Therefore, Jehoshaphat was wealthy and very famous, and he was joined by affinity to Ahab.
2 ২ কয়েক বছর পরে তিনি শমরিয়াতে আহাবের কাছে গেলেন; আর আহাব তাঁর জন্য ও তাঁর সঙ্গী লোকদের জন্য অনেক ভেড়া ও বলদ মারলেন এবং রামোৎ-গিলিয়দে যেতে তাঁকে প্ররোচনা করলেন।
And after some years, he descended to him in Samaria. And upon his arrival, Ahab slaughtered very many sheep and oxen, for him and for the people who had arrived with him. And he persuaded him that he should ascend against Ramoth Gilead.
3 ৩ আর ইস্রায়েলের রাজা আহাব যিহূদার রাজা যিহোশাফটকে বললেন, “আপনি কি রামোৎ-গিলিয়দে আমার সঙ্গে যাবেন?” তিনি উত্তরে বললেন, “আমি ও আপনি এবং আমার লোক ও আপনার লোক, সবাই এক, আমরা আপনার সঙ্গে যুদ্ধে যোগ দেব।”
And Ahab, the king of Israel, said to Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, “Come with me to Ramoth Gilead.” And he answered him: “As I am, so also are you. As your people are, so also are my people. And we will be with you in war.”
And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Consult, I beg you, the word of the Lord for the present circumstances.”
5 ৫ তাতে ইস্রায়েলের রাজা ভাববাদীদেরকে, চারশো জনকে, এক সাথে জড়ো করে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আমরা রামোৎ-গিলিয়দের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে যাব, না আমি থেমে যাব?” তখন তারা বলল, “যান, ঈশ্বর ওটা মহারাজের হাতেই তুলে দেবেন।”
And so the king of Israel gathered together four hundred men of the prophets, and he said to them: “Should we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or should we be quieted?” But they said, “Ascend, and God will deliver into the hand of the king.”
6 ৬ কিন্তু যিহোশাফট বললেন, “এদের ছাড়া সদাপ্রভুর এমন কোনো ভাববাদী কি এখানে নেই যে, আমরা তার কাছেই খোঁজ করতে পারি?”
And Jehoshaphat said, “Is there not a prophet of the Lord here, so that we may inquire of him as well?”
7 ৭ ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যিহোশাফটকে বললেন, “আমরা যার মধ্য দিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর খোঁজ করতে পারি, এমন আর একজন লোক আছে, কিন্তু আমি তাকে ঘৃণা করি, কারণ সে আমার সম্বন্ধে কখনও মঙ্গলের নয়, সব দিন অমঙ্গলের কথাই বলে; সে ব্যক্তি যিম্লের ছেলে মীখায়।” যিহোশাফট বললেন, “মহারাজ, এমন কথা বলবেন না।”
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat: “There is one man, from whom we would be able to ask the will of the Lord. But I hate him, for he never prophesies good to me, but at all times evil. And it is Micaiah, the son of Imlah.” And Jehoshaphat said, “You should not speak in this manner, O king.”
8 ৮ তখন ইস্রায়েলের রাজা একজন কর্মচারীকে ডেকে আদেশ দিয়ে বললেন, “যিম্লের ছেলে মীখায়কে তাড়াতাড়ি নিয়ে এস।”
Therefore, the king of Israel called one of the eunuchs, and said to him: “Quickly, summon Micaiah, the son of Imlah.”
9 ৯ সেই দিন ইস্রায়েলের রাজা ও যিহূদার রাজা যিহোশাফট নিজের নিজের রাজপোশাক পরে শমরিয়া শহরের দরজার কাছে খোলা জায়গায় তাঁদের সিংহাসনের উপরে বসে ছিলেন এবং তাঁদের সামনে ভাববাদীরা সবাই ভাববাণী করছিলেন।
Now the king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, were both sitting upon their thrones, clothed in royal vestments. And they were sitting in an open area, beside the gate of Samaria. And all the prophets were prophesying before them.
10 ১০ আর কনানার ছেলে সিদিকিয় লোহার শিং তৈরী করে বলল, “সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলছেন যে, ‘এটা দিয়েই আপনি অরামের ধ্বংসের দিন পর্যন্ত গুঁতাতে থাকবেন।’”
Truly, Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, made for himself horns of iron, and he said: “Thus says the Lord: With these, you shall threaten Syria, until you crush it.”
11 ১১ আর ভাববাদীরা সবাই একই রকম ভাববাণী করে বলল, “আপনি রামোৎ-গিলিয়দ আক্রমণ করুন, তা জয় করে নিন, কারণ সদাপ্রভু সেটা মহারাজের হাতে তুলে দেবেন।”
And all the prophets prophesied similarly, and they said: “Ascend against Ramoth Gilead, and you shall prosper, and the Lord will deliver them into the hand of the king.”
12 ১২ আর যে দূত মীখায়কে ডাকতে গিয়েছিল সে তাঁকে বলল, “দেখুন, সব ভাববাদীই একবাক্যে রাজার সফলতার কথা বলছে; তাই অনুরোধ করি, আপনার কথাও যেন তাঁদের কথার মতই হয়, আপনি মঙ্গলের কথা বলুন।”
Then the messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him: “Lo, the words of all the prophets, with one mouth, announce good to the king. Therefore, I ask you that you not dissent from them in your word, and that you speak prosperity.”
And Micaiah responded to him, “As the Lord lives, whatever my God will say to me, the same shall I speak.”
14 ১৪ পরে তিনি রাজার কাছে এলে রাজা তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “মীখায়, আমরা কি রামোৎ-গিলিয়দের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে যাব, নাকি থেমে যাব?” তিনি বললেন, “আপনারা যান, জয়লাভ করুন, সেখানকার লোকদের আপনাদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হবে।”
Therefore, he went to the king. And the king said to him, “Micaiah, should we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or should we be quieted?” And he responded to him: “Ascend. For everything will come to prosperity, and the enemies will be delivered into your hands.”
15 ১৫ রাজা তাঁকে বললেন, “তুমি সদাপ্রভুর নামে সত্যি কথা ছাড়া আর কিছু বলবে না, কতবার আমি তোমাকে এই শপথ করাবো?”
And the king said, “Again and again, I bind you by an oath, so that you will not speak to me except what is true in the name of the Lord!”
16 ১৬ তখন তিনি উত্তরে বললেন, “আমি সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলকে রাখালহীন ভেড়ার মত পাহাড়ের উপরে ছড়িয়ে পড়তে দেখলাম এবং সদাপ্রভু বললেন, ‘এদের কোনো মনিব নেই; তারা সবাই শান্তিতে নিজের বাড়িতে ফিরে যাক।’”
Then he said: “I saw all of Israel scattered amid the mountains, like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord said: ‘These have no masters. Let each one return in peace to his own house.’”
17 ১৭ তখন ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যিহোশাফট বললেন, “আমি কি আপনাকে আগেই বলি নি যে, এই ব্যক্তি আমার সম্বন্ধে অমঙ্গল ছাড়া মঙ্গলের কথা বলে না?”
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat: “Did I not tell you that this one would not prophesy to me anything good, but only what is evil?”
18 ১৮ আর মীখায় বললেন, “তাই আপনারা সদাপ্রভুর কথা শুনুন; আমি দেখলাম, সদাপ্রভু তাঁর সিংহাসনে বসে আছেন, আর তাঁর ডান ও বাঁ দিকে সমস্ত বাহিনী দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।
Then he said: “Therefore, listen to the word of the Lord. I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and the entire army of heaven was standing beside him, on the right and on the left.
19 ১৯ তখন সদাপ্রভু বললেন, ‘ইস্রায়েলের রাজা আহাব যেন রামোৎ-গিলিয়দ আক্রমণ করে সেখানে মারা যায়, এই জন্য কে তাকে মুগ্ধ করবে?’ তখন এক একজন এক এক রকম কথা বলল।
And the Lord said: ‘Who will deceive Ahab, the king of Israel, so that he may ascend and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ And when one spoke in one way, and another in another way,
there came forward a spirit, and he stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will deceive him.’ And the Lord said to him, ‘In what way will you deceive him?’
21 ২১ সদাপ্রভু জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, ‘কেমন করে করবে?’ সে বলল, ‘আমি গিয়ে তার সব ভাববাদীদের মুখে মিথ্যা বলবার আত্মা হব।’ সদাপ্রভু বললেন, ‘তুমিই তাকে মুগ্ধ করতে সফল হবে; তুমি গিয়ে তাই কর।’
And he responded, ‘I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said: ‘You will deceive and prevail. Go forth and do so.’
22 ২২ এইজন্যই সদাপ্রভু এখন তাঁর এই ভাববাদীদের মুখে মিথ্যা বলবার আত্মা দিয়েছেন; আর সদাপ্রভু আপনার অমঙ্গলের কথা বলেছেন।”
Therefore now, behold: the Lord gave a lying spirit to the mouth of all your prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil about you.”
23 ২৩ তখন কনানার ছেলে সিদিকিয়র কাছে গিয়ে মীখায়ের গালে চড় মেরে বলল, “সদাপ্রভুর আত্মা তোর সঙ্গে কথা বলবার জন্য আমার কাছ থেকে কোনো পথে গিয়েছিলেন?”
Then Zedekiah, the son of Chenaanah, approached, and he struck Micaiah on the jaw, and he said: “In what way did the Spirit of the Lord depart from me, so that he would speak to you?”
And Micaiah said: “You yourself shall see it, in that day, when you will enter a room within a room, so that you may be hidden.”
25 ২৫ পরে ইস্রায়েলের রাজা বললেন, “মীখায়কে ধরে পুনরায় নগরের শাসনকর্ত্তা আমোন ও রাজপুত্র যোয়াশের কাছে নিয়ে যাও।
Then the king of Israel instructed, saying: “Take Micaiah, and lead him to Amon, the leader of the city, and to Joash, the son of Amalech.
26 ২৬ আর বল, রাজা বলেছেন, ‘একে জেলে আটকে রাখ এবং যতক্ষণ আমি নিরাপদে ফিরে না আসি, ততক্ষণ একে খাওয়ার জন্য অল্প জল ও অল্প খাবার দিও’।”
And you shall say: ‘Thus says the king: Send this man to prison, and give to him a little bread and a little water, until I return in peace.’”
27 ২৭ মীখায় বললেন, “যদি আপনি কোনো ভাবে নিরাপদে ফিরে আসেন, তবে জানবেন সদাপ্রভু আমার মধ্য দিয়ে কথা বলেন নি।” তারপর তিনি আবার বললেন, “লোকেরা, তোমরা সবাই আমার কথাটা শুনে রাখ।”
And Micaiah said, “If you will have returned in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said, “May all the people listen.”
And so, the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, ascended against Ramoth Gilead.
29 ২৯ আর ইস্রায়েলের রাজা যিহোশাফটকে বললেন, “আমি ছদ্দবেশে যুদ্ধে যোগ দেব, আপনি আপনার রাজপোশাকই পরুন।” পরে ইস্রায়েলের রাজা ছদ্মবেশে যুদ্ধ করতে গেলেন।
And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat: “I will change my clothing, and in this way I will go into battle. But you should be clothed in your own garments.” And the king of Israel, having changed his clothing, went to war.
30 ৩০ অরামের রাজা তাঁর রথগুলির সেনাপতিদের এই আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন, “তোমরা একমাত্র ইস্রায়েলের রাজা ছাড়া ছোট কি বড় আর কারও সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করবে না।”
Now the king of Syria had instructed the commanders of his horsemen, saying, “You shall not fight against the least or the greatest, but only against the king of Israel.”
31 ৩১ পরে রথের সেনাপতিরা যিহোশাফটকে দেখে তিনি নিশ্চয়ই ইস্রায়েলের রাজা, এই বলে তাঁর সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করার জন্য ঘুরে এলেন; তখন যিহোশাফট চেঁচিয়ে উঠলেন, আর সদাপ্রভু তাঁকে সাহায্য করলেন এবং ঈশ্বর তার কাছ থেকে চলে গেল।
And so, when the leaders of the horsemen had seen Jehoshaphat, they said, “This one is the king of Israel.” And while fighting, they surrounded him. But he cried out to the Lord, and he assisted him, and he turned them away from him.
32 ৩২ ফলে সেনাপতিরা যখন দেখলেন, তিনি ইস্রায়েলের রাজা নন, তখন তাঁরা আর তাঁর পিছনে তাড়া না করে ফিরে আসলেন।
For when the commanders of the horsemen had seen that he was not the king of Israel, they left him.
33 ৩৩ কিন্তু একজন লোক লক্ষ্য স্থির না করেই তার ধনুকে টান দিয়ে ইস্রায়েলের রাজার বুক ও পেটের বর্মের মাঝামাঝি জায়গায় আঘাত করল; তাতে তিনি তাঁর রথচালককে বললেন, “রথ ঘুরিয়ে সৈন্যদলের মধ্যে থেকে আমাকে নিয়ে যাও, আমি খুব আঘাত পেয়েছি।”
Then it happened that one of the people shot an arrow indiscriminately, and it struck the king of Israel between the neck and the shoulder. And so he said to his chariot driver: “Turn your hand, and lead me away from the battle line. For I have been wounded.”
34 ৩৪ সেই দিন ভীষণ যুদ্ধ হল; আর ইস্রায়েলের রাজা অরামীয়দের মুখোমুখি সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত রথের মধ্যে বসে থাকলেন, কিন্তু সূর্য্য ডুবে যাবার দিন তিনি মারা গেলেন।
And the fight ended on that day. But the king of Israel was standing in his chariot facing the Syrians, even until evening. And he died when the sun set.
