المَزامِير 56

١ 1 ارْحَمْنِي يَارَبُّ فَإِنَّ الإِنْسَانَ يَجِدُّ فِي مُطَارَدَتِي لاِفْتِرَاسِي. يُحَارِبُنِي الْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ وَيُضَايِقُنِي.

To the chief Musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath. Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

٢ 2 يَتَرَبَّصُ بِي أَعْدَائِي طَوَالَ الْيَوْمِ لاِبْتِلاَعِي، وَمَا أَكْثَرَ الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَنِي بِكِبْرِيَاءِ الْمُتَجَبِّرِينَ.

Mine enemies would daily swallow [me] up: for [they be] many that fight against me, O thou most High.

٣ 3 فِي يَوْمِ خَوْفِي أَتَّكِلُ عَلَيْكَ.

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

٤ 4 تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ الَّذِي أَحْمَدُهُ عَلَى كَلاَمِهِ، فَلاَ أَخَافُ. مَاذَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَصْنَعَ بِي الْبَشَرُ؟

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

٥ 5 يُحَرِّفُ أَعْدَائِي طَوَالَ الْيَوْمِ كَلاَمِي. كُلُّ أَفْكَارِهِمْ تَتَآمَرُ بِالشَّرِّ عَلَيَّ.

Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts [are] against me for evil.

٦ 6 يَتَجَمَّعُونَ عَلَيَّ وَيَكْمُنُونَ لِي. يَتَرَصَّدُونَ خُطُوَاتِي وَيَبْتَغُونَ نَفْسِي.

They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

٧ 7 عَاقِبْهُمْ يَارَبُّ بِمُقْتَضَى إِثْمِهِمْ. أَخْضِعْ بِغَضَبِكَ الشُّعُوبَ يَااللهُ.

Shall they escape by iniquity? in [thine] anger cast down the people, O God.

٨ 8 أَنْتَ رَاقَبْتَ تَشَرُّدِي. فَاحْفَظْ دُمُوعِي فِي خَزَانَتِكَ. أَمَا هِيَ فِي كِتَابِكَ؟

Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: [are they] not in thy book?

٩ 9 عِنْدَمَا أَدْعُوكَ يَتَقَهْقَرُ أَعْدَائِي إِلَى الْوَرَاءِ. وَهَذَا مَا تَيَقَّنْتُ مِنْهُ: أَنَّ اللهَ مَعِي.

When I cry [unto thee], then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God [is] for me.

١٠ 10 أَحْمَدُ اللهَ عَلَى كَلاَمِهِ. أَحْمَدُ الرَّبَّ عَلَى كَلاَمِهِ.

In God will I praise [his] word: in the LORD will I praise [his] word.

١١ 11 عَلَى اللهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ فَلاَ أَخَافُ. مَاذَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَصْنَعَ بِي الإِنْسَانُ؟

In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

١٢ 12 يَارَبُّ إِنِّي أُوْفِي مَا عَلَيَّ مِنْ نُذُورٍ، وَأُقَرِّبُ لَكَ ذَبَائِحَ الشُّكْرِ.

Thy vows [are] upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

١٣ 13 لأَنَّكَ أَنْقَذْتَ نَفْسِي مِنَ الْمَوْتِ، وَحَفِظْتَ رِجْلَيَّ مِنَ الزَّلَقِ، لِكَيْ أَسْلُكَ أَمَامَ اللهِ فِي نُورِ الْحَيَاةِ.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death: [wilt] not [thou deliver] my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
