نَحَمْيا 4

١ 1 وَعِنْدَمَا عَلِمَ سَنْبَلَّطُ أَنَّنَا قَائِمُونَ بِبِنَاءَ السُّورِ امْتَلأَ غَضَباً وَغَيْظاً، وَأَخَذَ يَسْخَرُ بِالْيَهُودِ.

and to be like/as as which to hear: hear Sanballat for we to build [obj] [the] wall and to be incensed to/for him and to provoke to multiply and to mock upon [the] Jew

٢ 2 وَتَسَاءَلَ أَمَامَ أَقْرِبَائِهِ وَجَيْشِ السَّامِرَةِ: «أَيُّ شَيْءٍ يَفْعَلُهُ هَؤُلاَءِ الْيَهُودُ الضُّعَفَاءُ؟ هَلْ فِي وُسْعِهِمْ أَنْ يُعِيدُوا بِنَاءَ السُّورِ؟ هَلْ يَعُودُونَ لِتَقْرِيبِ الذَّبَائِحِ؟ هَلْ يُكْمِلُونَ الْبِنَاءَ فِي يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ؟ هَلْ يُحْيُونَ الْحِجَارَةَ مِنْ أَكْوَامِ الرُّكَامِ وَهِيَ مُحْتَرِقَةٌ؟»

and to say to/for face brother: compatriot his and strength: soldiers Samaria and to say what? [the] Jew [the] weak to make: do to leave: release to/for them to sacrifice to end: finish in/on/with day to live [obj] [the] stone from heap [the] dust and they(masc.) to burn

٣ 3 وَكَانَ طُوبِيَّا الْعَمُّونِيُّ وَاقِفاً إِلَى جِوَارِهِ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ مَا يَبْنُونَهُ إِذَا صَعِدَ عَلَيْهِ ثَعْلَبٌ فَإِنَّهُ يَهْدِمُ حِجَارَةَ سُورِهِمْ».

٤ 4 فَصَلَّيْتُ إِلَى الرَّبِّ: «اسْتَمِعْ يَاإِلَهَنَا، لأَنَّنَا قَدْ أَصْبَحْنَا مَثَارَ احْتِقَارٍ، وَاجْعَلْ تَعْيِيرَهُمْ يَرْتَدُّ عَلَى رُؤُوسِهِمْ وَلْيَصِيرُوا غَنِيمَةً فِي أَرْضِ السَّبْيِ.

to hear: hear God our for to be contempt and to return: return reproach their to(wards) head their and to give: give them to/for plunder in/on/with land: country/planet captive

٥ 5 وَلاَ تَسْتُرْ آثَامَهُمْ، وَلاَ تَمْحُ خَطِيئَتَهُمْ مِنْ أَمَامِكَ، لأَنَّهُمْ أَثَارُوا غَضَبَكَ أَمَامَ الْقَائِمِينَ بِالْبِنَاءِ».

٦ 6 وَهَكَذَا قُمْنَا بِإِعَادَةِ بِنَاءِ كُلِّ السُّورِ حَتَّى نِصْفِ ارْتِفَاعِهِ. وَكَانَ الشَّعْبُ يَعْمَلُ بِقَلْبٍ وَاحِدٍ.

٧ 7 وَلَمَّا سَمِعَ سَنْبَلَّطُ وَطُوبِيَّا وَالْعَرَبُ وَالْعَمُّونِيُّونَ وَالأَشْدُودِيُّونَ أَنَّ أَسْوَارَ أُورُشَلِيمَ قَدْ رُمِّمَتْ، وَالثُّغْرَاتِ قَدْ سُدَّتْ، احْتَدَمَ غَضَبُهُمْ،

and to be like/as as which to hear: hear Sanballat and Tobiah and [the] Arabian and [the] Ammon and [the] Ashdod for to ascend: rise health to/for wall Jerusalem for to profane/begin: begin [the] to break through to/for to close and to be incensed to/for them much

٨ 8 وَتَآمَرُوا جَمِيعُهُمْ عَلَى مُهَاجَمَةِ أُورُشَلِيمَ وَمُحَارَبَتِهَا لإِيقَاعِ الضَّرَرِ بِهَا.

and to conspire all their together to/for to come (in): come to/for to fight in/on/with Jerusalem and to/for to make: do to/for him error

٩ 9 فَتَضَرَّعْنَا إِلَى إِلَهِنَا وَأَقَمْنَا حُرَّاساً ضِدَّهُمْ نَهَاراً وَلَيْلاً حَذَراً مِنْهُمْ.

and to pray to(wards) God our and to stand: stand custody upon them by day and night from face: because their

١٠ 10 وَقَالَ أَبْنَاءُ يَهُوذَا: «لَقَدْ وَهَنَتْ قُوَى الْحَمَّالِينَ، وَأَكْوَامُ الأَنْقَاضِ كَثِيرَةٌ، وَنَحْنُ لاَ يُمْكِنُنَا بِنَاءَ السُّورِ.

and to say Judah to stumble strength [the] burden and [the] dust to multiply and we not be able to/for to build in/on/with wall

١١ 11 وَقَدْ قَالَ أَعْدَاؤُنَا: إِنَّنَا سَنُفَاجِئُهُمْ فَلاَ يَدْرُونَ وَلاَ يُبْصِرُونَ إِلاَّ وَنَحْنُ قَدْ أَصْبَحْنَا فِي وَسَطِهِمْ، فَنَقْتُلُهُمْ وَنُعَطِّلُ الْعَمَلَ!

and to say enemy our not to know and not to see: see till which to come (in): come to(wards) midst their and to kill them and to cease [obj] [the] work

١٢ 12 وَعِنْدَمَا جَاءَ الْيَهُودُ السَّاكِنُونَ إِلَى جُوَارِهِمْ حَذَّرُونَا عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ قَائِلِينَ: إِنَّهُمْ سَيَزْحَفُونَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ جَمِيعِ الأَمَاكِنِ الَّتِي يُقِيمُونَ فِيهَا».

١٣ 13 لِذَلِكَ أَقَمْتُ حُرَّاساً مِنَ الشَّعْبِ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ، مُتَسَلِّحِينَ بِالسُّيُوفِ وَالرِّمَاحِ وَالْقِسِيِّ فِي الْمُنْخَفَضَاتِ وَرَاءَ السُّورِ وَعَلَى الْمُرْتَفَعَاتِ.

١٤ 14 وَتَأَمَّلْتُ حَوْلِي، ثُمَّ وَقَفْتُ وَقُلْتُ لِلْعُظَمَاءِ وَالوُلاَةِ وَبَقِيَّةِ الشَّعْبِ: «لاَ تَخَافُوهُمْ، بَلْ تَذَكَّرُوا السَّيِّدَ الْعَظِيمَ الْمَرْهُوبَ، وَحَارِبُوا مِنْ أَجْلِ إِخْوَتِكُمْ وَأَبْنَائِكُمْ وَبَنَاتِكُمْ وَنِسَائِكُمْ وَبُيُوتِكُمْ».

and to see: see and to arise: rise and to say to(wards) [the] noble and to(wards) [the] ruler and to(wards) remainder [the] people not to fear from face of their [obj] Lord [the] great: large and [the] to fear: revere to remember and to fight upon brother: compatriot your son: child your and daughter your woman: wife your and house: home your

١٥ 15 وَعِنْدَمَا أَدْرَكَ أَعْدَاؤُنَا أَنَّنَا كَشَفْنَا مُؤَامَرَاتِهِمْ، وَأَحْبَطَ اللهُ تَدْبِيرَاتِهِمْ، رَجَعَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَّا إِلَى عَمَلِهِ فِي السُّورِ.

and to be like/as as which to hear: hear enemy our for to know to/for us and to break [the] God [obj] counsel their (and to return: return *Qk) all our to(wards) [the] wall man: anyone to(wards) work his

١٦ 16 وَمُنْذُ ذَلِكَ الْحِينِ أَخَذَ نِصْفُ رِجَالِي يَعْمَلُونَ، وَالنِّصْفُ الآخَرُ يُمْسِكُونَ بِالرِّمَاحِ وَالأَتْرَاسِ وَالْقِسِيِّ وَالدُّرُوعِ. وَآزَرَ الرُّؤَسَاءُ أَبْنَاءَ يَهُوذَا

١٧ 17 الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يَبْنُونَ السُّورَ. أَمَّا حَامِلُو الأَحْمَالِ فَكَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ بِالْيَدِ الْوَاحِدَةِ وَيُمْسِكُونَ السِّلاَحَ بِالْيَدِ الأُخْرَى.

١٨ 18 وَتَقَلَّدَ كُلُّ بَانٍ سَيْفاً عَلَى جَنْبِهِ، بَيْنَمَا وَقَفَ نَافِخُ الْبُوقِ إِلَى جِوَارِي.

١٩ 19 فَقُلْتُ لِلأَشْرَافِ وَالْوُلاةِ وَلِبَقِيَّةِ الشَّعْبِ: «الْعَمَلُ كَثِيرٌ مُمْتَدٌّ فِي رُقْعَةٍ وَاسِعَةٍ فِي الأَرْضِ، وَنَحْنُ مُتَفَرِّقُونَ عَلَى السُّورِ وَمُتَبَاعِدُونَ عَنْ بَعْضِنَا.

and to say to(wards) [the] noble and to(wards) [the] ruler and to(wards) remainder [the] people [the] work to multiply and broad: wide and we to separate upon [the] wall distant man: anyone from brother: compatriot his

٢٠ 20 فَعَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تَتَجَمَّعُوا فِي الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي يُدَوِّي مِنْهُ نَفِيرُ الْبُوقِ، وَلْيُحَارِبْ إِلَهُنَا عَنَّا».

٢١ 21 وَهَكَذَا كُنَّا نَحْنُ نَقُومُ بِالْعَمَلِ، بَيْنَمَا نِصْفُنَا الآخَرُ يَتَقَلَّدُ الرِّمَاحَ مِنْ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى بُزُوغِ النُّجُومِ.

٢٢ 22 وَأَمَرْتُ الشَّعْبَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْوَقْتِ: «لِيَبِتْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مَعَ خَادِمِهِ فِي أُورُشَلِيمَ، فَيَكُونُوا لَنَا حُرَّاساً فِي اللَّيْلِ وَعُمَّالاً فِي النَّهَارِ».

٢٣ 23 وَلَمْ أَخْلَعْ ثِيَابِي طَوَالَ تِلْكَ الْفَتْرَةِ، لاَ أَنَا وَلاَ إِخْوَتِي وَلاَ خُدَّامِي وَلاَ الْحُرَّاسُ التَّابِعُونَ لِي، بِلْ ظَلَّ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَّا مُتَأَهِّباً بِسِلاَحِهِ حَتَّى عِنْدَ ذِهَابِهِ إِلَى الْمَاءِ.
