শমূয়েলের প্রথম বই 12

1 ১ পরে শমূয়েল সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলকে বললেন, “দেখ, তোমরা আমাকে যা যা বললে, আমি তোমাদের সেই সব কথা শুনে তোমাদের উপরে এক জনকে রাজা করলাম৷

Samuel then said vnto all Israel, Behold, I haue hearkened vnto your voyce in all that yee sayde vnto mee, and haue appoynted a King ouer you.

2 ২ এখন দেখ, রাজা তোমাদের সামনে যাতায়াত করছেন; কিন্তু আমার বয়স হয়েছে ও চুল সাদা হয়েছে; আর দেখ, আমার ছেলেরা তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছে এবং আমি ছেলেবেলা থেকে আজ পর্যন্ত তোমাদের সামনে যাতায়াত করে আসছি৷

Now therefore behold, your King walketh before you, and I am old and graie headed, and beholde, my sonnes are with you: and I haue walked before you from my childehood vnto this day.

3 ৩ আমি এই জায়গায় আছি; তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর সামনে এবং তাঁর অভিষিক্ত ব্যক্তির সামনে আমার বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষ্য দিয়ে বল দেখি, আমি কার গরু নিয়েছি? কার গাধা নিয়েছি? কাকে তাড়না করেছি? কার উপরেই বা অত্যাচার করেছি? কিংবা নিজের চোখ অন্ধ করার জন্য ঘুষ নিয়েছি? আমি তোমাদের তা ফিরিয়ে দেব৷”

Beholde, here I am: beare recorde of me before the Lord and before his Anointed. Whose oxe haue I taken? or whose asse haue I taken? or whome haue I done wrong to? or whome haue I hurt? or of whose hande haue I receiued any bribe, to blinde mine eyes therewith, and I will restore it you?

4 ৪ তারা বলল, “আপনি আমাদের প্রতি তাড়না করেননি, আমাদের উপরে অত্যাচার করেননি, কার হাত থেকে কিছু নেন নি৷”

Then they sayde, Thou hast done vs no wrong, nor hast hurt vs, neither hast thou taken ought of any mans hand.

5 ৫ তিনি তাদেরকে বললেন, “তোমরা আমার হাতে কোনো জিনিস পাওনি, এ বিষয়ে আজ তোমাদের বিপক্ষে সদাপ্রভু সাক্ষী এবং তাঁর অভিষিক্ত ব্যক্তি সাক্ষী৷” তারা উত্তর দিল, “তিনি সাক্ষী৷”

And he saide vnto them, The Lord is witnesse against you, and his Anointed is witnesse this day, that yee haue founde nought in mine handes. And they answered, He is witnesse.

6 ৬ পরে শমূয়েল লোকদেরকে বললেন, “সদাপ্রভুই মোশি ও হারোণকে উত্পন্ন করেছিলেন এবং তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে (পিতা) মিশর দেশ থেকে বের করে এনেছেন৷

Then Samuel sayde vnto the people, It is the Lord that made Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt.

7 ৭ তোমরা এখন দাড়াও; তোমাদের প্রতি ও তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের প্রতি সদাপ্রভু যে সব ভালো কাজ করেছেন, সেই বিষয়ে আমি সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তোমাদের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করব৷

Nowe therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the Lord according to all the righteousnesse of the Lord, which he shewed to you and to your fathers.

8 ৮ যাকোব মিশরে যাওয়ার পর যখন তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা সদাপ্রভুর কাছে কেঁদেছিল, তখন সদাপ্রভু মোশি ও হারোণকে পাঠান; আর তাঁরা মিশর থেকে তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদেরকে বের করে আনলেন এবং এই জায়গায় তাদেরকে বাস করালেন৷

After that Iaakob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried vnto the Lord, then the Lord sent Moses and Aaron which brought your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.

9 ৯ কিন্তু লোকেরা নিজেদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুকে ভুলে গেল, আর তিনি হাৎসোরের (বাল দেবের স্ত্রী) সেনাপতি সীষরার হাতে, পলেষ্টীয়দের হাতে ও মোয়াবরাজের হাতে তাদেরকে বিক্রয় করলেন এবং এরা তাদের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করল৷”

And when they forgate the Lord their God, he solde them into the hand of Sisera captaine of the hoste of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistims, and into the hande of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

10 ১০ তখন তারা সদাপ্রভুর কাছে কেঁদে বলল, “আমরা পাপ করেছি, আমরা সদাপ্রভুকে ত্যাগ করে বালদেবতাদের ও অস্টারোৎ দেবীদের সেবা করেছি; কিন্তু এখন তুমি শত্রুদের হাত থেকে আমাদের উদ্ধার কর, আমরা তোমার সেবা করব৷

And they cried vnto the Lord, and saide, We haue sinned, because we haue forsaken the Lord, and haue serued Baalim and Ashtaroth. Nowe therefore deliuer vs out of the handes of our enemies, and we will serue thee.

11 ১১ পরে সদাপ্রভু যিরুব্বাল (গিদিয়ন), বদান, যিপ্তহ ও শমূয়েলকে পাঠিয়ে তোমাদের চারদিকের শত্রুদের হাত থেকে তোমাদের উদ্ধার করলেন; তাহাতে তোমরা নির্ভয়ে বাস করলে৷

Therefore the Lord sent Ierubbaal and Bedan and Iphtaph, and Samuel, and deliuered you out of the handes of your enemies on euery side, and yee dwelled safe.

12 ১২ পরে যখন তোমরা দেখলে অম্মোন-সন্তানদের রাজা নাহশ তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে বেরিয়ে আসছে, তখন, তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের রাজা থাকতেও তোমরা আমাকে বললে, না, আমাদের উপরে একজন রাজা রাজত্ব করুন৷

Notwithstanding when you sawe, that Nahash the King of the children of Ammon came against you, ye sayde vnto me, No, but a King shall reigne ouer vs: when yet the Lord your God was your King.

13 ১৩ অতএব এই দেখ, সেই রাজা, যাঁকে তোমরা মনোনীত করেছ ও চেয়েছ; দেখ, সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের উপরে একজন রাজা নিযুক্ত করেছেন৷

Nowe therefore beholde the King whome yee haue chosen, and whome yee haue desired: loe therefore, the Lord hath set a King ouer you.

14 ১৪ তোমরা সদাপ্রভুকে ভয় কর, তাঁর সেবা কর ও তাঁর কথায় কান দাও এবং সদাপ্রভুর আদেশের বিরুদ্ধে যেও না, আর তোমরা ও তোমাদের উপরে ভারপ্রাপ্ত রাজা, উভয়েই যদি নিজের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর অনুসারী হও তবে ভালো৷

If ye wil feare the Lord and serue him, and heare his voyce, and not disobey the worde of the Lord, both yee, and the King that reigneth ouer you, shall follow the Lord your God.

15 ১৫ কিন্তু তোমরা যদি সদাপ্রভুর আওয়াজে কান না দাও, তবে সদাপ্রভুর হাত যেমন তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের বিরুদ্ধ ছিল, তেমনি তোমাদেরও বিরুদ্ধ হবে৷

But if yee will not obey the voyce of the Lord, but disobey the Lordes mouth, then shall the hand of the Lord be vpon you, and on your fathers.

16 ১৬ অতএব তোমরা দাড়াও; সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের সামনে যে মহৎ কাজ করবেন, তা দেখ৷

Nowe also stande and see this great thing which the Lord will doe before your eyes.

17 ১৭ আজ কি গম কাটার দিন নয়? আমি সদাপ্রভুকে ডাকব, যেন তিনি মেঘ গর্জন ও বৃষ্টি দেন; তাতে তোমরা জানবে ও বুঝবে যে, তোমরা নিজেদের জন্য রাজা চেয়ে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে খুব খারাপ করেছ৷”

Is it not nowe wheat haruest? I wil call vnto the Lord, and he shall send thunder and raine, that yee may perceiue and see, howe that your wickednesse is great, which ye haue done in the sight of the Lord in asking you a King.

18 ১৮ তখন শমূয়েল সদাপ্রভুকে ডাকলে সদাপ্রভু ঐ দিনের মেঘ গর্জন ও বৃষ্টি দিলেন; তাতে সব লোক সদাপ্রভুর থেকে ও শমূয়েলের থেকে খুব ভীত হল৷

Then Samuel called vnto the Lord, and the Lord sent thunder and raine the same day: and all the people feared the Lord and Samuel exceedingly.

19 ১৯ আর সব লোক শমূয়েলকে বলল, “আমরা যেন না মরি, এই জন্য আপনি নিজের দাসদের জন্য আপনার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করুন; কারণ আমরা আমাদের সব পাপের উপরে এই খারাপ কাজ করেছি যে, আমাদের জন্য রাজা চেয়েছি৷”

And all the people said vnto Samuel, Pray for thy seruaunts vnto the Lord thy God, that we die not: for we haue sinned in asking vs a King, beside all our other sinnes.

20 ২০ পরে শমূয়েল লোকদেরকে বললেন, “ভয় করো না; তোমরা এই মন্দ কাজ করেছ ঠিকই, কিন্তু কোনো মতে সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে সরে যেও না, সমস্ত হৃদয় দিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর সেবা কর৷

And Samuel said vnto the people, Feare not. (ye haue indeede done all this wickednesse, yet depart not from following the Lord, but serue the Lord with all your heart,

21 ২১ সরে যেও না, গেলে সেই সব অবস্তুর অনুগামী হবে, যারা অবস্তু বলে উপকার ও উদ্ধার করতে পারে না৷

Neither turne yee backe: for that shoulde be after vaine things which cannot profite you, nor deliuer you, for they are but vanitie)

22 ২২ কারণ সদাপ্রভু নিজের মহানামের গুনে নিজের প্রজাদেরকে ত্যাগ করবেন না; কারণ তোমাদেরকে নিজের প্রজা করতে সদাপ্রভুর ইচ্ছা হয়েছে৷

For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great Names sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.

23 ২৩ আর আমিই যে তোমাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করতে বিরত হয়ে সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করব, তা দূরে থাক; আমি তোমাদেরকে ভালো ও সরল পথের শিক্ষা দেব;

Moreouer God forbid, that I should sinne against the Lord, and cease praying for you, but I will shewe you the good and right way.

24 ২৪ তোমরা শুধুমাত্র সদাপ্রভুকে ভয় কর ও সমস্ত হৃদয় দিয়ে সত্যে তাঁর সেবা কর; কারণ দেখ, তিনি তোমাদের জন্য কেমন মহান কাজ করলেন৷

Therefore feare you the Lord, and serue him in the trueth with all your hearts, and consider howe great things he hath done for you.

25 ২৫ কিন্তু তোমরা যদি খারাপ ব্যবহার কর, তবে তোমরা ও তোমাদের রাজা উভয়েই বিনষ্ট হবে৷”

But if ye doe wickedly, ye shall perish, both yee, and your King.
