1 Şeytan İsraillilərə qarşı qalxdı və Davudu İsrailliləri siyahıya almağa təhrik etdi.
And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
2 Davud Yoava və xalqın başçılarına dedi: «Gedin, Beer-Şevadan Dana qədər İsrailliləri siyahıya alın və siyahını mənə gətirin ki, onların sayını bilim».
And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.
3 Yoav dedi: «Rəbb xalqını olduğundan yüz qat artıq etsin. Ancaq, ağam padşah, onların hamısı ağamın qulları deyilmi? Nə üçün ağam bunu istəyir? Nə üçün bu, İsrailə cəza gətirsin?»
And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why then does my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?
4 Lakin padşahın sözü Yoava üstün gəldi. Yoav çıxıb bütün İsraili dolaşdı və sonra Yerusəlimə gəldi.
Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
5 O, xalqın siyahısını Davuda verdi. Bütün İsraildə qılınc çəkən bir milyon yüz min nəfər, Yəhudada isə qılınc çəkən dörd yüz yetmiş min nəfər adam var idi.
And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.
6 Ancaq Yoav onların arasında Levililəri və Binyaminliləri siyahıya almadı, çünki padşahın sözündən acığı gəlmişdi.
But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among them: for the king's word was abominable to Joab.
7 Bu iş Allahın gözündə pis oldu və O, İsrailə cəza verdi.
And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he stroke Israel.
8 Davud Allaha dedi: «Bu işi görməklə böyük günah etdim. İndi isə, yalvarıram, bu qulunun təqsirindən keç, çünki çox ağılsızlıq etmişəm».
And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I plead to you, do away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.
9 Rəbb Davudun görücüsü Qada dedi:
And the LORD spoke unto Gad, David's seer, saying,
10 «Get, Davuda söylə ki, Rəbb belə deyir: “Sənə üç şey təklif edirəm, özün üçün bunların birini seç ki, sənə edim”».
Go and tell David, saying, Thus says the LORD, I offer you three things: choose you one of them, that I may do it unto you.
11 Qad Davudun yanına gəlib ona dedi: «Rəbb belə deyir: “Özün üçün seç:
So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Choose you
12 ya üç il aclıq olacaq ya üç ay düşmənlərin səni təqib edəcək və onların qılıncı səni vuracaq ya da üç gün Rəbbin qılıncı olan vəba ölkənin üzərinə gələcək və Rəbbin mələyi İsrailliləri hər yerdə qıracaq”. İndi qərar ver görək məni göndərənə nə cavab verim?»
Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before your foes, while that the sword of your enemies overtakes you; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise yourself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
13 Davud Qada dedi: «Mənim üçün çox çətindir. İnsan əlinə düşüncə qoy Rəbbin əlinə düşüm, çünki Onun rəhmi çox böyükdür».
And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.
14 Beləcə Rəbb İsrail üzərinə vəba göndərdi və İsraillilərdən yetmiş min nəfər həlak oldu.
So the LORD sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.
15 Allah Yerusəlimin əhalisini həlak etmək üçün bir mələk göndərdi. Mələk onları həlak edərkən Rəbb bunu görüb bu bəlaya görə təəssüfləndi və həlak edən mələyə dedi: «Bəsdir, əl saxla!» Rəbbin mələyi Yevuslu Ornanın xırmanının yanında dayandı.
And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now your hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
16 Davud başını qaldırıb Rəbbin mələyini gördü. Mələk əlindəki sıyrılmış qılıncı Yerusəlimin üzərinə uzadaraq yerlə göyün arasında dayanmışdı. Çula bürünən Davud və ağsaqqallar üzüstə yerə qapandı.
And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
17 Davud Allaha dedi: «Xalqı siyahıya almağı əmr edən mən deyildimmi? Mən günah etdim və həqiqətən, pis iş gördüm, bəs bu yazıq xalq nə edib? Ya Rəbb Allahım, qoy Sənin əlin mənim və ata nəslimin əleyhinə qalxsın, amma Öz xalqına vəba göndərmə».
And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let your hand, I pray you, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on your people, that they should be plagued.
18 Rəbbin mələyi Davuda söyləmək üçün Qada dedi: «Qoy Davud çıxıb Yevuslu Ornanın xırmanında Rəbbə bir qurbangah düzəltsin».
Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
19 Rəbbin adı ilə Qadın söylədiyi sözə görə Davud çıxdı.
And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the LORD.
20 Ornan geri dönüb mələyi gördü. Onunla birgə olan dörd oğlu gizləndi, Ornan isə yenə də buğda döyürdü.
And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
21 Davud Ornanın yanına gələndə Ornan baxıb Davudu gördü, xırmandan çıxdı və ona yerə qədər təzim etdi.
And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
22 Davud Ornana dedi: «Bu xırmanını mənə ver ki, burada Rəbb üçün qurbangah tikim, onu mənə tam dəyərinə sat. Beləcə xalqın üzərinə gələn vəba dayansın».
Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: you shall grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.
23 Ornan Davuda dedi: «Götür, havayı sənin olsun, ağam padşah gözündə xoş olanı etsin. Mən yandırma qurbanı olaraq öküzləri, odun yerinə vəlləri və taxıl təqdimi kimi buğdanı verirəm, bunların hamısını verirəm».
And Ornan said unto David, Take it to you, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give you the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the food offering; I give it all.
24 Padşah Davud Ornana dedi: «Yox, mütləq tam dəyərinə satın alacağam, çünki sənin malını Rəbb üçün götürmərəm, havayı malı yandırma qurbanı vermərəm».
And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is your for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.
25 Buna görə də Davud bu yer üçün Ornana çəkisi altı yüz şekel qızıl verdi.
So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.
26 Davud orada Rəbbə bir qurbangah düzəldib yandırma qurbanları və ünsiyyət qurbanları təqdim etdi. O, Rəbbi çağırdı, Rəbb də yandırma qurbanlarının gətirildiyi qurbangaha göydən od göndərib ona cavab verdi.
And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.
27 Rəbb mələyə əmr etdi, o da qılıncını qınına qoydu.
And the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into the sheath thereof.
28 Davud Yevuslu Ornanın xırmanında Rəbbin ona cavab verdiyini gördükdə orada qurban kəsdi.
At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.
29 Musanın səhrada düzəltdiyi Rəbbin məskəni və yandırma qurbanları üçün düzəldilən qurbangah o vaxt Giveondakı səcdəgahda idi.
For the tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt offering, were at that season in the high place at Gibeon.
30 Ancaq Davud Allahdan soruşmaq üçün Onun hüzuruna gedə bilmədi, çünki Rəbbin mələyinin qılıncından qorxurdu.
But David could not go before it to enquire of God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the LORD.
