1 Ey ağılsız Qalatiyalılar! Sizi kim tilsimlədi? İsa Məsihin çarmıxa çəkilməsi gözləriniz önündə açıqca təsvir olundu!
O senseless Galatians, who hath bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been set forth, crucified among you?
2 Sizdən yalnız bunu öyrənmək istəyirəm: Ruhu Qanuna əməl etməklə, yoxsa eşitdiyinizə iman etməklə aldınız?
This only would I learn of you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Siz bu qədərmi ağılsızsınız? Ruhla başlayandan sonra indi cismani səyləmi bitirirsiniz?
Are you so foolish, that, whereas you began in the Spirit, you would now be made perfect by the flesh?
4 Boş yerəmi o qədər əzab çəkdiniz? Həqiqətən, bunlar boş yerə idi?
Have you suffered so great things in vain? If it be yet in vain.
5 Bəs sizi Ruhla təmin edən və aranızda möcüzələr yaradan Allah bunları Qanuna əməl etməyinizlə, yoxsa eşitdiyinizə iman etməyinizlə icra edir?
He therefore who giveth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you; doth he do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of the faith?
6 Məsələn, «İbrahim Allaha iman etdi və bu ona salehlik sayıldı».
As it is written: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him unto justice.
7 İndi isə bunu bilin ki, İbrahimin övladları imana əsaslananlar olur.
Know ye therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 Müqəddəs Yazı Allahın başqa millətləri imanları ilə saleh sayacağını qabaqcadan görüb İbrahimə «bütün millətlər sənin vasitənlə xeyir-dua alacaq» deyərək Müjdəni qabaqcadan bildirdi.
And the scripture, foreseeing, that God justifieth the Gentiles by faith, told unto Abraham before: In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 Beləliklə, imana əsaslananlar iman etmiş olan İbrahimlə birlikdə xeyir-dua alırlar.
Therefore they that are of faith, shall be blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 Qanuna əməl etməyə əsaslananların hamısı lənət altındadır. Çünki yazılıb: «Qoy Qanun kitabında yazılan hər şeyə riayət etməyən, onu təsdiq etməyən hər kəsə lənət olsun!»
For as many as are of the works of the law, are under a curse. For it is written: Cursed is every one, that abideth not in all things, which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 Aydındır ki, Allah qarşısında heç kim Qanun vasitəsilə saleh sayılmır, çünki «saleh adam imanla yaşayacaq».
But that in the law no man is justified with God, it is manifest: because the just man liveth by faith.
12 Qanun isə imana əsaslanmamışdır. Əksinə, «bu şeyləri yerinə yetirən adam bunların sayəsində yaşayacaq».
But the law is not of faith: but, He that doth those things, shall live in them.
13 Məsih bizim uğrumuzda lənətlənərək bizi Qanunun lənətindən satın aldı. Çünki yazılıb: «ağacdan asılan hər kəsə lənət olsun!»
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written: Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 Belə ki İbrahimin aldığı xeyir-dua Məsih İsada bütün başqa millətlərin üzərinə gəlsin və biz vəd edilmiş Ruhu iman vasitəsilə alaq.
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus: that we may receive the promise of the Spirit by faith.
15 Qardaşlar, insan düşüncəsi əsasında deyirəm: hətta insanın belə təsdiq etdiyi əhdi heç kəs ləğv edə bilməz yaxud da ona heç bir şey əlavə edə bilməz.
Brethren (I speak after the manner of man, ) yet a man’s testament, if it be confirmed, no man despiseth, nor addeth to it.
16 Vədlər yalnız İbrahimə və onun nəslinə verildi. Allah çox adam barədə danışırmış kimi «və nəslindən olanlara» yox, tək bir adam barədə danışaraq «və sənin nəslindən olana» deyir; bu «nəslindən olan» Məsihdir.
To Abraham were the promises made and to his seed. He saith not, And to his seeds, as of many: but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17 Bunu demək istəyirəm: Allahın təsdiq etdiyi Əhdi bundan dörd yüz otuz il sonra gələn Qanun qüvvədən sala bilməz ki, vədi ləğv etsin.
Now this I say, that the testament which was confirmed by God, the law which was made after four hundred and thirty years, doth not disannul, to make the promise of no effect.
18 Çünki əgər irs Qanuna əsaslanırsa, artıq vədə əsaslanmır. Amma Allah İbrahimə irsi vəd vasitəsilə lütfə görə verdi.
For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise. But God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19 Bəs Qanun nə üçündür? Qanun Əhdi pozanları təqsirləndirmək üçün əlavə olundu. Vədi alan və İbrahimin nəslindən olan Şəxs gələnə qədər qüvvədə qalmalı idi. Mələklər vasitəsilə, bir vasitəçi əli ilə tərtib edildi.
Why then was the law? It was set because of transgressions, until the seed should come, to whom he made the promise, being ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20 Vasitəçi tək bir nəfərə aid deyildir, Allah isə birdir.
Now a mediator is not of one: but God is one.
21 Deməli, Qanun Allahın vədlərinə ziddirmi? Əsla! Çünki əgər həyat verməyə qadir olan bir Qanun verilsəydi, salehlik, həqiqətən, Qanunla gələrdi.
Was the law then against the promises of God? God forbid. For if there had been a law given which could give life, verily justice should have been by the law.
22 Lakin Müqəddəs Yazı bütün kainatı günahın əsiri elan etdi ki, İsa Məsihə olan imanla vəd olunan şeylər iman edənlərə verilsin.
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise, by the faith of Jesus Christ, might be given to them that believe.
23 Amma bu iman gəlməzdən qabaq biz Qanun altında saxlanmışdıq, gələcək iman zühur edənə qədər əsir tutulmuşduq.
But before the faith came, we were kept under the law shut up, unto that faith which was to be revealed.
24 Yəni Qanun bizə Məsihə qədər yol göstərən mürəbbimiz oldu ki, imanla saleh sayılaq.
Wherefore the law was our pedagogue in Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 Amma iman gəldiyinə görə biz artıq mürəbbinin əli altında deyilik.
But after the faith is come, we are no longer under a pedagogue.
26 Siz hamınız Məsih İsaya olan iman vasitəsilə Allahın övladlarısınız.
For you are all the children of God by faith, in Christ Jesus.
27 Çünki vəftizdə Məsihlə birləşən hamınız Məsihə bürünmüsünüz.
For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ, have put on Christ.
28 Artıq Yəhudi ilə Yunan, qulla azad, kişi ilə qadın arasında fərq yoxdur. Çünki hamınız Məsih İsada birsiniz.
There is neither Jew nor Greek: there is neither bond nor free: there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 Əgər Məsihə aidsinizsə, deməli, İbrahimin nəslindənsiniz və vədə görə varissiniz.
And if you be Christ’s, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise.
