| ܠܐ ܢܬܕܘܕ ܠܒܟܘܢ ܗܝܡܢܘ ܒܐܠܗܐ ܘܒܝ ܗܝܡܢܘ | 1 |
Let not your heart be troubled: all of you believe in God, believe also in me.
| ܤܓܝܐܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܘܢܐ ܒܝܬ ܐܒܝ ܘܐܠܐ ܐܡܪ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܙܠ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܛܝܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܬܪܐ | 2 |
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
| ܘܐܢ ܐܙܠ ܐܛܝܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܬܘܒ ܐܬܐ ܘܐܕܒܪܟܘܢ ܠܘܬܝ ܕܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܝܬܝ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܗܘܘܢ | 3 |
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there all of you may be also.
| ܘܠܐܝܟܐ ܕܐܙܠ ܐܢܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ | 4 |
And where I go all of you know, and the way all of you know.
| ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܬܐܘܡܐ ܡܪܢ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܠܐܝܟܐ ܐܙܠ ܐܢܬ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܠܡܕܥ | 5 |
Thomas says unto him, Lord, we know not where you go; and how can we know the way?
| ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܫܪܪܐ ܘܚܝܐ ܠܐ ܐܢܫ ܐܬܐ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܝ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܒܝ | 6 |
Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
| ܐܠܘ ܠܝ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܠܐܒܝ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܗܫܐ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܗ ܘܚܙܝܬܘܢܝܗܝ | 7 |
If all of you had known me, all of you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth all of you know him, and have seen him.
| ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܦܝܠܝܦܘܤ ܡܪܢ ܚܘܢ ܐܒܐ ܘܟܕܘ ܠܢ | 8 |
Philip says unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it satisfies us.
| ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܫܘܥ ܗܢܐ ܟܠܗ ܙܒܢܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܐܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܬܢܝ ܦܝܠܝܦܐ ܡܢ ܕܠܝ ܚܙܐ ܚܙܐ ܠܐܒܐ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܢܬ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܬ ܚܘܢ ܐܒܐ | 9 |
Jesus says unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father?
| ܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܐܢܬ ܕܐܢܐ ܒܐܒܝ ܘܐܒܝ ܒܝ ܡܠܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܢܐ ܡܢ ܢܦܫܝ ܠܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܢܐ ܐܒܝ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܝ ܥܡܪ ܗܘ ܥܒܕ ܥܒܕܐ ܗܠܝܢ | 10 |
Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the (rhema) words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.
| ܗܝܡܢܘ ܕܐܢܐ ܒܐܒܝ ܘܐܒܝ ܒܝ ܘܐܠܐ ܐܦܢ ܡܛܠ ܥܒܕܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ | 11 |
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
| ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܒܝ ܥܒܕܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܐܦ ܗܘ ܢܥܒܕ ܘܕܝܬܝܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܢܥܒܕ ܕܐܢܐ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܐ ܐܙܠ ܐܢܐ | 12 |
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
| ܘܡܕܡ ܕܬܫܐܠܘܢ ܒܫܡܝ ܐܥܒܕ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܢܫܬܒܚ ܐܒܐ ܒܒܪܗ | 13 |
And whatsoever all of you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
| ܘܐܢ ܬܫܐܠܘܢܢܝ ܒܫܡܝ ܐܢܐ ܥܒܕܢܐ | 14 |
If all of you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
| ܐܢ ܪܚܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܦܘܩܕܢܝ ܛܪܘ | 15 |
If all of you love me, keep my commandments.
| ܘܐܢܐ ܐܒܥܐ ܡܢ ܐܒܝ ܘܐܚܪܢܐ ܦܪܩܠܛܐ ܢܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܠܥܠܡ (aiōn g165) | 16 |
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (aiōn g165)
| ܪܘܚܐ ܕܫܪܪܐ ܗܘ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܠܡܩܒܠܘܬܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܚܙܝܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܗ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܗ ܕܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܥܡܪ ܘܒܟܘܢ ܗܘ | 17 |
Even the Spirit (pneuma) of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but all of you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.
| ܠܐ ܫܒܩ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܝܬܡܐ ܐܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܩܠܝܠ ܐܚܪܝܢ | 18 |
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
| ܘܥܠܡܐ ܠܐ ܚܙܐ ܠܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܢ ܬܚܙܘܢܢܝ ܕܐܢܐ ܚܝ ܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܚܘܢ | 19 |
Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but all of you see me: because I live, all of you shall live also.
| ܒܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܒܐܒܝ ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܐܢܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܐܢܐ | 20 |
At that day all of you shall know that I am in my Father, and all of you in me, and I in you.
| ܡܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܘܬܗ ܦܘܩܕܢܝ ܘܢܛܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܘ ܗܘ ܡܚܒ ܠܝ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܪܚܡ ܠܝ ܢܬܪܚܡ ܡܢ ܐܒܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܪܚܡܝܘܗܝ ܘܐܚܘܝܘܗܝ ܢܦܫܝ | 21 |
He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
| ܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܤܟܪܝܘܛܐ ܡܪܝ ܡܢܘ ܠܢ ܥܬܝܕ ܐܢܬ ܠܡܚܘܝܘ ܢܦܫܟ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܥܠܡܐ | 22 |
Judas says unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself unto us, and not unto the world?
| ܥܢܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܡܢ ܕܪܚܡ ܠܝ ܡܠܬܝ ܢܛܪ ܘܐܒܝ ܢܪܚܡܝܘܗܝ ܘܠܘܬܗ ܐܬܝܢ ܚܢܢ ܘܐܘܢܐ ܠܘܬܗ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܚܢܢ | 23 |
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: (logos) and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܪܚܡ ܠܝ ܡܠܬܝ ܠܐ ܢܛܪ ܘܡܠܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܕܫܡܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܬ ܕܝܠܝ ܐܠܐ ܕܐܒܐ ܕܫܕܪܢܝ | 24 |
He that loves me not keeps not my sayings: (logos) and the word (logos) which all of you hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
| ܗܠܝܢ ܡܠܠܬ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܟܕ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܝܬܝ | 25 |
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
| ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܦܪܩܠܛܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܫܕܪ ܐܒܝ ܒܫܡܝ ܗܘ ܢܠܦܟܘܢ ܟܠܡܕܡ ܘܗܘ ܢܥܗܕܟܘܢ ܟܠ ܡܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ | 26 |
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, (pneuma) whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
| ܫܠܡܐ ܫܒܩ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܫܠܡܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܝܗܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܥܠܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܝܗܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܢܬܕܘܕ ܠܒܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܕܚܠ | 27 |
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
| ܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܐܙܠ ܐܢܐ ܘܐܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܠܘ ܪܚܡܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܠܝ ܚܕܝܢ ܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܕܐܙܠ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬ ܐܒܝ ܕܐܒܝ ܪܒ ܗܘ ܡܢܝ | 28 |
All of you have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If all of you loved me, all of you would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
| ܘܗܫܐ ܗܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܕܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܕܡܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ | 29 |
And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it has come to pass, all of you might believe.
| ܡܟܝܠ ܠܐ ܐܡܠܠ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܤܓܝܐܬܐ ܐܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܐܪܟܘܢܗ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܘܒܝ ܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܡܕܡ | 30 |
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in me.
| ܐܠܐ ܕܢܕܥ ܥܠܡܐ ܕܪܚܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܒܝ ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܦܩܕܢܝ ܐܒܝ ܗܟܘܬ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܩܘܡܘ ܢܐܙܠ ܡܟܐ | 31 |
But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go behind.
