1 Onun yerinə oğlu Yehoşafat padşah oldu və İsrailə qarşı özünü möhkəmləndirdi.
Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.
2 Yəhudanın hər qalalı şəhərinə qoşun qoydu və Yəhuda torpağına və atası Asanın aldığı Efrayim şəhərlərinə hərbi dəstələr yerləşdirdi.
He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
3 Rəbb Yehoşafatla idi, çünki atası Davudun əvvəlki yolları ilə getdi və Baal bütlərini deyil,
The LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father, and did not seek the Baals,
4 yalnız atasının Allahını axtardı və İsraillilərin etdiyi işlərə görə deyil, Allahın əmrləri ilə getdi.
but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
5 Rəbb padşahlığı onun əlində möhkəmləndirdi və bütün Yəhudalılar Yehoşafata xərac gətirdilər. Onun bol sərvəti və şərəfi vardı.
Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute; and he had riches and honor in abundance.
6 Rəbbin yollarında cəsarətləndi. Üstəlik səcdəgahları və Aşera bütlərini Yəhudadan götürdü.
His heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
7 Padşahlığının üçüncü ilində Yəhuda şəhərlərində xalqa təlim versinlər deyə bunları göndərdi: rəisləri olan Ben-Xayil, Avdiya, Zəkəriyyə, Natanel və Mikeya.
Also in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, even Ben Hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
8 Onlarla bərabər Levililər: Şemaya, Netanya, Zevadya, Asahel, Şemiramot, Yonatan, Adoniya, Toviya, Tov-Adoniya və onlarla birgə kahinlər: Elişama və Yehoram.
and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the cohanim.
9 Onlar Yəhudada xalqa təlim verdilər. Yanlarında Rəbbin Qanun kitabı olmaqla Yəhudanın bütün şəhərlərini dolaşdılar və xalqı öyrətdilər.
They taught in Judah, having the scroll of the law of the LORD with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
10 Yəhuda ətrafında olan bütün ölkələrin padşahlıqları üzərinə Rəbbin qorxusu düşdü və Yehoşafata qarşı müharibə etmədilər.
The fear of the LORD fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
11 Filiştlilərdən bəzisi Yehoşafata hədiyyə və xərac olaraq gümüş gətirdi. Ərəblər də ona qoyun-keçi – yeddi min yeddi yüz qoç və yeddi min yeddi yüz təkə gətirdi.
Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred male goats.
12 Yehoşafat get-gedə əzəmət qazandı. Yəhudada qalalar və anbar şəhərləri tikdi.
Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built in Judah fortresses and cities of store.
13 Yəhuda şəhərlərində çoxlu ehtiyatları vardı. Yerusəlimdə igid döyüşçülər olan əsgərləri vardı.
He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.
14 Nəsillərinə görə onların siyahısı bu idi: Yəhudadan minbaşılar: başçı Adna və onunla bərabər üç yüz min igid döyüşçü;
This was the numbering of them according to their fathers' houses: Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valor three hundred thousand;
15 onun yanında başçı Yehoxanan və onunla birgə iki yüz səksən min nəfər;
and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;
16 onun yanında könüllü olaraq Rəbbin işini boynuna götürən Zikri oğlu Amasya və onunla birgə iki yüz min igid döyüşçü;
and next to him Amasiah the son of Zikri, who willingly offered himself to the LORD; and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.
17 Binyamindən igid bir döyüşçü olan Elyada və onunla bərabər ox-kaman və qalxanla silahlanmış iki yüz min nəfər,
Of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
18 onun yanında Yehozavad və onunla döyüşə hazır olan yüz səksən min nəfər.
and next to him Jehozabad and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready prepared for war.
19 Bunlar padşahın bütün Yəhudadakı qalalı şəhərlərə qoyduğu döyüşçülərdən əlavə ona xidmət edənlər idi.
These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
