1 ১ সেই সময়ত বিন্যামীন ফৈদত এজন প্ৰভাৱশালী ব্যক্তি আছিল, তেওঁৰ নাম আছিল কীচ, তেওঁ অবীয়েলৰ পুত্ৰ, অবীয়েল জেৰৰ পুত্ৰ, জেৰৰ বখোৰতৰ পুত্ৰ, বাখোৰত আফিয়াৰ পুত্ৰ আছিল, এওঁলোক বিন্যামীন ফৈদৰ লোক আছিল।
Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Becorath, the son of Aphiah, the son of a Benjamite, a mighty man of valor.
2 ২ কীচৰ এজন সুদৰ্শন পুত্ৰ আছিল, তেওঁৰ নাম আছিল চৌল, ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকলৰ মাজত তেওঁতকৈ সুদৰ্শন কোনো পুৰুষ নাছিল আৰু আন সকলো লোকতকৈ তেওঁ ওখ আছিল।
He had a son, whose name was Saul, a handsome young man; and there was no one among the children of Israel more handsome than he was. From his shoulders and upward he was taller than any of the people.
3 ৩ এদিন চৌলৰ পিতৃ কীচৰ গাধবোৰ হেৰাল। তেতিয়া কীচে নিজ পুত্ৰ চৌলক ক’লে, “তুমি দাস সকলৰ মাজৰ এজনক লগত লৈ গাধবোৰ বিচাৰি যোৱা।”
Now the donkeys of Kish, Saul's father, were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, "Take now one of the servants with you, and arise, go and look for the donkeys." So Saul got up and took one of the servants of his father with him and went to look for the donkeys of his father Kish.
4 ৪ সেয়ে চৌলে পাহাৰীয়া দেশ ইফ্ৰয়িমৰ মাজেৰে পাৰ হৈ চালিচা প্ৰদেশৰ মাজেৰে গ’ল; কিন্তু গাধবোৰ তাত নাছিল। তাৰ পাছত তেওঁলোকে চালীম প্ৰদেশৰ মাজেৰে গ’ল, কিন্তু তাতো নাছিল, তাৰ পাছত বিন্যামীন প্ৰদেশৰ মাজেৰে গ’ল, কিন্তু তেওঁলোকে তাতো বিচাৰি নাপালে।
He passed through the hill country of Ephraim and passed through the land of Shalishah, but they did not find them. Then they passed through the land of Shaalim, but they weren't there. Then he passed through the land of the Jaminites, but they did not find them.
5 ৫ যেতিয়া তেওঁলোক চুফ প্ৰদেশ পালে, চৌলে নিজৰ লগত যোৱা দাসক ক’লে, “আহাঁ, আমি উভটি যাওঁ, হয়তো মোৰ পিতৃয়ে গাধবোৰৰ চিন্তা কৰিবলৈ বাদ দি আমাৰ বাবেহে চিন্তা কৰিবলৈ আৰম্ভ কৰিব।”
When they had come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, "Come, and let us return, lest my father stop caring about the donkeys, and be anxious for us."
6 ৬ কিন্তু দাস জনে তেওঁক ক’লে, “শুনক! এই নগৰত ঈশ্বৰ বিশ্বাসী এজন লোক আছে; তেওঁ সন্মানীয় ব্যক্তি, তেওঁ যি যি কয়, সকলো সিদ্ধ হয়; এতেকে আহক আমি এতিয়া সেই ঠাইলৈ যাওঁ; হয়তো আমি কোনবাটে যাব লাগে তেওঁ জনাব পাৰিব।”
He said to him, "See now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is a man who is held in honor. All that he says surely comes to pass. Now let us go there. Perhaps he can tell us concerning our journey on which we have set out."
7 ৭ তেতিয়া চৌলে তেওঁৰ দাসক ক’লে, “কিন্তু আমি যদি যাওঁ, তেন্তে সেই লোকৰ ওচৰলৈ কি লৈ যাম? কিয়নো আমাৰ পাত্ৰৰ পিঠা শেষ হ’ল; ঈশ্বৰৰ লোকৰ ওচৰলৈ উপহাৰস্বৰূপে আমি কি লৈ যাম? আমাৰ লগত কি আছে?”
Then Saul said to his servant, "But look, if we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread is gone in our vessels, and there is no gift to bring to the man of God. What do we have?"
8 ৮ তাতে দাস জনে চৌলক উত্তৰ দি ক’লে, “এয়া চাওকচোন, মোৰ হাতত এক চেকল ৰূপৰ চতুৰ্থ ভাগৰ এভাগ আছে; আমি কোন বাটে যাব লাগে, সেই কথা জনাবৰ কাৰণে মই ঈশ্বৰৰ লোকজনক ইয়াকে দিম।”
The servant answered Saul again, and said, "Look, I have in my hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver. I will give that to the man of God, to tell us our way."
9 ৯ (আগৰ সময়ত ইস্ৰায়েলত, যেতিয়া এজন লোকে ঈশ্বৰৰ ইচ্ছা কি জানিব বিচাৰে, তেওঁ কয়, “আহাঁ, আমি ভাববাদীৰ ওচৰলৈ যাওঁ”।’ কাৰণ বৰ্তমানত যাক ভবিষ্যত বক্তা বোলা হয়, আগৰ সময়ত তেওঁক ভাববাদী বোলা হৈছিল)।
(In earlier times in Israel, whenever someone went to inquire of God, he would say, "Come, and let us go to the seer"; for he who is now called a prophet was formerly called a seer.)
10 ১০ তেতিয়া চৌলে নিজৰ দাসক ক’লে, “ঠিকেই কৈছা; ব’লা আমি যাওঁহক।” তাৰ পাছত তেওঁলোকে ঈশ্বৰৰ লোক য’ত আছিল সেই নগৰলৈ গ’ল।
Then Saul said to his servant, "Well said. Come, let us go." So they went to the city where the man of God was.
11 ১১ তেওঁলোকে নগৰৰ পাহাৰেদি উঠি যাওঁতে, পানী তুলিবলৈ অহা কেইগৰাকীমান যুৱতীক লগ পালে; তেওঁলোকক চৌল আৰু তেওঁৰ দাসে সুধিলে, “ইয়াত ভাববাদী আছেনে?”
As they went up the ascent to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said to them, "Is the seer here?"
12 ১২ তেওঁলোকে উত্তৰ দি ক’লে, “তেওঁ আছে; চাওক, আপোনাৰ ঠিক সন্মুখতে আছে, সোনকাল কৰক, তেওঁ নগৰলৈ আজি আহিছে, কাৰণ আজি ওখ স্থানত লোকসকলে বলিদান কৰিব।
They answered them, and said, "He is. Look, he is ahead of you. Hurry now, for he has come today into the city; for the people have a sacrifice today in the high place.
13 ১৩ সেয়ে তেওঁ ওখ স্থানলৈ ভোজন কৰিবলৈ যোৱাৰ পূৰ্বে আপোনালোকে নগৰত সোমায়ে তেওঁক বিচাৰি পাব। কিয়নো তেওঁ গৈ নোপোৱালৈকে, লোকসকলে ভোজন নকৰে, কাৰণ তেওঁ বলিদানত আশীৰ্ব্বাদ কৰাৰ পাছতহে নিমন্ত্ৰিত সকলে ভোজন কৰিব। এতেকে আপোনালোক এতিয়াই যাওক; তেতিয়াহে তেওঁক লগ পাব।”
As soon as you have come into the city, you shall immediately find him, before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people will not eat until he comes, because he blesses the sacrifice; afterward those who are invited eat. Now therefore go up; for at this time you shall find him."
14 ১৪ সেয়ে তেওঁলোক নগৰলৈ গ’ল। তেওঁলোক নগৰত সোমাওঁতেই দেখিলে যে, চমূৱেলে ওখ স্থানলৈ যাবৰ উদ্দেশে তেওঁলোকৰ ফালে আহি আছে।
They went up to the city. As they came within the city, look, Samuel came out toward them, to go up to the high place.
Now the LORD had revealed to Samuel a day before Saul came, saying,
16 ১৬ “কাইলৈ এনে সময়তে মই বিন্যামীন প্ৰদেশৰ পৰা এজন মানুহ তোমাৰ ওচৰলৈ পঠাম; তেওঁক মোৰ প্ৰজা ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত অধিপতি হ’বলৈ তুমি তেওঁক অভিষেক কৰিবা, তাতে তেওঁ মোৰ প্ৰজাক পলেষ্টীয়াসকলৰ হাতৰ পৰা উদ্ধাৰ কৰিব; কিয়নো, মোৰ প্ৰজাসকলৰ কাতৰোক্তিৰ শব্দ মোৰ কাণত পৰাত, মই তেওঁলোকলৈ দৃষ্টি কৰিলোঁ।”
"Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be prince over my people Israel; and he shall save my people out of the hand of the Philistines; for I have seen the suffering of my people, because their cry has come to me."
17 ১৭ যেতিয়া চমূৱেলে চৌলক দেখা পালে, যিহোৱাই তেওঁক ক’লে, “যাৰ বিষয়ে মই তোমাক কৈছিলোঁ, এইজনেই সেই ব্যক্তি; তেৱেঁই মোৰ প্ৰজাসকলৰ ওপৰত শাসন কৰিব।”
When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, "Look, the man of whom I spoke to you. This one shall have authority over my people."
Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, "Please tell me where the seer's house is."
19 ১৯ চমূৱেলে চৌলক উত্তৰ দি ক’লে, “ময়েই সেই ভাববাদী, মই ওখ স্থানলৈ যোৱাৰ পূৰ্বে তুমি তালৈ যোৱা, কাৰণ তুমি আজি মোৰ লগত ভোজন কৰিবা, কাইলৈ ৰাতিপুৱা মই তোমাক যাবলৈ দিম আৰু তোমাৰ মনৰ সকলো কথা মই তোমাক জনাম।
And Samuel answered Saul, and said, "I am he. Go up before me to the high place, for you will eat with me today. In the morning I will let you go, and will tell you all that is in your heart.
20 ২০ আজি তিন দিন পূৰ্বে, তোমাৰ যি গাধবোৰ হেৰাইছিল, সেইবোৰৰ কাৰণে চিন্তা নকৰিবা; কিয়নো সেইবোৰ পোৱা যাব আৰু যাৰ কাৰণে ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সকলো ইচ্ছা জড়িত হৈ আছে; সেয়ে জানো তোমাৰ আৰু তোমাৰ সমূদায় পিতৃ-বংশৰ নহয়?”
As for your donkeys who were lost three days ago, do not set your mind on them; for they have been found. And for whom does all Israel desire? Is it not for you, and for all your father's house?"
21 ২১ চৌলে উত্তৰ দি ক’লে, “ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সকলোতকৈ সৰু ফৈদ বিন্যামীন ফৈদৰ মই নহয় নে? আৰু বিন্যামীন ফৈদৰ আটাই গোষ্ঠীবিলাকৰ মাজত মোৰ গোষ্ঠী সকলোতকৈ সৰু নহয় নে? তেনেহ’লে আপুনি মোৰ আগত এই দৰে কিয় কৈছে?”
Saul answered, "Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? And my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? Why then do you speak to me like this?"
22 ২২ তাৰ পাছত চমূৱেলে চৌলক আৰু তেওঁৰ দাসক ভোজনৰ কোঁঠালিটোলৈ লৈ গ’ল; আৰু ত্ৰিশ জনমান নিমন্ত্ৰিত অতিথিৰ সৈতে প্ৰধান ঠাইত বহুৱালে।
Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the guest room, and made them sit in the best place among those who were invited, who were about thirty persons.
And Samuel said to the cook, "Bring the portion which I gave you, of which I told you to set aside."
24 ২৪ তাৰ পাছত ৰান্ধনীয়ে বলিদান দিয়া পিছ ভৰিৰ কৰঙণ আৰু তাৰ ওপৰত যি সকলো আছিল, সেইখিনি আনি চৌলৰ আগত থলে। তেতিয়া চমূৱেলে ক’লে, “চোৱা, তোমাৰ কাৰণে যি ৰখা হৈছিল! তাক ভোজন কৰা, কাৰণ নিৰূপিত সময়লৈকে তোমাৰ বাবে ইয়াক ৰখা হৈছিল। সেয়ে অতিথিসকলৰ সৈতে তুমি ভোজন কৰা।” চৌলে সেই দিনা চমূৱেলৰ লগত ভোজন কৰিলে।
The cook picked up the leg, and that which was attached to it, and set it before Saul. And he said, "Look, here is what has been kept for you. Set it before you and eat, because it was kept especially for you until the right time; because I said, 'I have invited the people.'" So Saul ate with Samuel that day.
25 ২৫ যেতিয়া তেওঁলোক ওখ স্থানৰ পৰা নগৰলৈ নামি আহিল, তেতিয়া চমূৱেলে ঘৰৰ চালৰ ওপৰত চৌলৰ লগত কথোপকথন কৰিলে।
When they had come down from the high place into the city, they prepared a bed for Saul on the roof,
26 ২৬ ৰাতিপুৱাতে চমূৱেলে চৌলক ঘৰৰ চালৰ ওপৰলৈ মাতি ক’লে, “উঠা, যাতে মই তোমাক তোমাৰ বাটে পঠিয়াব পাৰোঁ;” সেয়ে চৌল উঠিল আৰু চমূৱেলৰ সৈতে দুয়োজন বাটলৈ ওলাই গ’ল।
and he slept. And it happened about daybreak that Samuel called to Saul on the roof, saying, "Get up, that I may send you away." So Saul arose, and they went out, both of them, he and Samuel, outside.
27 ২৭ তাৰ পাছত নগৰৰ বাহিৰলৈ যোৱাত, চমূৱেলে চৌলক ক’লে, “তোমাৰ দাসক আমাৰ আগে আগে যাবলৈ কোৱা, তাতে দাস আগ হৈ গ’ল কিন্তু তুমি অলপ সময় ইয়াতে ৰৈ থাকা, যাতে মই তোমাক ঈশ্বৰৰ বাক্য শুনাব পাৰোঁ।”
As they were going down at the edge of the city, Samuel said to Saul, "Tell the servant that he should pass on before us and cross over. But you remain here awhile, that I may make known to you the word of God."
