< Lukas 23 >

1 Guero altcha cedin hayén gendetze gucia, eta eraman ceçaten hura Pilatgana.
And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him to Pilate.
2 Eta has citecen haren accusatzen, cioitela, Eriden vkan dugu haur populuaren corrumpitzen, eta tributén Cesari emaitetic debetatzen ari dela, dioela, bera dela Christ Reguea.
And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
3 Orduan Pilatec interroga ceçan hura, cioela, Hi aiz Iuduén Reguea? Eta harc ihardesten ceraucala, erran ceçan, Hic dioc.
And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.
4 Eta erran ciecén Pilatec Sacrificadore principaley eta gendetzey, Hoguenic batre eztut erideiten guiçon hunetan.
Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.
5 Eta hec hambat gortzenago ciraden, cioitela, Mouitzen dic populua, iracasten ari dela Iudea gucian, Galilean hassiric hunadrano.
And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee to this place.
6 Eta Pilatec Galileaz minçatzen ençun çuenean, interroga ceçan, eya Galileano cenez guiçona.
When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man was a Galilaean.
7 Eta eçaguturic ecen hura Herodesen iurisdictioneco cela, igor ceçan Herodesgana, hura-ere Ierusalemen cen egun hetan.
And as soon as he knew that he belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself was also at Jerusalem at that time.
8 Eta Herodes Iesus ikussiric aleguera cedin haguitz: ecen aspaldi çuela, haren ikusteco desira çuen, ceren anhitz gauça ençuten baitzuen harçaz: eta sperança çuen cembeit signo ikussiren çuela harçaz eguiten.
And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he had been for a long time, desirous to see him, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to see some miracle done by him.
9 Eta interroga ceçan anhitz hitzez: baina harc etzieçon deus ihardets.
Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.
10 Eta Sacrificadore principalac eta Scribác ceuden han arrogantqui hura accusatzen çutela.
And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.
11 Baina Herodesec bere gendearequin hura menospreciaturic, eta escarniaturic, abillamendu churi batez veztituric, harçara igor ceçan Pilatgana.
And Herod with his soldiers treated him with contempt, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
12 Eta egun hartan berean adiquisde citecen elkarren artean Pilate eta Herodes: ecen lehen etsay ciraden elkarren artean.
And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.
13 Orduan Pilatec, deithuric Sacrificadore prinpalac, eta Gobernadoreac, eta populua, erran ciecén,
And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 Presentatu drautaçue guiçon haur populuaren nahatsale beçala: eta huná, nic çuen aitzinean interrogaturic, hoguenic batre eztut eriden guiçon hunetan, çuec accusatzen duçuenetaric:
Said to them, Ye have brought this man to me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man concerning those things of which ye accuse him:
15 Baina ez Herodesec-ere: ecen igorri vkan çaituztet harengana, eta huná, herio mereci duen gauçaric eztrauca eguin.
No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done to him.
16 Beraz gaztigatu eta, largaturen dut.
I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
17 Eta behar cerauen bat largatu bestán.
( For of necessity he must release one to them at the feast.)
18 Bada iar cedin oihuz elkarrequin gendetze gucia, cioela, Ken ieçaguc haur, eta larga ieçaguc Barabbas,
And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas:
19 Cein baitzén, hirian eguin içan cen cembeit mutinationegatic eta heriotzegatic presoindeguian eçarria.
( Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)
20 Berriz bada Pilate minça cequién, Iesus largatu nahiz.
Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them.
21 Baina hec heyagoraz iarten ciraden, erraiten çutela, Crucifica eçac, crucifica eçac hori.
But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.
22 Eta harc heren aldian erran ciecén, Baina cer gaizqui eguin du hunec? hiltzeco hoguenic eztut erideiten haur baithan: gaztigaturic beraz largaturen dut.
And he said to them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.
23 Baina hec hertsen çutén oihu handiz requeritzen çutela, crucifica ledin: eta hayén heyagorác eta Sacrificadore principalenac renforçatzen ciraden.
And they were insistent with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
24 Orduan Pilatec iugea ceçan eguin lequién galde eguiten çutena.
And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
25 Eta larga ciecén mutinationeagatic eta heriotzeagatic presoindeguian eçarri içan cena, ceinen escatu içan baitziraden: eta eman ciecén Iesus, nahi lutena leguiten.
And he released to them him that for sedition and murder had been cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
26 Eta hura eramaiten çutela, harturic Simon Cyreneano landetaric heldu cen-bat, hari crutzea gainean eçar cieçoten Iesusen ondoan eramaiteco.
And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
27 Eta iarreiquiten çayón gendetze handia populutic eta emaztetaric, hura plaignitzen eta lamentatzen çutela.
And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, who also bewailed and lamented him.
28 Baina itzuliric hetarát Iesusec erran ceçan, Ierusalemeco alabác, eztaguiçuela nigarric ene gainean: baina ceuron buruén gainean eguiçue nigar, eta çuen haourrén gainean.
But Jesus turning to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
29 Ecen huná, ethorriren dirade egunac ceinétan erranen baitute, dohatsu dirade sterilac, eta engendratu eztuten sabelac, eta eredosqui eztuten vgatzac.
For, behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts which never nursed.
30 Orduan hassiren dirade erraiten mendiey, Eror çaitezte gure gainera: eta mendisquey, estal gaitzaçue.
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 Ecen baldin egur hecean gauça hauc eguiten badituzte, eyharrean cer eguinen da?
For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
32 Eta eramaiten ciraden berceric bi gaizquiguile-ere harequin hil eraciteco.
And two others, who were malefactors, were led with him to be put to death.
33 Ethorri içan ciradenean bada Bur-heçur deitzen den lekura, han crucifica ceçaten hura, eta gaizquiguileac: bata escuinean eta bercea ezquerrean.
And when they had come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Eta Iesusec erraiten çuen, Aitá, barka iecec: ecen etzeaquie cer eguiten dutén. Guero haren abillamenduac partituric, çorte egotz ceçaten.
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
35 Eta populua han egoiten cen beha cegoela: eta truffatzen ciraden harçaz Gobernadoreac-ere hequin, cioitela, Berceac emparatu vkan ditu, empara beça bere burua, baldin haur bada Christ Iaincoaren elegitua.
And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them mocked him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he is Christ, the chosen of God.
36 Eta truffatzen ciraden harçaz gendarmesac-ere, hurbiltzen çaizcala eta vinagre presentatzen ceraucatela:
And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37 Eta erraiten çutela, Baldin hi bahaiz Iuduén Reguea empara eçac eure buruä.
And saying, If thou art the king of the Jews, save thyself.
38 Eta cen scributobat-ere haren garayan, letra Grec-ez eta Latinez eta Hebraicoz scribatua, hitz hautan, HAVR DA IVDVEN REGVEA.
And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Eta gaizquiguile vrkatuetaric batac blasphematzen çuen hura, cioela, Baldin hi bahaiz Christ, empara eçac eure buruä eta gu.
And one of the malefactors who were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou art Christ, save thyself and us.
40 Baina ihardesten çuela berceac reprotcha ceçan hura, cioela, Ezaiz Iaincoaren berere beldur, ikussiric ecen condemnatione berean aicela?
But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 Eta gu behinçat iustoqui: ecen eguin ditugunén merecituac recebitzen citiagu: baina hunec eztic deus gaizquiric eguin.
And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 Eta erran cieçón Iesusi, Orhoit albeitendi niçaz, Iauna, ethor adinean eure resumara.
And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 Orduan erran cieçón Iesusec, Eguiaz erraiten drauat, egun enequin içanen aicela paradisoan.
And Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, This day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
44 Eta cen sey orenen inguruä, eta ilhumbe eguin cedin lur guciaren gainean bedratzi orenetarano.
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
45 Iguzquia-ere ilhund cedin, eta templeco velá erdira cedin artetic.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in the midst.
46 Eta oihu eguinic voz handiz Iesusec dio, Aitá, hire escuetan eçarten diat neure spiritua. Eta haur erranic renda ceçan spiritua.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
47 Eta ikussiric Centenerac cer eguin içan cen, glorifica ceçan Iaincoa, cioela, Eguiazqui guiçon haur iusto cen.
Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
48 Eta spectacle hartara bildu içan ciraden gendetze guciac, ikussiric eguin içan ciraden gauçác bere bulharrey ceraunstela itzultzen ciraden.
And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49 Eta ceuden haren eçagunac guciac vrrun, eta emazte elkarrequin hari Galileatic iarreiqui içan çaizcanac, gauça hauc ikusten cituztela.
And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
50 Eta huna, Ioseph çaritzan guiçombat, conseiller, guiçon ona eta iustoa:
And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:

(The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them; ) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 Hura ethorriric Pilatgana, esca cedin Iesusen gorputzaren.
This man went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 Eta hura erautsiric estal ceçan mihisse batez, eta eçar ceçan monument batetan cein baitzén arroca batetan ebaquia, ceinetan oraino nehor ezpaitzén eçarri içan.
And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, where man was never before laid.
54 Eta cen preparationeco eguna, eta Sabbath eguna haren ondoan heldu cen.
And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 Eta iarreiquiric harequin Galileatic ethorri içan ciraden emaztec-ere mira ceçaten monumenta, eta nola eçarri içan cen haren gorputza.
And the women also, who came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
56 Guero itzuli ciradenean appresta citzaten vssainac eta vnguentuac, eta Sabbathoan reposa citecen, manamenduaren araura.
And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested on the sabbath according to the commandment.
