المَزامِير 83

١ 1 يَااللهُ لاَ تَصْمُتْ. لاَ تَسْكُتْ وَلاَ تَهْدَأْ يَااللهُ.

God, don’t keep silent. Don’t keep silent, and don’t be still, God.

٢ 2 هُوَذا أَعْدَاؤُكَ ثَائِرُونَ، وَمُبْغِضُوكَ يَشْمَخُونَ بِرُؤُوسِهِمْ.

For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.

٣ 3 يَتَآمَرُونَ بِالْمَكْرِ عَلَى شَعْبِكَ، وَيَكِيدُونَ لِلإِيقَاعِ بِمَنْ تَحْمِيهِمْ.

They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.

٤ 4 يَقُولُونَ: «هَلُمَّ نَسْتَأْصِلْهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأُمَمِ، فَلاَ يُذْكَرَ اسْمُ إِسْرَائِيلَ فِيمَا بَعْدُ».

“Come,” they say, “let’s destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel [God prevails] may be remembered no more.”

٥ 5 فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ تَآمَرُوا مَعاً بِقَلْبٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَعَقَدُوا حِلْفاً ضِدَّكَ.

For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you.

٦ 6 عَشَائِرُ أَدُومَ وَبَنُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ، نَسْلُ مُوآبَ وَبَنُو هَاجَرَ.

The tents of Edom [Red] and the Ishmaelites [Pays attention God]; Moab [From father], and the Hagrites;

٧ 7 جِبَالُ وَعَمُّونُ وَعَمَالِيقُ، الفَلَسْطِينِيُّونَ وَأَهْلُ صُورَ،

Gebal, Ammon [Tribal people], and Amalek [Man who licks up]; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

٨ 8 وَقَوْمُ أَشُّورَ أَيْضاً انْضَمُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ، صَارُوا عَوْناً لِبَنِي لُوطٍ.

Assyria [Level plain] also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot [Veil, Covering]. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.

٩ 9 افْعَلْ بِهِمْ كَمَا فَعَلْتَ بِمِدْيَانَ وَسِيسَرَا وَيَابِينَ فِي نَهْرِ قِيشُونَ.

Do to them as you did to Midian [Strife], as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon;

١٠ 10 بَادُوا فِي عَيْنِ دُورٍ، وصَارُوا زِبْلاً للأَرْضِ.

who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth.

١١ 11 اجْعَلْ مَصِيرَ أَشْرَافِهِمْ كَمَصِيرِ غُرَابٍ وَذِئْبٍ، وَجَمِيعَ أُمَرَائِهِمْ مِثْلَ زَبَحَ وَصَلْمُنَّاعَ،

Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna;

١٢ 12 الَّذِينَ قَالُوا: لِنَسْتَوْلِ عَلَى مَسَاكِنِ اللهِ.

who said, “Let us take possession of God’s pasture lands.”

١٣ 13 يَاإِلَهِي، بَدِّدْهُمْ كَالْقَشِّ الْمُتَطَايِرِ، وَكَالتِّبْنِ فِي مَهَبِّ الرِّيحِ.

My God, make them like tumbleweed; like chaff before the wind.

١٤ 14 كَمَا تَحْرِقُ النَّارُ الْغَابَةَ، وَكَمَا يُشْعِلُ لَهِيبُهَا الْجِبَالَ،

As the fire that burns the forest, as the flame that sets the mountains on fire,

١٥ 15 هَكَذَا طَارِدْهُمْ بِعَاصِفَتِكَ، وَأَفْزِعْهُمْ بِزَوْبَعَتِكَ.

so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm.

١٦ 16 امْلأْ وُجُوهَهُمْ خِزْياً فَيَلْتَمِسُوا اسْمَكَ يَارَبُّ.

Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek your name, Adonai.

١٧ 17 لِيَحُلَّ بِهِمِ الْعَارُ وَالرُّعْبُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ، وَلْيَخْزَوْا وَيَهْلِكُوا.

Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish;

١٨ 18 وَيَعْلَمُوا أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ، يَهْوَه الْعَلِيُّ عَلَى الأَرْضِ كُلِّهَا.

that they may know that you alone, whose name is Adonai, are haElyon [the Most High] over all the earth.
