1 ১ হে প্ৰভু, পুৰুষে পুৰুষে তুমিয়েই আমাৰ বাসস্থান হৈ আহিছা।

BOOK IV A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, Thou hast been our dwelling-place in all generations.

2 ২ পৰ্ব্বতবোৰ উৎপন্ন হোৱাৰ আগেয়ে, পৃথিৱী আৰু জগত সৃষ্টিৰ আগতে, অনাদি কালৰ পৰা অনন্ত কাল পর্যন্ত তুমিয়েই ঈশ্বৰ।

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God.

3 ৩ তুমি মানুহক ধূলিলৈ উভটাই লৈ যোৱা; তুমি কোৱা, “হে মনুষ্য সন্তান সকল উভটি যোৱা”।

Thou turnest man to contrition; and sayest: 'Return, ye children of men.'

4 ৪ তোমাৰ দৃষ্টিত হাজাৰ বছৰ যেন পাৰ হোৱা যোৱাকালিৰ নিচিনা; যেন ৰাতিৰ এক প্ৰহৰ মাত্র।

For a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

5 ৫ তুমি মানুহক ধলৰ দৰে উটুৱাই লৈ যোৱা, তেওঁলোক এটা সপোনৰ নিচিনা; যেন ৰাতিপুৱা নতুনকৈ ঠন ধৰি উঠা ঘাঁহৰ দৰে;

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

6 ৬ ৰাতি পুৱালেই সেয়ে গজি বাঢ়িবলৈ ধৰে; গধূলি বেলা সেয়ে শুকাই শেষ হৈ যায়।

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

7 ৭ তোমাৰ ক্ৰোধে আমাক গ্রাস কৰে, তোমাৰ কোপত আমি ব্যাকুল হওঁ।

For we are consumed in Thine anger, and by Thy wrath are we hurried away.

8 ৮ তুমি আমাৰ অপৰাধবোৰ তোমাৰ সন্মুখত থৈছা; তোমাৰ উপস্থিতিৰ পোহৰত আমাৰ গুপুত পাপবোৰ প্রকাশ পায়।

Thou hast set our iniquities before Thee, our secret sins in the light of Thy countenance.

9 ৯ তোমাৰ ভীষণ ক্ৰোধত আমাৰ দিনবোৰ হ্ৰাস হৈ যায়; নিশ্বাসৰ দৰেই আমাৰ আয়ুসৰ বছৰবোৰ শেষ হৈ যায়।

For all our days are passed away in Thy wrath; we bring our years to an end as a tale that is told.

10 ১০ আমাৰ আয়ুস মাত্র সত্তৰ বছৰ, হয়তো শক্তি থাকিলে, আশী বছৰো হ’ব পাৰে; তথাপিতো আমি শক্তি থকা বছৰবোৰত মাথোন দুখ আৰু ক্লেশ থাকে; বছৰবোৰ বেগাই ঢুকাই যায় আৰু আমিও পলকতে উড়ি যাওঁ।

The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength fourscore years; yet is their pride but travail and vanity; for it is speedily gone, and we fly away.

11 ১১ তোমাৰ ক্ৰোধৰ পৰাক্ৰম কোনে জানে? তোমাৰ ক্রোধ, তোমাৰ প্রাপ্য ভয়-ভক্তিৰ দৰেই মহান?

Who knoweth the power of Thine anger, and Thy wrath according to the fear that is due unto Thee?

12 ১২ সেয়ে আমাৰ আয়ুসৰ কাল গণনা কৰিবলৈ তুমি আমাক শিকোৱা; যাতে আমি প্রজ্ঞাৰ চিত্ত লাভ কৰিব পাৰোঁ।

So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom.

13 ১৩ হে যিহোৱা, আৰু কিমান কাল? তুমি ঘূৰি আহাঁ! তোমাৰ দাসবোৰৰ প্রতি সদয় হোৱা।

Return, O LORD; how long? And let it repent Thee concerning Thy servants.

14 ১৪ পুৱাতে তোমাৰ গভীৰ প্রেমেৰে আমাক তৃপ্ত কৰা, যেন আয়ুস থাকেমানে গোটেই জীৱনত আমি আনন্দ আৰু উল্লাস কৰিব পাৰোঁ।

O satisfy us in the morning with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 ১৫ যিমান দিন ধৰি তুমি আমাক দুখ দিলা আৰু, যিমান বছৰ আমি কষ্ট দেখিলোঁ, সেই অনুসাৰেই তুমি আমাক আনন্দিত কৰা।

Make us glad according to the days wherein Thou hast afflicted us, according to the years wherein we have seen evil.

16 ১৬ তোমাৰ দাসবোৰৰ আগত তোমাৰ কৰ্ম, আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ সন্তান সকলৰ ওপৰত তোমাৰ গৌৰৱ প্ৰকাশিত হওক।

Let Thy work appear unto Thy servants, and Thy glory upon their children.

17 ১৭ আমাৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ দয়া আমাৰ ওপৰত থাকক; তুমি আমাৰ হাতৰ সকলো কার্য সফল কৰা; হয়, আমাৰ হাতৰ সকলো কামত তুমি সফলতা দান কৰা।

And let the graciousness of the Lord our God be upon us; establish Thou also upon us the work of our hands; yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it.
