مَراثِي إرْمِي 3
| أَنَا هُوَ الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي شَهِدَ الْبَلِيَّةَ الَّتِي أَنْزَلَهَا قَضِيبُ سُخْطِهِ. | ١ 1 |
I am the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
| قَادَنِي وَسَيَّرَنِي فِي الظُّلْمَةِ مِنْ غَيْرِ نُورٍ. | ٢ 2 |
He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
| حَقّاً إِنَّهُ يَمُدُّ يَدَهُ عَلَيَّ مَرَّةً تِلْوَ الْمَرَّةِ طُولَ النَّهَارِ. | ٣ 3 |
Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.
| أَبْلَى لَحْمِي وَجِلْدِي. هَشَّمَ عِظَامِي. | ٤ 4 |
My flesh and my skin he has made old; he has broken my bones.
| حَاصَرَنِي وَأَحَاطَنِي بِالْعَلْقَمِ وَالْمَشَقَّةِ. | ٥ 5 |
He has built against me, and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.
| أَسْكَنَنِي فِي الظُّلْمَةِ كَمَوْتَى الْحِقَبِ الْغَابِرَةِ. | ٦ 6 |
He has made me to dwell in dark places, like those that have been long dead.
| سَيَّجَ حَوْلِي حَتَّى لاَ أُفْلِتَ. أَثْقَلَ عَلَيَّ قُيُودِي. | ٧ 7 |
He has walled me in, so I can't escape; he has made my chains heavy.
| حَتَّى حِينَ أَصْرُخُ وَأَسْتَغِيثُ يَصُدُّ صَلاَتِي. | ٨ 8 |
Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
| قَدْ أَغْلَقَ عَلَيَّ طُرُقِي بِحِجَارَةٍ مَنْحُوتَةٍ، وَجَعَلَ مَسَالِكِي مُلْتَوِيَةً. | ٩ 9 |
He has walled up my ways with cut stone; he has made my paths crooked.
| هُوَ لِي كَدُبٍّ مُتَرَبِّصٍ، وَكَأَسَدٍ مُتَرَصِّدٍ فِي مَكْمَنِهِ. | ١٠ 10 |
He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in hiding.
| أَضَلَّ طُرُقِي وَمَزَّقَنِي إِرْباً. دَمَّرَنِي. | ١١ 11 |
He has obstructed my path, and torn me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
| وَتَّرَ قَوْسَهُ وَنَصَبَنِي هَدَفاً لِسَهْمِهِ. | ١٢ 12 |
He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
| اخْتَرَقَ كُلْيَتَيَّ بِنِبَالِ جَعْبَتِهِ. | ١٣ 13 |
He has caused the arrows of his quiver to pierce my inward parts.
| صِرْتُ مَثَارَ هُزْءٍ لِشَعْبِي وَأُهْجِيَةً لَهُمُ الْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ. | ١٤ 14 |
I have become a laughingstock to all peoples, and their song all the day.
| أَشْبَعَنِي مَرَارَةً، وَأَرْوَانِي أَفْسَنْتِيناً. | ١٥ 15 |
He has filled me with bitterness, he has given me in full measure wormwood.
| هَشَّمَ أَسْنَانِي بِالْحَصَى، وَطَمَرَنِي بِالرَّمَادِ. | ١٦ 16 |
He has also broken my teeth with gravel; he has pressed me down in the dust.
| فَتَنَاءَتْ نَفْسِي عَنِ السَّلاَمِ، وَنَسِيتُ طَعْمَ الْخَيْرَاتِ. | ١٧ 17 |
You have removed my soul far away from peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.
| فَقُلْتُ: «تَلاَشَتْ قُوَّتِي، وَكُلُّ مَا كُنْتُ أَرْجُوهُ مِنَ الرَّبِّ». | ١٨ 18 |
And I said, "My strength and my hope has perished from YHWH."
| اُذْكُرْ بَلِيَّتِي وَتَيَهَانِي وَالأَفْسَنْتِينَ وَالْمَرَارَةَ. | ١٩ 19 |
Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
| مَا بَرِحَتْ نَفْسِي تَذْكُرُهَا وَهِيَ مُنْحَنِيَةٌ فِي دَاخِلِي. | ٢٠ 20 |
My soul considers them, and is depressed.
| وَلَكِنْ هَذَا مَا أُنَاجِي بِهِ نَفْسِي، لِذَلِكَ يَغْمُرُنِي الرَّجَاءُ: | ٢١ 21 |
But this I call to my mind; therefore I have hope:
| مِنْ إِحْسَانَاتِ الرَّبِّ أَنَّنَا لَمْ نَفْنَ، لأَنَّ مَرَاحِمَهُ لاَ تَزُولُ. | ٢٢ 22 |
YHWH's faithful love does not cease; his compassion does not fail.
| تَتَجَدَّدُ فِي كُلِّ صَبَاحٍ. فَائِقَةٌ أَمَانَتُكَ. | ٢٣ 23 |
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
| تَقُولُ نَفْسِي: «الرَّبُّ هُوَ نَصِيبِي فَلِذَلِكَ أَرْجُوهُ». | ٢٤ 24 |
"YHWH is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."
| الرَّبُّ صَالِحٌ لِمَنْ يَرْجُونَهُ وَلِلنَّفْسِ الَّتِي تَلْتَمِسُهُ. | ٢٥ 25 |
YHWH is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
| خَيْرٌ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَنْتَظِرَ بِصَمْتٍ خَلاَصَ الرَّبِّ. | ٢٦ 26 |
It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of YHWH.
| خَيْرٌ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَحْمِلَ النِّيرَ فِي حَدَاثَتِهِ. | ٢٧ 27 |
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke while he is young.
| لِيَعْتَكِفْ وَحِيداً فِي صَمْتٍ لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ قَدْ وَضَعَ النِّيرَ عَلَيْهِ. | ٢٨ 28 |
Let him sit alone and keep silence when he is disciplining him.
| لِيُوَارِ وَجْهَهُ فِي التُّرَابِ تَذَلُّلاً، عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ هُنَاكَ رَجَاءٌ. | ٢٩ 29 |
Let him put his mouth to the dust, there may yet be hope.
| لِيَبْذُلْ خَدَّهُ لِلاَطِمِ، وَيَشْبَعْ تَعْيِيراً. | ٣٠ 30 |
Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled with insults.
| لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ لاَ يَنْبِذُ إِلَى الأَبَدِ. | ٣١ 31 |
For YHWH will not reject forever.
| فَإِنَّهُ وَلَوْ أَحْزَنَ يَرْأَفُ بِمُقْتَضَى رَحْمَتِهِ الْفَائِقَةِ. | ٣٢ 32 |
For though he may cause grief, yet he will have compassion according to the abundance of his loving kindness.
| لأَنَّهُ لاَ يَتَعَمَّدُ أَنْ يَبْتَلِيَ أَبْنَاءَ الْبَشَرِ بِالْبُؤْسِ وَالأَسَى، | ٣٣ 33 |
For he is not predisposed to bring affliction or suffering to human beings.
| وَلاَ أَنْ يَسْحَقَ أَسْرَى الأَرْضِ تَحْتَ الأَقْدَامِ، | ٣٤ 34 |
To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth;
| وَلاَ أَنْ يَجُورَ أَحَدٌ عَلَى حُقُوقِ الإِنْسَانِ، أَمَامَ عَيْنَيِ الرَّبِّ الْعَلِيِّ | ٣٥ 35 |
to deprive a man of justice before the face of the Most High,
| أَوْ أَنْ لاَ يُنْصَفَ الإِنْسَانُ فِي دَعْوَاهُ. أَلاَ يَرَى الرَّبُّ هَذِهِ الأُمُورَ؟ | ٣٦ 36 |
to subvert a man in his cause, YHWH does not approve.
| مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَقْضِي بِأَمْرٍ فَيَتَحَقَّقَ إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنِ الرَّبُّ قَدْ أَمَرَ بِهِ؟ | ٣٧ 37 |
Who can speak a thing and have it come to pass, unless YHWH has commanded it?
| أَلَيْسَ مِنْ فَمِ الْعَلِيِّ يَصْدُرُ الضُّرُّ وَالْخَيْرُ؟ | ٣٨ 38 |
Doesn't both calamity and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
| فَلِمَاذَا يَشْتَكِي الإِنْسَانُ الْحَيُّ حِينَ يُعَاقَبُ عَلَى خَطَايَاهُ؟ | ٣٩ 39 |
Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
| لِنَفْحَصْ طُرُقَنَا وَنَخْتَبِرْهَا وَنَرْجِعْ إِلَى الرَّبِّ. | ٤٠ 40 |
Let us examine and search our ways, and return to YHWH.
| لِنَرْفَعْ قُلُوبَنَا وَأَيْدِيَنَا إِلَى اللهِ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ. | ٤١ 41 |
Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.
| قَدْ تَعَدَّيْنَا وَتَمَرَّدْنَا، وَأَنْتَ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ. | ٤٢ 42 |
We have transgressed and have rebelled, and you have not forgiven.
| لَفَّعْتَ نَفْسَكَ بِالْغَضَبِ وَتَعَقَّبْتَنَا. قَتَلْتَ مِنْ غَيْرِ رَحْمَةٍ. | ٤٣ 43 |
You have covered yourself with anger and pursued us; you killed without sparing.
| تَلَفَّعْتَ بِالسَّحَابِ حَتَّى لاَ تَبْلُغَ إِلَيْكَ صَلاَةٌ. | ٤٤ 44 |
You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
| قَدْ جَعَلْتَنَا أَوْسَاخاً وَأَقْذَاراً بَيْنَ الشُّعُوبِ. | ٤٥ 45 |
You have made us rubbish and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
| فَتَحَ عَلَيْنَا جَمِيعُ أَعْدَائِنَا أفْوَاهَهُمْ، | ٤٦ 46 |
All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
| وَحَلَّ بِنَا الرُّعْبُ وَالْهَلاَكُ وَالدَّمَارُ وَالسَّحْقُ. | ٤٧ 47 |
Fear and the pit have come on us, devastation and destruction.
| تَفِيضُ عَيْنَايَ بِأَنْهَارِ مِيَاهٍ عَلَى دَمَارِ ابْنَةِ شَعْبِي. | ٤٨ 48 |
Streams of tears run down from my eyes because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
| لَنْ تَكُفَّ عَيْنَايَ عَنِ الْبُكَاءِ أَبداً، | ٤٩ 49 |
My tears flow and do not cease, without respite,
| حَتَّى يُشْرِفَ الرَّبُّ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَيُبْصِرَ. | ٥٠ 50 |
until YHWH looks down and sees from heaven.
| تَتْلَفُ عَيْنَايَ عَلَى مَصِيرِ كُلِّ بَنَاتِ مَدِينَتِي. | ٥١ 51 |
My eyes bring my soul grief, because of all the daughters of my city.
| قَدِ اصْطَادَنِي، كَعُصْفُورٍ، أَعْدَائِي الَّذِينَ لَمْ أُسِئْ إِلَيْهِمْ، | ٥٢ 52 |
They have chased me relentlessly like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.
| طَرَحُونِي حَيّاً فِي الْجُبِّ وَرَجَمُونِي بِالْحِجَارَةِ. | ٥٣ 53 |
They have cut off my life in a pit, and have cast a stone on me.
| طَغَتِ الْمِيَاهُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِي، فَقُلْتُ: «قَدْ هَلَكْتُ». | ٥٤ 54 |
Waters flowed over my head; I said, 'I am finished.'
| اسْتَغَثْتُ بِاسْمِكَ يَارَبُّ مِنْ أَعْمَاقِ الْجُبِّ، | ٥٥ 55 |
I called on your name, YHWH, out of the depths of the pit.
| فَسَمِعْتَ صَوْتِي. لاَ تَصُمَّ أُذُنَيْكَ عَنْ صُرَاخِ اسْتِغَاثَتِي. | ٥٦ 56 |
You heard my voice; do not hide your ear at my sighs, to my cry.
| اقْتَرَبْتَ حِينَ دَعَوْتُكَ إِذْ قُلْتَ: «لاَ تَخَفْ». | ٥٧ 57 |
You drew near in the day that I called on you; you said, "Do not be afraid."
| قَدْ دَافَعْتَ عَنْ دَعْوَايَ يَارَبُّ، وَافْتَدَيْتَ حَيَاتِي. | ٥٨ 58 |
YHWH, you have taken up the case for my soul; you have redeemed my life.
| أَنْتَ شَهِدْتَ مَا أَسَاءُوا بِهِ إِلَيَّ يَارَبُّ، فَاقْضِ فِي دَعْوَايَ. | ٥٩ 59 |
You have seen, YHWH, the wrong done to me; judge my case.
| قَدْ رَأَيْتَ انْتِقَامَهُمْ كُلَّهُ وَسَائِرَ مُؤَامَرَاتِهِمْ عَلَيَّ. | ٦٠ 60 |
You have seen all their vengeance and all their plots against me.
| سَمِعْتَ تَعْيِيرَهُمْ يَارَبُّ، وَجَمِيعَ مُؤَامَرَاتِهِمْ عَلَيَّ. | ٦١ 61 |
You have heard their insults, YHWH, and all their plots against me.
| وَسَمِعْتَ كَلاَمَ أَعْدَائِي وَتَدْبِيرَاتِهِمْ ضِدِّي الْيَوْمَ كُلَّهُ. | ٦٢ 62 |
The lips of those that rose up against me, and their plots against me all day long.
| رَاقِبْ جُلُوسَهُمْ وَقِيَامَهُمْ، فَقَدْ أَصْبَحْتُ أُهْجِيَةً لَهُمْ. | ٦٣ 63 |
Look their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their mocking song.
| جَازِهِمْ يَارَبُّ بِمُقْتَضَى مَا جَنَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ. | ٦٤ 64 |
You will render to them what they deserve, YHWH, according to the work of their hands.
| اجْعَلْ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ غَشَاوَةً، وَلْتَكُنْ لَعْنَتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ. | ٦٥ 65 |
You will give them hardness of heart as your curse to them.
| تَعَقَّبْهُمْ بِسُخْطٍ وَأَهْلِكْهُمْ مِنْ تَحْتِ سَمَاوَاتِكَ يَارَبُّ. | ٦٦ 66 |
You will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of YHWH.
