All the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.
2 ২ দ্বিতীয়বার রাজা অমৎসিয় তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে ঘুমিয়ে পড়লে উষিয় এলৎ নগরটি আবার তৈরী করলেন এবং যিহূদার অধীনে আনলেন।
He built Eilat, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
3 ৩ উষিয় ষোল বছর বয়সে রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেন এবং যিরূশালেমে বাহান্ন বছর রাজত্ব করেন; তাঁর মায়ের নাম যিখলিয়া, তিনি যিরূশালেমের মেয়ে।
Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah, of Jerusalem.
He did that which was right in the eyes of YHWH, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.
5 ৫ আর ঈশ্বরের দর্শক, বুদ্ধিমান যে সখরিয়ের উষিয়কে উপদেশ দিলেন জীবনকালে ঈশ্বরের খোঁজ করতেন; আর যতদিন তিনি সদাপ্রভুর খোঁজ করলেন, ততদিন ঈশ্বরও তাঁকে সফলতা দান করলেন।
He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the fear of God, and as long as he sought YHWH, God made him to prosper.
6 ৬ তিনি পলেষ্টীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করলেন এবং গাৎ, যব্নির ও অসদোদ প্রাচীর ভেঙে ফেললেন এবং অসদোদ এলাকায় এবং পলেষ্টীয়দের মধ্যে কতগুলি নগর তৈরী করলেন।
He went forth and warred against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians who lived in Gur Baal, and the Meunites.
8 ৮ অম্মোনীয়েরা উষিয়কে উপহার দিল এবং তাঁর সুনাম মিশরের সীমানা পর্যন্ত ছড়িয়ে পড়ল; কারণ তিনি খুব শক্তিশালী হয়ে উঠেছিলেন।
The Meunites gave tribute to Uzziah, and his name spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt; for he grew exceeding strong.
9 ৯ উষিয় যিরূশালেমের কোণের দরজায়, উপত্যকার দরজায় এবং প্রাচীরের কোণে উঁচু ঘর তৈরী করে সেগুলি শক্তিশালী করলেন।
Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate, and at the Valley Gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
10 ১০ আর তিনি মরুপ্রান্তে উঁচু ঘর তৈরী করলেন ও অনেক কূপ খুঁড়লেন, কারণ তাঁর অনেক পশুপাল ছিল, উপত্যকা ও সমভূমিতেও তাই করলেন এবং পর্বতে ও উর্বর ক্ষেতে তাঁর চাষীরা ও আঙ্গুর ক্ষেতের চাষীরা ছিল; কারণ তিনি কৃষিকাজ ভালবাসতেন।
He built towers in the wilderness, and dug out many cisterns, for he had many cattle; in the Shephelah and in the plain he had farmers, and vinedressers in the hills and in the fertile fields, for he loved the land.
11 ১১ আবার উষিয়ের দক্ষ সৈন্যদল ছিল; রাজার হনানীয় নামে একজন সেনাপতির পরিচালনার অধীনে লেখক যিয়ূয়েল ও শাসনকর্ত্তা মাসেয় হাতে লেখা সংখ্যা অনুসারে তারা দলে দলে যুদ্ধে করতে যেত।
Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men, who went out to war by bands, according to the number of their reckoning made by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.
The whole number of the heads of ancestral houses, even the mighty men of valor, was two thousand and six hundred.
13 ১৩ আর তাদের পরিচালনার অধীনে শক্তিশালী সৈন্যদল, শত্রুদের বিরুদ্ধে রাজাকে সাহায্য করবার জন্য দক্ষ যোদ্ধা ছিল তিন লক্ষ সাত হাজার পাঁচশো লোক ছিল।
Under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, who made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the army, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, and stones for slinging.
15 ১৫ আর যিরূশালেমে তিনি দক্ষতাপূর্ণ শিল্পীদের দ্বারা স্বপ্নের যন্ত্রপাতি তৈরী করে সেটা দিয়ে তীর ও বড় বড় পাথর ছুঁড়ে মারার জন্য দুর্গের পিছনে ও প্রাচীরের চূড়াতে তা স্থাপন করলেন। তাঁর সুনাম দূর দেশে ছড়িয়ে পড়ল, কারণ তিনি সাহায্য পেয়ে শক্তিশালী হয়ে উঠলেন।
He made in Jerusalem engines, invented by skillful men, to be on the towers and on the battlements, with which to shoot arrows and great stones. His name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, until he was strong.
16 ১৬ কিন্তু শক্তিশালী হয়ে উঠার পর তাঁর মনে গর্ব আসল, তাতে তাঁর পতন হল, আর তিনি তাঁর সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করলেন; কারণ তিনি ধূপবেদিতে ধূপ জ্বালাবার জন্য সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে ঢুকলেন।
But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly, and he trespassed against YHWH his God; for he went into YHWH's temple to burn incense on the altar of incense.
Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of YHWH, who were valiant men:
18 ১৮ তাঁরা উষিয় রাজার সামনে দাঁড়িয়ে তাঁকে বললেন, “হে উষিয়, সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে ধূপ জ্বালাবার অধিকার আপনার নেই, কিন্তু হারোণের সন্তানদের যে যাজকেরা ধূপ জ্বালাবার জন্য পবিত্র করা হয়েছে, তাদেরই অধিকার আছে; এই পবিত্র জায়গা থেকে আপনি বের হয়ে যান, কারণ আপনি পাপ করেছেন, এই বিষয়ে ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর থেকে আপনার গৌরব হবে না।”
and they resisted Uzziah the king, and said to him, "It isn't for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to YHWH, but for the priests the descendants of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary; for you have trespassed; neither shall it be for your honor from YHWH God."
19 ১৯ তখন উষিয় রেগে আগুন হয়ে গেলেন, আর তাঁর হাতে ধূপ জ্বালাবার জন্য একটা ধূপদানি ছিল; কিন্তু তিনি যাজকদের উপর প্রচন্ড রাগ করেছিলেন বলে সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে যাজকদের সামনে ধূপবেদির কাছে তাঁর কপালে কুষ্ঠরোগ দেখা দিল।
Then Uzziah was angry; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense; and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke forth in his forehead before the priests in the house of YHWH, beside the altar of incense.
20 ২০ তখন প্রধান যাজক অসরিয় এবং অন্যান্য সব যাজকেরা তাঁর দিকে তাকিয়ে তাঁর কপালে সেই কুষ্ঠরোগ দেখতে পেলেন; কাজেই তাঁরা তাড়াতাড়ি তাঁকে বের করে দিলেন, এমন কি, তিনি নিজেও তাড়াতাড়ি বেরিয়ে যেতে চাইলেন, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে আঘাত করেছিলেন।
Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked on him, and look, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out quickly from there; yes, himself hurried also to go out, because YHWH had struck him.
21 ২১ আর মৃত্যু পর্যন্ত রাজা উষিয় কুষ্ঠরোগী ছিলেন; কুষ্ঠ হওয়ার জন্য তিনি একটা আলাদা ঘরে থাকতেন, কারণ সদাপ্রভুর গৃহে যাওয়া থেকে তিনি বাদ পড়েছিলেন; তাতে তাঁর ছেলে যোথম রাজবাড়ির কর্তা হয়ে দেশের লোকেদের শাসন করতে লাগলেন।
Uzziah the king was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of YHWH: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.
Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, wrote.
23 ২৩ পরে উষিয় তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সাথে ঘুমিয়ে পড়লে, লোকেরা তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে রাজাদের কবর দেওয়ার জায়গা তাঁর কবর দিল, কারণ তারা বলল, “তাঁর কুষ্ঠরোগ হয়েছিল।” তারপর তাঁর জায়গায় তাঁর ছেলে যোথম রাজা হলেন।
So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, "He is a leper." Jotham his son reigned in his place.
