< Mateo 26 >

1 Eta guertha cedin acabatu cituenean Iesusec propos hauc guciac, erran baitziecén bere discipuluey.
When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
2 Badaquiçue ecen bi egunen buruän Bazco eguiten dela, eta guiçonaren Semea tradituren dela crucifica dadinçat.
“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
3 Orduan bildu içan dirade Sacrificadore principalac eta Scribác eta populuco Ancianoac Sacrificadore principal Caiphas deitzen denaren salara.
Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
4 Eta conseillu eduqui ceçaten fineciaz Iesusen hatzamaiteco eta hiltzeco.
and they plotted together to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.
5 Baina erraiten çuten, Ez bestán, tumultoric eztençát populuaren artean.
But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be a riot among the people.”
6 Eta Iesus Bethanian Simon sorhayoaren etchean cela,
Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 Ethor cedin harengana emaztebat, boeytabat vnguentu precio handitacoric çuela, eta huts ceçan, hura iarriric egon eta, haren buru gainera.
a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it out on his head as he reclined at the table.
8 Eta hori ikussiric, haren discipuluey gaitzi cequién cioitela, Certaco da goastu haur?
When his disciples saw it, they were indignant and said, “For what purpose is this waste?
9 Ecen vnguentu haur precio handitan saldu ahal çatequeen, eta eman paubrey.
This ointment could have been sold for a large sum, and the money could have been given to the poor.”
10 Eta hori eçaguturic Iesusec dioste, Cergatic fatigatzen duçue emazte haur? ecen obra ombat enegana obratu du.
Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you causing trouble for this woman? For she has done a good deed to me.
11 Ecen bethiere paubreac vkanen dituçue çuequin: baina ni eznauçue bethi vkanen.
You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.
12 Ecen hunec vnguentu hunen ene corputz gainera hustea ene ohorztecotzát eguin du.
She has put this ointment on my body to prepare me for burial.
13 Eguiaz erraiten drauçuet, non-ere predicaturen baita Euangelio haur mundu gucian, hunec eguin duena-ere contaturen da hunen memoriotan.
Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial to her.”
14 Orduan ioan içan da hamabietaric bat Iudas Iscariot deitzen cena, Sacrificadore principaletara.
Then one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
15 Eta dioste, Cer eman nahi drautaçue, eta nic hura çuey liuraturen baitrauçuet? Eta hec assigna cietzóten hoguey eta hamar diru peça.
and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him up to you?” So they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Eta gueroztic aicina bilha çabilan, hura tradi leçançat.
And from then on he was looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
17 Eta altchagarri gaberico oguién bestaco lehen egunean ethor citecen discipuluac Iesusgana, ciotsatela, Non nahi duc appain diaçágun iatera Bazcoa?
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to make preparations for yoʋ to eat the Passover?”
18 Eta harc erran ciecen, Çoazte hirira edoceingana, eta erroçue, Magistruac cioc, Ene demborá hurbil duc, hi baithan eguinen diat Bazcoa neure discipuluequin,
He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near. I am going to keep the Passover with yoʋ, along with my disciples.”’”
19 Eta discipuluéc eguin ceçaten Iesusec ordenatu cerauen beçala, eta appain ceçaten Bazcoa.
So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
20 Bada arrastu cenean, iar cedin mahainean hamabiequin.
When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve.
21 Eta hec alha ciradela, erran ceçan, Eguiaz erraiten drauçuet, ecen çuetaric batec tradituren nauela.
As they were eating, he said, “Truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
22 Orduan triste citecen haguitz, eta has cequión hetaric batbedera erraiten, Ala ni naiz, Iauna?
Greatly distressed, they began to say to him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”
23 Baina harc ihardesten çuela erran ceçan, Norc eçarten baitu enequin escua trempatzeco platean, harc tradituren nau.
Jesus answered, “The one who has dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.
24 Segur, guiçonaren Semea badoa harçaz scribatua den beçala: baina maledictione guiçon haren gainean ceinez guiçonaren Semea traditzen baita: on çuqueen guiçon harc baldin sorthu içan ezpaliz.
The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”
25 Eta ihardesten çuela Iudasec, ceinec hura traditzen baitzuen, erran ceçan, Magistruá, ni naiz? Diotsa, Hic erran duc.
Then Judas, who betrayed him, replied, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself.”
26 Eta hec alha ciradela har ceçan Iesusec oguia, eta gratiác rendaturic, hauts ceçan, eta eman ciecén bere discipuluey, eta erran, Har eçaçue, ian eçaçue, haur da ene gorputza.
As they were eating, Jesus took the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take and eat this bread; this is my body.”
27 Eta harturic copá, eta gratiac rendaturic, eman ciecén, erraiten çuela, Edan eçaçue hunetaric gucióc.
Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you,
28 Ecen haur da ene odol Testamentu berricoa anhitzengatic issurten dena bekatuén barkamendutan.
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
29 Eta badiotsuet, ecen eztudala edanen hemendic harát aihen fructu hunetaric, çuequin berriric neure Aitaren resumán hura edanen dudan egunerano.
But I tell you, from this point forward I will certainly not drink again from this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it with you anew in the kingdom of my Father.”
30 Eta canticoa erranic ioan citecen Oliuatzetaco mendirát.
And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 Orduan dioste Iesusec, Çuec gucióc gau hunetan scandalizaturen çarete nitan: ecen scribatua da, Ioren dut artzaina, eta barreyaturen dirade arthaldeco ardiac.
Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 Baina resuscita nadin ondoan, çuen aitzinean ioanen naiz Galileara.
But after I have been raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”
33 Eta ihardesten duela Pierrisec diotsa, Guciac hitan scandaliza baditez-ere, ni iagoitic ezniaitec scandaliza.
Peter answered him, “Even if everyone else falls away because of yoʋ, I will never fall away.”
34 Diotsa Iesusec, Eguiaz erraiten drauat, ecen gau hunetan oillarrac io deçan baino lehen hiruretan vkaturen nauäla.
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ that on this night, before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.”
35 Diotsa Pierrisec, Are baldin hirequin hiltzera behar badaquit-ere, ez aut vkaturen. Halaber discipulu guciec-ere erran ceçaten.
But Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with yoʋ, I will certainly not deny yoʋ.” And all the disciples said the same thing.
36 Orduan ethor cedin Iesus hequin Gethsemane deitzen den leku batetara: eta dioste discipuluey, Iar çaitezte hemen, harache ioanic othoitz daididano.
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
37 Eta harturic Pierris eta Zebedeoren bi semeac, has cedin tristetzen eta guciz keichatzen.
And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and distressed.
38 Orduan dioste Iesusec, Alde gucietaric triste da ene arima heriorano: çaudete hemen, eta veilla eçaçue enequin.
Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to the point of death; stay here and keep watch with me.”
39 Eta aitzinachiago ioanic, ahozpez iar cedin, othoitz eguiten çuela, eta cioela, Ene Aitá, baldin possible bada, iragan bedi eneganic copa haur: guciagatic-ere ez nola nic nahi baitut, baina nola hic.
And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as yoʋ will.”
40 Guero ethorten da discipuluetara, eta erideiten ditu lo daunçala: eta diotsa Pierrisi, Horrela orembat ecin veillatu duçue enequin?
Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?
41 Veilla eçaçue eta othoitz eguiçue, sar etzaitezten tentationetan: ecen spiritua prompto da, baina haraguia flacu.
Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 Berriz bigarren aldian ioan cedin, eta othoitz eguin ceçan, erraiten çuela, Ene Aitá, baldin possible ezpada copa haur iragan dadin eneganic, hura edaten dudala baicen: eguin bedi hire vorondatea.
Again, he went away for a second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me unless I drink it, may yoʋr will be done.”
43 Guero itzuliric erideiten ditu berriz lo daunçala: ecen hayen beguiac sorthatuac ciraden.
Then he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 Eta vtziric hec, berriz ioan cedin, eta othoitz eguin ceçan heren aldian, hitz berac erraiten cituela.
So he left them and went away again and prayed for a third time, saying the same thing.
45 Orduan ethorten da bere discipuluetara, eta dioste, Lo eguiçue gaurguero, eta reposa çaitezte: huná, hurbildu da orena, eta guiçonaren Semea liuratzen da gaichtoén escuetara.
Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Sleep on now and take your rest! Behold, the hour has drawn near, and the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
46 Iaiqui çaitezte, goacen: huná, hurbildu da ni traditzen nauena.
Rise, let us go. Behold, my betrayer has drawn near.”
47 Eta hura oraino minço cela, huná, Iudas hamabietaric bat, ethor cedin, eta harequin gendetze handia ezpatequin eta vhequin, Sacrificadore principalén eta populuco Ancianoén partez.
While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came. With him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Eta hura traditzen çuenac, eman cerauen seignale, cioela, Nori-ere pot eguinen baitraucat, hura da: çatchetzate hari.
Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, he is the one; arrest him.”
49 Eta bertan hurbilduric Iesusgana, erran ceçan, Magistruá, Vngui hel daquiala. Eta pot eguin cieçón.
Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him.
50 Orduan Iesusec erran cieçón Adisquideá, certan aiz hemen? Orduan hurbilduric eçar citzaten escuac Iesusen gainean, eta lot cequizquión.
Jesus said to him, “Friend, for what purpose have yoʋ come?” Then they came forward, took hold of Jesus, and arrested him.
51 Eta huná, Iesusequin ciradenetaric batec, auançaturic escua, idoqui ceçan bere ezpatá, eta ioric Sacrificadore principalaren cerbitzaria, edequi cieçón beharria.
And behold, one of the men with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword. He struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.
52 Orduan diotsa Iesusec, Itzul eçac eure ezpatá bere lekura: ecen ezpata harturen duten guciac, ezpataz hilen dituc.
Then Jesus said to him, “Put yoʋr sword back into its place, for all who take the sword will die by the sword.
53 Vste duc ecin othoitz daidiodala orain neure Aitari, eta baitinguzquet bertan hamabi legione baino guehiago Aingueru?
Or do yoʋ think that I cannot call on my Father right now, and he will provide me with more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Nolatan beraz compli litezque Scripturác, diotenean, ecen hunela behar dela eguin?
How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
55 Ordu hartan berean erran ciecén Iesusec gendetzey, Gaichtaguin baten ondoan beçala ilki içan çarete ezpatequin eta vhequin, ene hatzamaitera: egun oroz çuen artean iarten nincén, iracasten ari nincela templean, eta eznauçue hatzaman.
In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out to arrest me with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me.
56 Baina haur gucia eguin içan da, compli litecençat Prophetén Scripturác. Orduan discipulu guciéc, hura abandonnaturic, ihes eguin ceçaten.
But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
57 Baina Iesus, hatzaman çutenéc, eraman ceçaten Caiphas Sacrificadore subiranoagana, non Scribác eta Ancianoac bilduac baitziraden.
Now those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 Eta Pierris iarreiquiten çayón vrrundanic Sacrificadore subiranoaren salarano, eta barnera sarthuric, iar cedin cerbitzariequin, fina ikus leçançát.
But Peter was following him at a distance, coming as far as the courtyard of the high priest. After going inside, he sat with the officers to see the outcome.
59 Eta Sacrificadore principalac eta Ancianoac eta conseillu gucia testimoniage falsu bilha çabiltzan Iesusen contra, hil eraci leçatençát:
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus, so that they could put him to death,
60 Eta etzeçaten eriden: eta anhitz testimonio falsu ethorri bacen-ere etzeçaten eriden moldezcoric. Baina finean ethorriric bi testimonio falsuc erran ceçaten,
but they did not find any. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they did not find any.
61 Hunec erran du, Deseguin ahal dirot Iaincoaren templea, eta hirur egunez hura reedifica.
But at last two false witnesses came forward and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
62 Orduan iaiquiric Sacrificadore subiranoac erran cieçón, Eztuc deus ihardesten? cer da hauc hire contra testificatzen dutena?
So the high priest stood up and said to him, “Do yoʋ make no answer? What are these men testifying against yoʋ?”
63 Eta Iesus ichilic cegoen. Orduan ihardesten duela Sacrificadore subiranoac diotsa, Adiuratzen aut Iainco viciaren partez, erran dieçaguán, eya hi aicenez Christ Iaincoaren Semea.
But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I adjure yoʋ by the living God to tell us if yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of God.”
64 Diotsa Iesusec, Hic erran duc: baina are diotsuet, Hemendic harat ikussiren duçue guiçonaren Semea iarriric dagoela Iaincoaren botherearen escuinean, eta ceruco hodeyetan ethorten dela.
Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself. Nevertheless I say to you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
65 Orduan Sacrificadore subiranoac erdira citzan bere abillamenduac, erraiten çuela, Blasphematu du, cer guehiago testimonio behar dugu? huná, orain ençun vkan duçue hunen blasphemioa.
Then the high priest tore his garments and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard his blasphemy.
66 Cer irudi çaiçue? Eta hec ihardesten çutela, erran ceçaten. Hil mereci du.
What do you think?” They answered, “He deserves death.”
67 Orduan thu eguin cieçoten beguithartera, eta buffeta ceçaten, eta bercéc cihorréz vkaldi eman cieçoten,
Then they spit in his face and struck him. Others slapped him,
68 Cioitela, Christ, prophetiza ieçaguc, nor den io auena.
saying, “Prophesy to us, yoʋ Christ! Who is it that struck yoʋ?”
69 Eta Pierris iarriric cegoén lekorean salán: eta ethor cequión nescatobat, cioela, Hi-ere Iesus Galileanoarequin incén.
Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him and said, “Yoʋ also were with Jesus the Galilean.”
70 Baina harc vka ceçan gucién aitzinean, cioela, Etzeaquinat cer dionán.
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what yoʋ are talking about!”
71 Eta hura corralerat ilkiten cela ikus ceçan berce nescato batec: eta erran ciecén han ciradeney, Haur-ere Iesus Nazarenorequin cen.
Then he went out to the gateway, and another servant girl saw him and said to those who were there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 Eta berriz vka ceçan iuramendurequin, cioela, Ezteçagut guiçona.
But again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.”
73 Eta appur-baten buruän ethor citecen present içan ciradenac, eta erran cieçoten Pierrisi, Eguiazqui hi-ere hetaric aiz: ecen eure minçatzeac-ere declaratzen au.
After a little while, those who were standing there came up and said to Peter, “Truly yoʋ also are one of them, for even yoʋr accent gives yoʋ away.”
74 Orduan has cedin maradicatzen eta arnegatzen, cioela, Ezteçagut guiçona. Eta bertan oillarrac io ceçan.
Then he began to invoke curses and to swear: “I do not know the man.” And immediately a rooster crowed.
75 Orduan orhoit cedin Pierris Iesusec erran ceraucan hitzaz, ceinec erran baitzeraucan, Oillarrac io deçan baino lehen, hiruretan vkaturen nauc. Eta camporat ilkiric nigar eguin ceçan mingui.
Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: “Before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.
