Süleymanin Məsəlləri 14
1 Hikmətli qadın evini qurar, Səfeh qadın onu öz əli ilə uçurar.
Every wise woman builds her house: but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.
2 Düz yol tutan Rəbdən qorxar, Yolunu azan Ona xor baxar.
He that walks in his uprightness fears the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despises him.
3 Səfeh lovğa sözlərinə görə kötək qazanar, Hikmətlinin dili onu qoruyar.
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4 Öküz olmayan yerdə axur təmiz olar, Amma bol məhsul öküzün gücü ilə yaranar.
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 Doğru şahid yalan deməz, Yalançı şahid yalandan üzə durar.
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
6 Rişxəndçi hikmət axtaranda onu tapmaz, Dərrakəli adama bilik tapmaq asan olar.
A scorner seeks wisdom, and finds it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understands.
7 Axmağın qarşısından çəkil, Onun dilində ağıllı söz tapmazsan.
Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 Uzaqgörən hikməti ilə öz yolunu anlar, Axmaq səfehliyi ilə öz-özünü aldadar.
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Səfehlər günaha rişxənd edər, Əməlisalehlər bir-birini məmnun edər.
Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
10 Ürək öz dərdini bilər, Özgələr onun sevincinə şərik olmaz.
The heart knows his own bitterness; and a stranger does not intermeddle with his joy.
11 Şərin evi tar-mar olar, Əməlisalehlərin yurdu çiçək açar.
The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
12 Yol var ki, insanın qarşısında düz görünür, Amma sonu ölümdür.
There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 Ürək güləndə də qəmli olar, Sevincin sonunda da kədər var.
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that delight is heaviness.
14 Azğın ürəklilər öz yollarının bəhrəsini doyunca yeyir, Yaxşı adam isə əməlinin əvəzini alır.
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
15 Cahil hər sözə inanar, Uzaqgörən hər addımına nəzər salar.
The simple believes every word: but the prudent man looks well to his going.
16 Hikmətli qorxub pislikdən dönər, Axmaq ehtiyatsızdır, özünə güvənər.
A wise man fears, and departs from evil: but the fool rages, and is confident.
17 Hövsələsiz səfeh-səfeh iş görər, Pisniyyət adama nifrət edilər.
He that is soon angry deals foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
18 Cahil səfehliyi irs alar, Uzaqgörənin başına bilik tacı qoyular.
The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 Pislər yaxşıların qarşısında, Şər adam isə salehin qapısında əyilər.
The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 Yoxsula qonşusu da nifrət edər, Zəngini isə çox adam sevər.
The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich has many friends.
21 Qonşusuna xor baxan günaha batar, Məzluma səxavət göstərən nə bəxtiyardır!
He that despises his neighbour sins: but he that has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
22 Şər quranlar yolundan azmırlarmı? Məqsədi xeyirxahlıq olan xeyirxahlığa, sədaqətə çatar.
Do they not go astray that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
23 Hər zəhmətdə bir fayda var, Boş sözlər insanı ehtiyac içində qoyar.
In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tends only to destitution.
24 Hikmətlinin başına sərvət tacı qoyular, Axmaqlar səfehliyi ilə tanınar.
The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
25 Doğru şahid canları qurtarar, Yalançı şahid hiylə qurar.
A true witness delivers souls: but a deceitful witness speaks lies.
26 Rəbdən qorxan tam arxayındır, Çünki Rəbb onun övladlarının pənahıdır.
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 Rəbb qorxusu həyat qaynağıdır, İnsanı ölüm tələsinə düşməkdən geri qaytarır.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28 Padşahın əzəməti xalqın çoxluğu ilə bilinər, Əgər təbəələri olmasa, hökmdar süqut edər.
In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 Gec qəzəblənənin böyük dərrakəsi var, Hövsələsizlərdən səfehlik çıxar.
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalts folly.
30 Ürəyin rahatlığı cana həyat verər, Paxıllıqsa sümükləri çürüdər.
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
31 Kasıba zülm edən Yaradanına xor baxar, Yoxsula lütf göstərən Ona hörmət edər.
He that oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker: but he that honors him has mercy on the poor.
32 Şər adam pisliyi üzündən qovular, Salehin ölümündə belə, pənahı var.
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death.
33 Hikmət dərrakəlinin qəlbində özünə rahat yuva qurar, Hətta axmaqların arasında da bəlli olar.
Wisdom rests in the heart of him that has understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
34 Salehlik bir milləti ucaldar, Günah ümmətləri utandırar.
Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
35 Padşah ağıllı qulundan razı qalar, Adbatıransa onun qəzəbinə düçar olar.
The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causes shame.
