1 ১ পরে দায়ূদ পলেষ্টীয়দের আঘাত করে তাদের নিজের অধীনে আনলেন। তিনি পলেষ্টীয়দের হাত থেকে গাৎ ও তার আশেপাশের গ্রামগুলো দখল করে নিলেন।

After this it happened, that David struck the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 ২ আর তিনি মোয়াবীয়দেরও আঘাত করলেন। তাতে মোয়াবীয়রা দায়ূদের দাস হল এবং উপঢৌকন দিতে লাগলো।

He struck Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.

3 ৩ পরে সোবার রাজা হদরেষর যখন ইউফ্রেটিস নদী বরাবর তাঁর জায়গাগুলোতে আবার তাঁর কর্তৃত্ব স্থাপন করতে গেলেন তখন দায়ূদ তাঁর সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করতে হমাৎ পর্যন্ত গেলেন।

David struck Hadadezer king of Zobah to Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Perath.

4 ৪ দায়ূদ তাঁর এক হাজার রথ, সাত হাজার অশ্বারোহী এবং কুড়ি হাজার পদাতিক সৈন্য আটক করলেন। তাদের একশোটা রথের ঘোড়া রেখে তিনি বাকি সব ঘোড়ার পায়ের শিরা কেটে দিলেন।

David took from him one thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.

5 ৫ দম্মেশকের অরামীয়েরা যখন সোবার রাজা হদরেষরকে সাহায্য করতে আসল তখন দায়ূদ তাদের বাইশ হাজার লোককে মেরে ফেললেন।

When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck of the Arameans twenty-two thousand men.

6 ৬ দায়ূদ অরাম রাজ্যের দম্মেশকে সৈন্যদল রাখলেন। তাতে অরামীয়েরা তাঁর দাস হলো এবং তাঁকে কর দিল। এই ভাবে দায়ূদ যে কোনো জায়গায় যেতেন সদাপ্রভু সেখানে তাঁকে জয়ী করতেন।

Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus; and the Arameans became servants to David, and brought tribute. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

7 ৭ হদরেষরের লোকদের সোনার ঢালগুলো দায়ূদ যিরূশালেমে নিয়ে আসলেন।

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

8 ৮ টিভৎ ও কূন নামে হদরেষরের দুটো শহর থেকে দায়ূদ প্রচুর পরিমাণে পিতলও নিয়ে আসলেন। এই পিতল দিয়ে শলোমন সেই বিরাট পাত্র, থাম ও পিতলের অন্যান্য জিনিস তৈরী করেছিলেন।

From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.

9 ৯ হমাতের রাজা তয়ূ শুনতে পেলেন যে, দায়ূদ সোবার রাজা হদরেষরের গোটা সৈন্যদলকে হারিয়ে দিয়েছেন।

When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,

10 ১০ দায়ূদ হদরেষরের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধে জয়ী হয়েছেন বলে তাঁকে শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন জানাবার জন্য তয়ি তাঁর ছেলে হদোরামকে রাজা দায়ূদের কাছে পাঠিয়ে দিলেন। এই হদরেষরের সঙ্গে তয়ূর অনেকবার যুদ্ধ হয়েছিল। হদোরাম দায়ূদের জন্য সঙ্গে করে সোনা, রূপা ও পিতলের নানা রকম জিনিস নিয়ে এসেছিলেন।

he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to Greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him; (for Hadadezer had wars with Tou; ) and he had with him all kinds of vessels of gold and silver and bronze.

11 ১১ এর আগে রাজা দায়ূদ ইদোমীয়, মোয়াবীয়, অম্মোনীয়, পলেষ্টীয় এবং অমালেকীয়দের কাছ থেকে সোনা ও রূপা নিয়ে এসে যেমন সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে আলাদা করে রেখেছিলেন তেমনি এগুলো নিয়েও তিনি তাই করলেন।

King David also dedicated these to the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he took from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the people of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12 ১২ সরূয়ার ছেলে অবীশয় লবণ উপত্যকায় আঠারো হাজার ইদোমীয়কে মেরে ফেললেন।

Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah struck of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.

13 ১৩ তিনি ইদোমের কয়েক জায়গায় সৈন্যদল রাখলেন আর তাতে সমস্ত ইদোমীয়েরা দায়ূদের অধীন হল। দায়ূদ যে কোনো জায়গায় যেতেন সদাপ্রভু সেখানেই তাঁকে জয়ী করতেন।

He put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

14 ১৪ দায়ূদ সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল দেশের উপর রাজত্ব করতে লাগলেন। তাঁর লোকদের তিনি ন্যায়ভাবে বিচার ও শাসন করতেন।

David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness to all his people.

15 ১৫ সরূয়ার ছেলে যোয়াব ছিলেন তাঁর প্রধান সেনাপতি আর অহীলূদের ছেলে যিহোশাফট তাঁর রাজত্বের সব ইতিহাস লিখে রাখতেন।

Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

16 ১৬ অহীটূবের ছেলে সাদোক ও অবিয়াথরের ছেলে অবীমেলক ছিলেন যাজক আর শব্‌শ ছিলেন রাজার লেখক।

and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shisha was scribe;

17 ১৭ যিহোয়াদার ছেলে বনায় করেথীয় ও পলেথীয়দের প্রধান, আর দায়ূদের ছেলেরা রাজার প্রধান প্রধান পদে নিযুক্ত ছিলেন।

and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
