১ম থিষলনীকীয় 1

1 ১ পিতা ঈশ্বরে ও প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টে বিশ্বাসী থিষলনীকীয় শহরের মণ্ডলীর নিকটে পৌলের পত্র, সীল ও তীমথিয়র অভিবাদন। অনুগ্রহ ও শান্তি তোমাদের প্রতি আসুক।

Pavl, and Siluanus, and Timotheus, vnto the Church of the Thessalonians, which is in God the Father, and in the Lord Iesus Christ: Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.

2 ২ আমরা প্রার্থনার দিন তোমাদের নাম উল্লেখ করে তোমাদের সকলের জন্য সর্বদা ঈশ্বরের ধন্যবাদ করে থাকি;

We giue God thankes alwayes for you all, making mention of you in our prayers

3 ৩ আমরা তোমাদের বিশ্বাসের কাজ, প্রেমের পরিশ্রম ও আমাদের প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের উপর আশার ধৈর্য্যে আমাদের পিতা ঈশ্বরের সাক্ষাৎে সবদিন মনে করে থাকি;

Without ceasing, remembring your effectuall faith, and diligent loue, and the patience of your hope in our Lord Iesus Christ, in the sight of God euen our Father,

4 ৪ কারণ, হে ভাইয়েরা, ঈশ্বরের প্রিয়তমেরা (প্রেমপাত্রগণ), আমরা জানি তোমরা মনোনীত লোক,

Knowing, beloued brethren, that ye are elect of God.

5 ৫ কারণ আমাদের সুসমাচার তোমাদের কাছে শুধুমাত্র কথায় নয়, কিন্তু শক্তিতে, পবিত্র আত্মায় ও বেশিমাত্রায় নিশ্চয়তায় উপস্থিত হয়েছিল; তোমরা তো জান, আমরা তোমাদের কাছে, তোমাদের জন্য কি রকম লোক হয়েছিলাম।

For our Gospell was not vnto you in worde only, but also in power, and in the holy Ghost, and in much assurance, as ye know after what maner we were among you for your sakes.

6 ৬ আর তোমরা বহু কষ্টের মধ্যে পবিত্র আত্মার আনন্দে বাক্যটি গ্রহণ করে আমাদের এবং প্রভুর অনুকারী হয়েছ;

And ye became followers of vs, and of the Lord, and receiued the worde in much affliction, with ioy of the holy Ghost,

7 ৭ এই ভাবে মাকিদনিয়া ও আখায়াস্থ সব বিশ্বাসী লোকের কাছে উদাহরণ সরূপ হয়েছ;

So that ye were as ensamples to all that beleeue in Macedonia and in Achaia.

8 ৮ কারণ তোমাদের হতে প্রভুর বাক্য উচ্চারিত হয়েছে, কেবল মাকিদনিয়াতে ও আখায়াতে নয়, কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের উপর তোমাদের যে বিশ্বাস, সেই বিষয় সব জায়গায় ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে; এজন্য আমাদের কিছু বলবার দরকার নেই।

For from you sounded out the worde of the Lord, not in Macedonia and in Achaia only: but your faith also which is toward God, spred abroad in all quarters, that we neede not to speake any thing.

9 ৯ কারণ তারা নিজেরা আমাদের বিষয়ে এই কথা প্রচার করে থাকে যে, তোমাদের কাছে আমরা কিভাবে গৃহীত হয়েছিলাম, আর তোমরা কিভাবে প্রতিমাগণ হতে ঈশ্বরের দিকে ফিরে এসেছ, যেন জীবন্ত ও সত্য ঈশ্বরের সেবা করতে পার।

For they themselues shew of vs what maner of entring in we had vnto you, and how ye turned to God from idoles, to serue the liuing and true God,

10 ১০ এবং যাকে তিনি মৃতদের মধ্য থাকে উঠিয়েছেন, যিনি আগামী ক্রোধ থেকে আমাদের উদ্ধারকর্তা, যেন স্বর্গ হতে তাঁর সেই পুত্রের অর্থাৎ যীশুর আসার অপেক্ষা করতে পার।

And to looke for his sonne from heauen, whome he raised from the dead, euen Iesus which deliuereth vs from that wrath to come.
