekiah, and they said to him: “We have sanctified the entire house of the Lord, and the altar of holocaust, and its vessels, indeed also the table of the presence, with all its vessels,
19 ১৯ সদাপ্রভুর প্রতি অবিশ্বস্ত হয়ে রাজা আহস তাঁর রাজত্বের দিন যে সব জিনিস বাদ দিয়েছিলেন সেগুলো আমরা আবার ঠিক করে শুচি করে নিয়েছি। সেগুলি এখন সদাপ্রভুর যজ্ঞবেদীর সামনে রয়েছে।”
and all the equipment of the temple, which king Ahaz, during his reign, had polluted after his transgression. And behold, these have all been set forth before the altar of the Lord.”
20 ২০ পরের দিন ভোরবেলায় রাজা হিষ্কিয় শহরের উঁচু পদের কর্মচারীদের জড়ো করলেন এবং তিনি সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে গেলেন।
And rising up at first light, king Hezekiah joined as one all the leaders of the city, and they ascended to the house of the Lord.
21 ২১ তাঁরা রাজ্যের জন্য, উপাসনা ঘরের জন্য ও যিহূদার লোকদের জন্য পাপের জন্য বলি উৎসর্গ হিসাবে সাতটা ষাঁড়, সাতটা ভেড়া, সাতটা ভেড়ার বাচ্চা ও সাতটা ছাগল নিয়ে আসলেন। আর পরে তিনি যাজকদের অর্থাৎ হারোণের বংশধরদের সদাপ্রভুর বেদির উপর হোম উৎসর্গ করবার জন্য আদেশ দিলেন।
And together they offered seven bulls and seven rams, seven lambs and seven he-goats, for sin, for the kingdom, for the Sanctuary, for Judah. And he spoke to the priests, the sons of Aaron, so that they would offer these upon the altar of the Lord.
22 ২২ সুতরাং যাজকেরা প্রথমে সেই ষাঁড়গুলো কেটে তাদের রক্ত নিয়ে বেদির গায়ে ছিটিয়ে দিলেন; তারপর ভেড়াগুলো ও শেষে ভেড়ার বাচ্চাগুলো বলি দিয়ে সেগুলোর রক্তও বেদির উপর ছিটিয়ে দিলেন।
And so they slaughtered the bulls. And the priests took up the blood, and they poured it upon the altar. Then they also slaughtered the rams, and they poured their blood upon the altar. And they immolated the lambs, and they poured the blood upon the altar.
23 ২৩ তারপর যাজকেরা পাপের জন্য উৎসর্গের উদ্দেশ্যে ছাগলগুলো রাজা ও সব জনগনের সামনে আনলেন; তাঁরা সেগুলোর মাথার উপর হাত রাখলেন।
They brought the he-goats for sin before the king and the entire multitude. And they laid their hands upon them.
24 ২৪ এর পরে যাজক সেই ছাগলগুলো বলি দিলেন এবং সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলীয়দের পাপ ঢাকা দেবার উদ্দেশ্যে বেদির উপরে সেই রক্ত দিয়ে পাপের জন্য উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান করলেন। সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলীয়দের জন্য হোম উৎসর্গ ও পাপের জন্য উৎসর্গ করবার আদেশ রাজাই দিয়েছিলেন।
And the priests immolated them, and they sprinkled their blood before the altar, for the expiation of all Israel. For certainly the king had instructed that the holocaust and the sin offering should be made on behalf of all Israel.
25 ২৫ আর তিনি রাজা দায়ূদ, তাঁর দর্শক গাদ এবং ভাববাদী নাথনের আদেশ অনুসারে রাজা হিষ্কিয় লেবীয়দের বললেন যেন তারা করতাল, বীণা ও নেবল নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর ঘরে রাখলেন। কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাঁর ভাববাদীদের মধ্য দিয়ে এই আদেশই দিয়েছিলেন।
Also, he situated the Levites in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, and psalteries, and harps, according to the disposition of king David, and of the seer Gad, and of the prophet Nathan. For indeed, this was the precept of the Lord, by the hand of his prophets.
And the Levites stood, holding the musical instruments of David, and the priests held the trumpets.
27 ২৭ তারপর হিষ্কিয় বেদির উপরে হোম উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠানের আদেশ দিলেন। আর উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান আরম্ভ হলে সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে গানও আরম্ভ হল আর তার সঙ্গে ইস্রায়েলের রাজা দায়ূদের বাজনা ও তূরী বাজানো হল।
And Hezekiah ordered that they should offer holocausts upon the altar. And when the holocausts were being offered, they began to sing praises to the Lord, and to sound the trumpets, and to play various musical instruments, which David, the king of Israel, had prepared.
28 ২৮ আর গায়কেরা গান করতে ও তূরী বাদকেরা তূরী বাজাতে থাকল এবং সব লোক মাটিতে উপুড় হয়ে সদাপ্রভুকে আরাধনা করলো। হোম উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান শেষ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত এই সবই চলতে থাকল।
Then the entire crowd was adoring, and the singers and those who were holding the trumpeters were exercising their office, until the holocaust was completed.
29 ২৯ পরে হোম উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান শেষ হলে রাজা এবং তাঁর সাথীরা সকলে হাঁটু পেতে সদাপ্রভুকে প্রণাম করলেন।
And when the oblation was finished, the king, and all who were with him, bowed down and adored.
30 ৩০ রাজা হিষ্কিয় ও তাঁর কর্মচারীরা দায়ূদের এবং দর্শক আসফের বাক্য দ্বারা গান দিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে প্রশংসা করবার জন্য লেবীয়দের আদেশ দিলেন। তখন তারা খুশী হয়ে প্রশংসা গান করল এবং তারা মাটিতে মাথা ঠেকিয়ে সদাপ্রভুকে প্রণাম করলো।
And Hezekiah and the rulers instructed the Levites to praise the Lord with the words of David, and of Asaph, the seer. And they praised him with great joy, and kneeling down, they adored.
31 ৩১ তার পর হিষ্কিয় উত্তর দিয়ে বললেন, “এখন আপনারা সদাপ্রভুর কাছে নিজেদের দিয়ে দিয়েছেন। এখানে আপনারা এসে সদাপ্রভুর ঘরে পশু বলি ও ধন্যবাদ উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠানের জিনিস আনুন।” তখন লোকেরা পশু বলি ও ধন্যবাদ উত্সর্গের এবং যাদের হৃদয় চাইল তারা হোম উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠানের জিনিসও আনল।
And now Hezekiah also added: “You have filled your hands for the Lord. Draw near, and offer victims and praises in the house of the Lord.” Therefore, the entire multitude offered victims and praises and holocausts, with devout intention.
32 ৩২ লোকেরা হোম উৎসর্গের জন্য সত্তরটা ষাঁড়, একশোটা ভেড়া ও দুইশোটা ভেড়ার বাচ্চা নিয়ে আসল। এই সব ছিল সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে যোগ্য হোমবলি।
Now the number of the holocausts that the multitude offered was seventy bulls, one hundred rams, two hundred lambs.
And they sanctified to the Lord six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.
34 ৩৪ কিন্তু যাজকদের সংখ্যা কম হওয়ায় তাঁরা সব হোম উৎসর্গের পশুর চামড়া ছাড়াতে পারলেন না; ফলে কাজ শেষ না হওয়া অবধি এবং অন্য যাজকেরা শুচি না হওয়া অবধি তাঁদের লেবীয় ভাইয়েরা তাঁদের কাজে সাহায্য করল, কারণ নিজেদের শুচি করবার জন্য যাজকদের থেকেও লেবীয়েরা আরও অধিক বিশ্বস্ত ছিল।
Truly, the priests were few; neither were they sufficient to remove the pelts from the holocausts. Therefore, the Levites, their brothers, also assisted them, until the work was completed, and the priests, who were of higher rank, were sanctified. For indeed, the Levites are sanctified with an easier ritual than the priests.
35 ৩৫ আর মঙ্গলের জন্য উৎসর্গের পশুর চর্বি পোড়ানো অনুষ্ঠানও হোম উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান এবং তার সঙ্গেকার নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান নিয়ে অনেকগুলো উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান হল। এই ভাবে সদাপ্রভুর ঘরের সেবার কাজ সুন্দর ভাবে করা হল।
Thus, there were very numerous holocausts, with the fat of the peace offerings and the libations of the holocausts. And the service of the house of the Lord was completed.
36 ৩৬ আর ঈশ্বর তাঁর লোকদের জন্য এই সব কাজ খুব তাড়াতাড়ি করেছিলেন বলে হিষ্কিয় ও তাঁর সবলোকেরা আনন্দ করলেন।
And Hezekiah and all the people were joyful because the ministry of the Lord was accomplished. For certainly, it had pleased them to do this suddenly.
