And an adversary up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.
2 ২ দায়ূদে যোৱাবক আৰু সৈন্যৰ অধিকাৰী সকলক ক’লে, “যোৱা, তোমালোকে বেৰ-চেবাৰ পৰা দানলৈকে ইস্ৰায়েল লোকসকলক গণনা কৰা আৰু ঘূৰি আহি মোক বিৱৰণ দিবা, যাতে মই তেওঁলোকৰ সংখ্যা জানিব পাৰোঁ।”
And David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people, "Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know the sum of them."
3 ৩ যোৱাবে ক’লে, “যিহোৱাই তেওঁৰ সৈন্যসকলক এতিয়া যিমান আছে তাতকৈ এশ গুণ অধিক বৃদ্ধি কৰক। কিন্তু হে মোৰ প্ৰভু মহাৰাজ, তেওঁলোক সকলোৱে জানো মোৰ প্ৰভুৰ পৰিচৰ্যা নকৰে? কিয় মোৰ প্ৰভুৱে এইদৰে বিচাৰিছে? কিয় ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত দোষ কঢ়িয়াই আনিছে?”
Joab said, "May the LORD make his people a hundred times as many as they are. But, my lord the king, aren't they all my lord's servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel?"
4 ৪ কিন্তু ৰজাৰ বাক্য যোৱাবৰ বিৰুদ্ধে চুড়ান্ত আছিল, সেয়ে যোৱাব সেই ঠাই এৰি ইস্ৰায়েলৰ চাৰিওদিশে ফুৰিলে আৰু যিৰূচালেমলৈ উভতি আহিল।
Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Therefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
5 ৫ তাৰ পাছত যোৱাবে যুদ্ধাৰু সকলৰ সম্পূৰ্ণ সংখ্যা দায়ূদৰ আগত দিলে। তাত ইস্ৰায়েলৰ মাজত এঘাৰ লাখ তৰোৱাল ধৰোঁতা লোক আছিল। যিহূদাৰ অকলেই চাৰি লাখ সত্তৰ হাজাৰ সৈন্য আছিল।
Joab gave up the sum of the numbering of the people to David. All those of Israel were one million one hundred thousand men who drew sword: and in Judah were four hundred seventy thousand men who drew sword.
But he did not count Levi and Benjamin among them; for the king's word was abominable to Joab.
God was displeased with this thing; therefore he struck Israel.
8 ৮ দায়ূদে ঈশ্ৱৰক ক’লে, “এই কৰ্ম কৰাৰ যোগেদি মই মহা পাপ কৰিলোঁ। এতিয়া আপোনাৰ দাসৰ অপৰাধ ক্ষমা কৰক, কিয়নো মই অতিশয় অজ্ঞানৰ দৰে কৰ্ম কৰিলোঁ।”
David said to God, "I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing. But now, put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly."
The LORD spoke to Gad, David's seer, saying,
10 ১০ “যোৱা দায়ূদক গৈ কোৱা: ‘যিহোৱাই এই কথা কৈছে: “মই তোমাক নিৰ্বাচন কৰিবলৈ তিনিটা সুযোগ দিছোঁ। তাৰ মাজত এটা বাচি লোৱা।””
"Go and speak to David, saying, 'Thus says the LORD, "I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you."'"
11 ১১ সেয়ে গাদে দায়ূদৰ ওচৰলৈ গ’ল আৰু তেওঁক ক’লে, “যিহোৱাই এই কথা কৈছে: ‘ইয়াৰ ভিতৰত এটা নিৰ্বাচন কৰা:
So Gad came to David, and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Take your choice:
12 ১২ নাইবা তিনি বছৰ আকাল হ’ব, বা তিনি মাহলৈকে শত্ৰুবোৰৰ তৰোৱাল আপোনাৰ দেশত ব্যাপ্ত হৈ আপোনাক অত্যাচাৰ কৰিব, বা তিনি দিনলৈকে যিহোৱাৰ তৰোৱাল, অৰ্থাৎ দেশত মহামাৰীৰ লগত ইস্ৰায়েল দেশৰ সীমাত সংহাৰ কৰোঁতা যিহোৱাৰ দূতে ভ্ৰমণ কৰিব।’ এই হেতুকে যিজন সৰ্ব্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বৰে মোক পঠালে, তেওঁক কি উত্তৰ দিম, তাক এতিয়া বিবেচনা কৰি চাওক।”
either three years of famine; or three months of fleeing from before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even pestilence in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the borders of Israel. Now therefore consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.'"
13 ১৩ দায়ূদে গাদক ক’লে, “মই বৰ বিপদত পৰিছোঁ, মোক যিহোৱাৰ হাতত দিয়ক, কিয়নো তেওঁৰ দয়া প্ৰচুৰ, কিন্তু মোক মানুহৰ হাতত নিদিব।”
David said to Gad, "I am in distress. Let me fall, I pray, into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are very great. Let me not fall into the hand of man."
So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel; and seventy thousand men of Israel fell.
15 ১৫ ঈশ্বৰে যিৰূচালেমক ধংস কৰিবলৈ এজন দূত তালৈ পঠালে। যেতিয়া তেওঁ ধংস কৰিবলৈ ল’লে, তেতিয়া যিহোৱাই সেই অনিষ্টৰ বিষয়ে চিন্তা কৰি নিজৰ মন সলনি কৰিলে, আৰু তেওঁ ধ্বংসকাৰী দূতক কলে, “এয়ে জুৰিছে, এতিয়া তোমাৰ হাত কোঁচোৱা।” সেই সময়ত যিহোৱাৰ দূত যিবুচীয়াৰ অৰ্ণনৰ মৰণা মৰা ঠাইত থিয় হৈ আছিল।
God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As he was about to destroy, the LORD saw, and he relented of the disaster, and said to the destroying angel, "It is enough; now stay your hand." The angel of the LORD was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
16 ১৬ দায়ূদে ওপৰলৈ চাই দেখিলে যে, যিহোৱাৰ দূত পৃথিৱী আৰু আকাশৰ মাজত থিয় হৈ আছে, আৰু যিৰূচালেমৰ ওপৰলৈ হাতত এখন খোলা তৰোৱাল দাঙি ধৰি আছিল। তেতিয়া দায়ূদে আৰু বৃদ্ধ লোকসকলে চট কাপোৰ পিন্ধি মাটিত মুখতল কৰি পৰিল।
David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD standing between earth and the sky, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.
17 ১৭ দায়ূদে ঈশ্বৰক ক’লে, “যি জনে লোকসকলক গণনা কৰিবলৈ আজ্ঞা দিলে, সেই জন জানো মই নহওঁ? মই এই পাপ কৰ্ম কৰিলোঁ, কিন্তু এই মেৰবিলাকে কি কৰিলে? হে মোৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱা, বিনয় কৰোঁ, আপোনাৰ হাতেৰে মোক আৰু মোৰ পৰিয়ালক শাস্তি দিয়ক, কিন্তু আপোনাৰ লোকসকলক মহামাৰীৰে শাস্তি নিদিব।”
David said to God, "Isn't it I who commanded the people to be numbered? It is even I who have sinned and done very wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O LORD my God, be against me, and against my father's house; but not against your people, that they should be plagued."
18 ১৮ সেয়ে যিহোৱাৰ দূতে দায়ূদক যিবুচীয়াৰ অৰ্ণনৰ মৰণা মৰা ঠাইত যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশে এটা যজ্ঞবেদী স্থাপন কৰিবৰ অৰ্থে আজ্ঞা দিবলৈ গাদক ক’লে।
Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to tell David that David should go up, and raise an altar to the LORD in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the LORD.
20 ২০ যেতিয়া অৰ্ণনে ঘেঁহু মৰণা মাৰি আছিল, তেতিয়া তেওঁ পাছফাললৈ ঘূৰি দূতক দেখিলে। তেওঁ আৰু তেওঁৰ চাৰিজন পুত্রই নিজকে লুকুৱালে।
Ornan turned back, and saw the king, and his four sons who were with him hiding themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
21 ২১ দায়ূদে অৰ্ণনৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিলে, আৰু অৰ্ণনে দায়ূদক দেখা পালে। তেওঁ মৰণা মৰা ঠাই পৰা আহি দায়ূদৰ আগত মাটিত মুখ লগাই প্ৰণিপাত কৰিলে।
As David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
22 ২২ তেতিয়া দায়ূদে অৰ্ণনক ক’লে, “তুমি মৰণা মৰা এই ঠাইডোখৰ মোক দিয়া, যাতে মই এই ঠাইতে যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশে এটা যজ্ঞবেদী নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰিব পাৰোঁ। মই ইয়াৰ সম্পূৰ্ণ দাম দিম, যাতে লোকসকলৰ মাজৰ পৰা মহামাৰী দূৰ হয়।
Then David said to Ornan, "Give me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build thereon an altar to the LORD. You shall sell it to me for the full price, that the plague may be stopped from afflicting the people."
23 ২৩ অৰ্ণনে দায়ূদক ক’লে, “প্ৰভু মহাৰাজ আপোনাৰ নিজৰ নিচিনাকৈ ইয়াক লওক। আপোনাৰ দৃষ্টিত যি ভাল দেখে, তাকেই কৰক। চাওক, মই হোম-বলিৰ অৰ্থে ষাঁড়-গৰু, খৰিৰ অৰ্থে মৰণা মৰা যন্ত্ৰ, আৰু নৈবেদ্যৰ অৰ্থে ঘেঁহু; এই সকলো মই আপোনাৰ বাবে দিম।”
Ornan said to David, "Take it for yourself, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes. Look, I give the oxen for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meal offering. I give it all."
24 ২৪ দায়ুদ ৰজাই অৰ্ণনক ক’লে, “নহয়, মই সম্পূৰ্ণ মূল্য দিহে কিনি ল’ম। যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশে হোম-বলি উৎসৰ্গ কৰিব খোজা তোমাৰ যি আছে বিনামূল্যে মই নলওঁ।”
King David said to Ornan, "No; but I will most certainly buy it for the full price. For I will not take that which is yours for the LORD, nor offer a burnt offering without cost."
So David gave to Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place.
26 ২৬ দায়ূদে সেই ঠাইত যিহোৱাৰ উদ্দেশে এটা যজ্ঞবেদী নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰি, হোম-বলি আৰু মঙ্গলাৰ্থক বলি উৎসৰ্গ কৰিলে। তেওঁ যিহোৱাৰ ওচৰত প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰিলে, তাতে তেওঁ আকাশৰ পৰা হোম-বেদিত অগ্নি পেলাই তেওঁক উত্তৰ দিলে।
David built an altar to the LORD there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering, and it consumed the burnt offering.
The LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into its sheath.
28 ২৮ দায়ূদে যেতিয়া যিহোৱাই যিবুচীয়া অৰ্ণনৰ মৰণা মৰা ঠাইত উত্তৰ দিয়া দেখিলে, তেতিয়া তেওঁ সেই সময়তে সেই ঠাইত বলিদান দিলে।
At that time, when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.
29 ২৯ সেই সময়ত, মোচিয়ে মৰুপ্রান্তত নিৰ্ম্মাণ কৰা যিহোৱাৰ আবাস, আৰু হোম-বলিৰ বাবে যজ্ঞবেদি, গিবিয়োনৰ ওখ ঠাইত আছিল।
For the tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering, were at that time in the high place at Gibeon.
30 ৩০ অৱশ্যে দায়ূদে ঈশ্বৰৰ পৰামৰ্শ লবলৈ তেওঁৰ আগলৈ যাব নোৱাৰিছিল; কাৰণ যিহোৱাৰ দূতৰ তৰোৱাললৈ তেওঁ ভয় কৰিছিল।
But David couldn't go before it to inquire of God; for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the LORD.
