বংশাবলির দ্বিতীয় খণ্ড 21
1 ১ পরে যিহোশাফট তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে ঘুমিয়ে পড়লেন এবং দায়ূদ-নগরে তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে তাঁকে কবর দেওয়া হল। আর তাঁর ছেলে যিহোরাম তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা হলেন।
And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son became king in his stead.
2 ২ যিহোশাফটের ছেলে যিহোরামের মধ্যে তাঁর ভাইদের নাম ছিল অসরিয়, যিহীয়েল, সখরিয়, অসরিয়, মীখায়েল ও শফটিয়, এরা সবাই ছিল ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যিহোশাফটের ছেলে।
And he had brothers the sons of Jehoshaphat: 'Azaryah, and Jechiel, and Zecharyahu, and 'Azaryahu, and Michael, and Shephatyahu, all these being sons of Jehoshaphat the king of Israel.
3 ৩ আর তাদের বাবা তাদেরকে অনেক সম্পত্তি, অর্থাৎ রূপা, সোনা ও অনেক দামী জিনিস এবং যিহূদা দেশে প্রাচীরে ঘেরা গ্রাম নগরগুলি দান করেছিলেন, কিন্তু যিহোরাম বড় ছেলে বলে তাঁকে রাজ্য দিয়েছিলেন।
And their father gave them many gifts [consisting] of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fortified cities in Judah; but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he was the first-born.
4 ৪ যিহোরাম তাঁর বাবার রাজ্য অধীনে এনে নিজেকে শক্তিশালী করলেন; আর নিজের সমস্ত ভাইদের এবং ইস্রায়েলের কয়েকজন শাসনকর্তাকেও তরোয়াল দিয়ে হত্যা করলেন।
Now when Jehoram was risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he slew all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of Israel.
Thirty and two years was Jehoram old when he became king, and eight years did he reign in Jerusalem.
6 ৬ আহাবের বংশের লোকদের মতই তিনি ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের পথে চলতেন; কারণ তিনি আহাবের মেয়েকে বিয়ে করেছিলেন। ফলে সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা খারাপ তিনি তাই করতেন।
And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as had done the house of Achab; for the daughter of Achab had he for wife: and he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord.
7 ৭ তবুও সদাপ্রভু দায়ূদের সঙ্গে তাঁর করা নিয়মের জন্য এবং তাঁকে ও তাঁর সন্তানদের চিরকাল একটা প্রদীপ দেবেন বলে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিলেন, সেইজন্য তিনি দায়ূদের বংশকে ধ্বংস করতে চাইলেন না।
Yet would the Lord not destroy the house of David, on account of the covenant which he had made with David, and as he had said to give to him a government and to his sons at all times.
In his days Edom revolted from under the power of Judah, and they appointed a king over themselves.
9 ৯ কাজেই যিহোরাম তাঁর সেনাপতিদের ও সব রথ নিয়ে সেখানে গেলেন; আর রাতের বেলায় তিনি উঠে, যারা তাঁকে ঘেরাও করেছিল, সেই ইদোমীয়দের ও তাদের রথের সেনাপতিদের আঘাত করলেন।
Then did Jehoram go over with his princes, and all the chariots were with him; and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites who compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots.
10 ১০ এই ভাবে ইদোম আজও যিহূদার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহী হয়ে আছে; আর ঐ দিনের লিব্নাও তাঁর কর্তৃত্ব অস্বীকার করল, কারণ তিনি তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে ত্যাগ করেছিলেন।
Yet Edom revolted from under the power of Judah even until this day: then did Libnah revolt at the same time from under his power; because he had forsaken the Lord the God of his fathers.
11 ১১ আরও তিনি যিহূদার অনেক পর্বতে উঁচু জায়গা তৈরী করলেন এবং যিরূশালেমের অধিবাসীদের ব্যভিচার করালেন ও যিহূদাকে বিপথে চালালেন।
He also made high-places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go astray, and misled Judah.
12 ১২ পরে তাঁর কাছে এলিয় ভাববাদীর কাছ থেকে একটা লিপি আসল; “তোমার বাবা দায়ূদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘তুমি তোমার নিজের বাবা যিহোশাফটের পথে ও যিহূদার রাজা আসার পথে চলনি;
And there came unto him a writing from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus hath said the Lord the God of David thy father, Inasmuch as thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, and in the ways of Assa the king of Judah,
13 ১৩ কিন্তু ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের পথে চলেছ এবং আহাবের বংশের কাজ অনুসারে যিহূদাকে ও যিরূশালেমের লোকেদেরকে ব্যভিচার করিয়েছ; আরও তোমার চেয়ে ভাল যে তোমার বাবার বংশের ভাইদের মেরে ফেলেছ;
But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go astray, as the house of Achab hath caused [others] to go astray, and hast also slain thy brothers of thy father's house, who were better than thyself:
14 ১৪ তাই দেখ, সদাপ্রভু তোমার প্রজাদেরকে, তোমার সন্তানদের, তোমার স্ত্রীদেরকে ও তোমার সমস্ত সম্পত্তির উপর ভয়ঙ্কর আঘাতে আহত করবেন।
Behold, the Lord will inflict a great plague on thy people, and on thy children, and on thy wives, and on all thy possessions;
And thou shalt be [afflicted] with great diseases by a disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels pass out [from thee] by reason of the disease days upon days.
16 ১৬ পরে সদাপ্রভু যিহোরামের বিরুদ্ধে পলেষ্টীয়দের মন ও কূশীয়দের কাছে আরবীয়দের মন উত্তেজিত করে তুললেন
And the Lord stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that are alongside of the Cushim:
17 ১৭ এবং তারা যিহূদার বিরুদ্ধে এসে প্রাচীর ভেঙে রাজবাড়ীতে পাওয়া সব সম্পত্তি এবং তাঁর ছেলেদের ও তাঁর স্ত্রীদের নিয়ে গেল; ছোট ছেলে যিহোয়াহস ছাড়া তাঁর আর কোনো ছেলে বাকি থাকল না।
And they went up against Judah, and made an incursion into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and also his sons, and his wives; and there was not left unto him any son, save Jehoachaz, the youngest of his sons.
And after all this did the Lord afflict him in his bowels with a disease which was incurable.
19 ১৯ তাতে দ্বিতীয় বছরের শেষে সেই রোগের দরুন তাঁর অন্ত্র বের হয়ে আসল এবং তিনি খুব যন্ত্রণা পেয়ে মারা গেলেন। আর তাঁর প্রজারা তাঁর জন্য তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের নিয়ম অনুযায়ী আগুন জ্বালাল না।
And it came to pass, from days to days, and when the [fixed] time was expired, after two years, that his bowels passed out [from him] by reason of his disease: so he died of evil diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning for his fathers.
20 ২০ তিনি বত্রিশ বছর বয়সে রাজত্ব করা শুরু করেন এবং আট বছর যিরূশালেমে রাজত্ব করেন; তাঁর মৃত্যুতে কেউ দুঃখ প্রকাশ করে নি। আর লোকেরা দায়ূদ নগরে তাঁকে কবর দিল, কিন্তু রাজাদের কবরের জায়গা ছিল না।
Thirty and two years old was he when he became king, and eight years did he reign in Jerusalem, and departed without joy: and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
