1 Qardaşlarım, bildiyiniz kimi biz müəllimlər daha ciddi bir mühakimədən keçəcəyik. Bu səbəbə görə də çoxunuz müəllim olmayın.
Not many [of you] teachers do become brothers of mine, knowing that greater judgment we will receive.
2 Çünki hamımız çox büdrəyirik. Sözləri ilə büdrəməyən bir kimsə bütün bədəni də yüyənləyə bilən kamil bir insandır.
In many ways for we stumble all; If anyone in what he says not does stumble, this one [is] a perfect man, able to bridle indeed all the body.
3 Bizə itaət etsinlər deyə atların ağzına yüyən taxırıq, beləcə bütün bədənlərini döndəririk.
(If *NO) (now *N+K+o) of the horses bits into the mouths we put (for *N+kO) to obey them us, even all the body of them we turn about.
4 Bax gəmilər də böyük olduqları və güclü küləklər tərəfindən aparıldıqları halda sükançının könlü haraya istəyirsə, kiçicik bir sükanla oraya dönür.
Behold also the ships, so great being and by winds strong being driven, are turned about by a very small rudder where (ever *k) the impulse [of the one] who is steering (decides. *N+kO)
5 Dil də elədir, bədənin kiçik üzvüdür, amma çox öyünür. Baxın, balaca bir qığılcım böyük bir meşəni yandırır!
Thus also the tongue a small member is and exceeding things it boasts. Behold (a great *N+kO) fire how great a forest it kindles;
6 Dil də oddur. Dil bədən üzvlərimizin arasında haqsızlıq dünyasıdır. O bütün bədənimizi ləkələyir və özü cəhənnəmdən odlandırıldığı kimi həyatımızın gedişatını da odlandırır. (Geenna g1067)
Also the tongue [is] a fire, the world of iniquity (thus *k) The tongue is set among the members of us which is defiling all the body and setting on fire the course of nature and [itself] being set on fire by hell. (Geenna g1067)
7 Çünki istər heyvanların, istərsə də quşların, istər sürünənlərin, istərsə də dəniz məxluqlarının hər cinsi insan nəsli tərəfindən əhliləşdirilir və əhliləşdirilmişdir.
All for kinds of beasts both and of birds, of creeping things both and things of the sea is subdued and he has been subdued by the race human;
8 Amma dili heç bir insan əhliləşdirə bilmir. Dil qarşısıalınmaz bəladır və öldürücü zəhərlə doludur.
the but tongue no [one] to subdue is able of men; ([it is] an unruly *N+kO) evil, full of poison deadly.
9 Dilimizlə Rəbb Ataya alqış edirik. Dilimizlə də Allahın surətində yaradılmış insanları lənətləyirik.
With it we bless the (Lord *N+KO) and Father and with it we curse men those according to [the] likeness of God having been made;
10 Alqış və lənət eyni ağızdan çıxır. Qardaşlarım, bu belə olmamalıdır.
Out of the same mouth proceed forth blessing and cursing. Not ought, brothers of Mine, these things so to be.
11 Bir bulağın eyni gözündən şirin və acı su çıxarmı?
surely not ever the spring out of the same opening pours forth [both] fresh and bitter?
12 Qardaşlarım, əncir ağacı zeytun və üzüm tənəyi də əncir yetişdirə bilərmi? Eləcə də şor bulaqdan şirin su gələ bilməz.
Surely not is able, brothers of mine, a fig tree olives to produce Or a vine figs? (thus *k) (Nor *N+kO) (spring *K) of salt (and *k) fresh to produce water.
13 Aranızda müdrik və dərrakəli olan varmı? Qoy o öz yaxşı həyat tərzi ilə, müdriklikdən yaranan həlimliklə yaxşı əməllərini göstərsin.
Who [is] wise and understanding among you? he should show out of the good conduct the works of him in [the] humility of wisdom.
14 Amma ürəyinizdə acı qısqanclıq, xudbin ehtiras varsa, öyünməyin və həqiqəti inkar etməyin.
If however jealousy bitter you have and self-interest in the heart of you, not do boast [of it] and do lie against the truth.
15 Belə müdriklik yuxarıdan nazil olan müdriklik deyil, ancaq dünyəvi, ruhani olmayan və şeytani müdriklikdir.
Not is this the wisdom from above coming down, but [is] earthly unspiritual demonic.
16 Çünki harada qısqanclıq və xudbin ehtiras varsa, orada qarışıqlıq və hər cür pis əməl vardır.
Where for jealousy and self-interest [exist], there [will be] disorder and every evil thing.
17 Amma yuxarıdan nazil olan müdriklik əvvəla safdır, sonra da sülhpərvərdir, mülayimdir, itaətlidir, mərhəmət və xeyirli bəhrələrlə doludur, qərəzsizdir, riyasızdır.
But the from above wisdom first indeed pure is, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and of fruits good, impartial, (and *k) sincere.
18 Sülh yaradanların əkdiyi sülh toxumlarından salehlik bəhrəsi yetişir.
[The] fruit moreover of righteousness in peace is sown by those making peace.
