1 Guciz ençuten da çuen artean paillardiça badela, eta halaco paillardiça cein Gentilén artean aippatzen-ere ezpaita: ecen cembeitec bere aitaren emaztea entretenitzen duela.
On all hands, there is reported to be among you—fornication, and such fornication as this—which, not among the nations, [is found], —as that one should have, his father’s wife: —
2 Eta çuec hantuac çarete, eta eztuçue nigar lehen eguin, ken ledinçát çuen artetic eguitate haur eguin duena.
And, ye, have become puffed up, and have not rather mourned, in order that he might be removed out of your midst, who, this deed, hath wrought.
3 Nic behinçát gorputzez absent beçala, baina present spirituz, ia deliberatu dut present beçala, haur hala eguin duenaren,
For, I, indeed, —being absent in the body, but present in the spirit, have already judged, as present, him who, thus, this thing hath perpetrated: —
4 (Çuec eta ene spiritua Iesus Christ gure Iaunaren icenean bildurric, Iesus Christ gure Iaunaren botherearequin.)
In the name of our Lord Jesus, ye being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus,
5 Halacoaren Satani liuratzera haraguiaren destructionetan, spiritua salbu dençát Iesus Iaunaren egunean.
To deliver such a one as this, unto Satan, for the destruction of the flesh, —that, the spirit, may be saved in the day of the Lord.
6 Çuen gloriatzea ezta ona: Eztaquiçue ecen altchagarri gutibatec orhe gucia altcha eraciten duela?
Unseemly, is your boast! Know ye not that, a little leaven, doth leaven, the whole of the lump?
7 Purga eçaçue bada altchagarri çaharra, orhe berri çaretençát, altchagarri gabe çareten beçala: ecen gure Bazcoa guregatic sacrificatu içan da, cein baita Christ.
Purge ye out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, —even as ye are unleavened; for, our passover, hath even been sacrificed—Christ:
8 Bada eguin deçagun besta, ez altchagarri çaharrez, ezeta malitiataco eta gaichtaqueriataco altchagarriz, baina altchagarri gaberico oguiz, diot puritatezcoz eta eguiazcoz.
So then, let us be keeping the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of baseness and wickedness, —but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 Scribatu drauçuet epistolán, nahasta etzaitezten paillartequin:
I wrote unto you in my letter—not to be mixing yourselves up with fornicators; —
10 Eta ez guciz mundu hunetaco paillartequin, edo auaritiosoequin, edo harrapariequin, edo idolatrequin: ezpere segur behar cenduquete mundutic ilki.
Not at all, [meaning] the fornicators of this world, or the covetous and extortioners, or idolaters, —else had ye been obliged, in that case, to go out of the world!
11 Baina orain scribatu drauçuet etzaitezten nahasta, baldin cembeit anaye deitzen denic paillard bada, edo auaritioso, edo idolatre, edo gaitzerraile, edo hordi, edo harrapari: halacoarequin ian-ere ezteçaçuen.
But, now, I have written unto you not to be mixing yourselves up, —if anyone named a brother, be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, with such a one as this, not so much, as to be eating together,
12 Ecen cer iudicatzeco dut nic campoco diradenez-ere? eztuçue barneco diradenéz çuec iudicatzen?
For what have I to do to be judging them who are without? Do, ye, not judge, them who are within,
13 Baina campocoac Iaunac iudicatzen ditu. Ken eçaçue bada gaichto hori ceurón artetic.
Whereas, them who are without, God, judgeth? Remove ye the wicked man from among, yourselves.
