1 On dörd il keçəndən sonra isə Barnaba ilə birlikdə Titi də özümlə götürüb yenə Yerusəlimə getdim.
Then, fourteen years after, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus also with me.
2 Vəhy vasitəsilə getdim. Başqa millətlər arasında vəz etdiyim Müjdəni onlara, etibarlı olanlara şəxsən təqdim etdim ki, boş yerə cəhd etməyim yaxud da cəhd etmiş olmayım.
And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the gentiles; but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
3 Yanımda olan Tit də Yunan olduğu halda sünnət olunmağa məcbur edilmədi.
But not even Titus, who was with me, though he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised;
4 Bu iş aramıza gizlicə soxulan yalançı qardaşlar üzündən oldu. Onlar Məsih İsada malik olduğumuz azadlığı əl altından öyrənib bizi kölə etmək üçün gizlicə aramıza girdilər.
and that because of the false brethren stealthily brought in, who crept in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring into bondage;
5 Onlara bir anlıq da olsa, baş əyib təslim olmadıq ki, Müjdənin həqiqəti sizinlə qalsın.
to whom not even for an hour did we yield by the required subjection, that the truth of the gospel might still remain with you.
6 Etibarlı sayılan şəxslərə gəlincə, kim olursa olsun mənə vacib deyil, Allah insanlara tərəfkeşlik etməz. Lakin bu etibarlı sayılan şəxslər mənim dediklərimə heç nə artırmadılar.
But from those who were reputed to be somewhat—whatever they were, it matters not to me, (God accepteth no man's person, ) for to me those in reputation communicated nothing new.
7 Əksinə, sünnətlilərə Müjdə yaymaq işi Peterə tapşırıldığı kimi sünnətsizlər arasında Müjdə yaymaq işinin mənə tapşırıldığını gördülər.
But on the contrary, when they saw that I was intrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, as Peter was with that to the circumcised,
8 Çünki sünnətlilərə həvari olması üçün Peterdə fəal olan Allah başqa millətlər üçün məndə də fəal oldu.
(for he who wrought for Peter in behalf of the apostleship to the circumcised, wrought also for me in behalf of the gentiles, )
9 Cəmiyyətin sütunları sayılan Yaqub, Kefa və Yəhya mənə bağışlanan lütfü tanıdıqda mənə və Barnabaya sağ əllərini uzatdılar ki, şərikliyimiz olsun. Ona görə ki biz başqa millətlərin, onlarsa sünnətlilərin yanına getsin.
and when they knew the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the gentiles, and they to the circumcised;
10 Yalnız yoxsulları yad etməyimizi istədilər, mən də məhz bunu icra etməyə səy göstərdim.
only they wished us to remember the poor; which very thing I also was earnest to do.
11 Kefa Antakyaya gəldikdə isə şəxsən ona qarşı çıxdım, ona görə ki tənqidə layiq idi.
But when Cephas came to Antioch, I withstood him to the face; for he was condemned.
12 Çünki Yaqubun yanından bəzi adamlar gəlməmişdən əvvəl Peter başqa millətlərdən olanlarla yemək yeyirdi. Həmin adamlar gəldikdə isə sünnət tərəfdarlarından qorxaraq başqa millətlərin yanından çəkilib ayrı durdu.
For before certain persons came from James, he used to eat with the gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew, and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.
13 Onunla birlikdə o biri Yəhudilər də ikiüzlülük etdilər. Hətta Barnaba belə, onların ikiüzlülüyünə qapıldı.
And the other Jews also dissembled with him; so that even Barnabas was carried away with their dissimulation.
14 Amma mən Müjdənin həqiqətinə görə düzgün riayət etmədiklərini görəndə hamının qarşısında Kefaya dedim: «Əgər sən Yəhudi olduğun halda Yəhudi kimi deyil, başqa millətlərdən biri kimi yaşayırsansa, necə başqa millətləri Yəhudi kimi yaşamağa məcbur edirsən?»
But when I saw that they were not walking uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of gentiles, and not that of the Jews, how is it that thou compellest the gentiles to keep the customs of the Jews?
15 Biz anadangəlmə Yəhudilərik, başqa millətdən olan «günahkarlar» deyilik.
We are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the gentiles;
16 Lakin biz bilirik ki, insan Qanuna əməl etməklə deyil, yalnız İsa Məsihə iman etməklə saleh sayılır. Biz də Məsih İsaya iman etdik ki, Qanuna əməl etməklə deyil, Məsihə olan imanla saleh sayılaq. Çünki Qanuna əməl etməklə heç bir insan saleh sayılmaz.
but knowing that a man is not accepted as righteous by the works of the Law, but by faith in Christ Jesus, we also have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be accepted as righteous by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; for by the works of the Law shall no flesh be accepted as righteous.
17 Əgər biz Məsihdə saleh sayılmaq istərkən özümüz günahkar çıxsaq, belə çıxır ki, Məsih günah xidmətçisidir? Əsla!
But while seeking to be accepted as righteous in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Far be it!
18 Əgər mən əvvəlcə yıxdığımı yenidən tikirəmsə, özümü Qanunu pozan olaraq göstərirəm.
For if I again build up what I pulled down, I make myself a transgressor.
19 Çünki mən Qanun vasitəsilə Qanuna münasibətdə öldüm ki, Allah üçün yaşayım.
For I through the Law died to the Law, that I might live to God.
20 Məsihlə birlikdə çarmıxa çəkildim. Artıq mən yaşamıram, Məsih məndə yaşayır. İndi cismən yaşadığım həyata gəlincə məni sevib uğrumda Özünü fəda edən Allahın Oğluna olan imanla yaşayıram.
I have been crucified with Christ, and no longer do I live, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 Allahın lütfünü rədd etmirəm. Çünki əgər salehlik Qanun vasitəsilə qazanıla bilsəydi, deməli Məsih boş yerə öldü.
I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness come through the Law, then did Christ die for nought.
